If you go into a pub where the whole place is shouting racist abuse at Khan they're probably not the best people to socialise with ;)
If you go in to a pub or arena to watch a fight you're not so much as socialising as sharing a venue.
The problem we have now is that no matter what reasons you give for not liking the chinny sod people take on this knowing attitude as if to say, 'I know that's what you say but the real reason is.....' nod nod wink wink ;)
BS.

My point entirely
You`d have to be either a lying toerag or someone who doesnt have a social status if at some point you havent heard some idiot profess to hating khan because of his race/religion
I was anti khan this time last year because the guy pre-roach didnt have what it took to mess it up with the big boys and i felt like his team were selling us short time and time again.
But khan has grown up big time in 2009, without doubt the most improved fighter of the year as he seems to mature with every performance. Didnt think he could handle barreras ring skills...he did, didnt think he`d be able to take kotelniks power..he did

You're lucky I'm getting some or my frustration would be taken out by kicking your ass.

But if the pub is full of dodge pots and you're offened by racist talk you can go somewhere else to watch. If it's just a small minority being racist then that doesn't prove anything. That goes on everywhere about every colour.

not everywhere shows live fights.

of the high-profile british fighters he's one of my favs (can't stand froch or haye). yes, i hope he succeeds. but to do so he's gonna have to start facing some real names and not this endless list of nobodies.

Don't expect that to happen anytime soon, Warren will be keeping him safe for the foreseeable future

Must be a small town if you can only find a few places. So again you're dealing with a small minority that doesn't represent the mass view.

Right, I was called a racist a good while back when I was in full on anti-Khan mode and that irritated me. I have read a lot of Khan threads and see people raising the point that race is the reason why Khan is so disliked, but personally I just see a whole bunch of other reasons why I'm not so keen on him. It's too easy to bring up the race card, though I am sure there are a fair few racists out there too.
My original statement on this thread was more of a thinking aloud moment than anything else anyway. Racists are all gay, and those that needlessly accuse others of racism are supergay. Khan fans are just downright peculiar....:p
Re: Who hopes Khan can become an elite boxer? Vote now!
I voted no because he won't if he gets out of 2009 he won't get out of 2010 without being KO'd ;)

I hope you don't mean me there?:p
I agree with the sharing a venue bit. You can't help which dick heads turn up to watch the fight (at the arena or in a pub).

Yeah i agree but it would be nice to not have to miss the fight looking for a venue that isn't full of bigots...which seems very hard in Leeds when Khan's on.
