A Margarito fan and I have my doubts about him too. Got caught cheating once so past victories are not a bit shady. I am a fan of Oscar de la Hoya too and I don't praise everything he does. Same thing with other guys I root for.
But yeah, Team Pac proudly says he's all pure and clean so why hide all of a sudden? If, I repeat...IF...he was caught cheating with illegal substances/enhancers imagine his credibility for his past victories :( . Let's see what happens.
As people said, the fight will go on, there are 30-40 million reasons why it will go on for each fighter. More than likely there will be a compromise of when the blood tests are done. I'm reading reports out there that the last blood test could be within 48 hours of fight time and the Pac camp doesn't want that.
Well the whole thing just is shady. Can anyone here tell me that the tiny amount of blood taken in a drug test would not be recovered in a day? I dont think it would even effect you at all, its not like theyre draining your whole body.
Anyone who says mayweather is being a dick for asking is stupid, if theres nothing to hide then there shouldnt be a problem. I dont see a problem at all if mayweather takes the same drug test especially with the 10 mil per pound clause of the contract, pac should just humour us and take the drug test. And for the whole needle thing, the guy has tattoos so he cant be too afraid of needles.
Taeth I'm not sure what steroid you can take for just a month and have it out of your system by fight night. In fact, it's actually basically impossible for that to be the case, lots of steroids and growth hormones stay in your fat cells for extended periods of time. If this was a normal piss test then yeah, it would be possible that someone could test clean, maybe. But with a blood test that's probably impossible. Where there's smoke there is fire. Say what you want but there has been a definite suspicion among those about Manny. Usually guys can't move up in weight, add muscle and still continue to add speed and explosiveness. Manny could be an anomaly, or he could be on one. This is a very sneaky move releasing this as a press release, it puts the onus on Pacquiao now. If he doesn't take a blood test, how could you not be left with at least somewhat of a bad taste in your mouth?
Is it me or does Pacquiao seem to be trying to get out of this fight?? 1st of all he asks for $10 million for every lbs Floyd is over 147 (which will be none) and now he is refusing the drugs test?? Maybe he is on steroids after all during training, my trainer tells me that nandrolone can be flushed out of your system in 24 hours so the only way to catch someone on that would be under an olympic style testing system and testing just before and after the fight would be worthless!
All of this just really pisses me off.:mad:
I'm pissed at PBF for demanding extra testing. He's only doing it to create a slur on Pac and unsettle him. The man's a fucking coward.
I'm also pissed at Pac for not agreeing to the test and shoving the results down Floyds throat. The only way out for Pac is to now agree to the tests otherwise question marks will always remain over how he managed to move up so easily.
I've had my damn credit card at the ready for nearly a month now waiting for this to be announced so I can book my flight.
Here's Arum's take on it all:

Promoter Bob Arum: Mayweather-Pacquiao off; 'Floyd never really wanted the fight'

http://media.mlive.com/mayweather_im...f8a_medium.jpgAP File PhotoBob Arum, left, says he and Manny Pacquiao are "going in a different direction."The proposed Floyd Mayweather-Manny Pacquiao fight is off because Mayweather’s camp refused to relent on drug tests via blood rather than urine sampling, promoter Bob Arum said Tuesday night in an exclusive interview with The Press.
Arum said Pacquiao agreed to blood testing before the pre-fight press conference -- typically conducted months before a major fight -- and after the proposed March 13 bout, as well as random urine sampling at any time.
But when Mayweather’s camp insisted on random, Olympic-style blood samples, Pacquiao abandoned plans for the richest fight in history, Arum said.
“We’re going in a different direction,” Arum said. “What I believe is that Floyd never really wanted the fight and this is just harassment of Pacquiao.
“We appeased Mayweather by agreeing to a urine analysis at any time, and blood testing before the press conference and after the fight. Mayweather pressed for blood testing even up to the weigh-in. He knew that Manny gets freaked out when his blood gets taken, and feels that it weakens him. This is just harassment and, to me, just signaled that he didn’t want the fight.”
Arum worked on the negotiations until two weeks ago.
At that point, the CEO of Top Rank Inc. withdrew, and handed over negotiations to the company president and his stepson, Todd duBoef, after the Mayweather camp refused to consider fighting in Dallas.
Two days later, Dec. 12, Mayweather’s adviser, Leonard Ellerbe, disclosed the demand for random, Olympic-style drug testing conducted by the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency.
“This doesn’t bother me because Bob Arum was the smart one,” Arum said. “He pulled away from this negotiation how many weeks ago? Three weeks ago? I knew what was up. I’m not a fool. Then when Schaefer said he wasn’t going to Texas, and so forth, I knew the fight wasn’t going to happen. But I could be wrong and that’s why Todd made a college try.”
Arum said the Mayweather camp’s insistence on blood testing, rather than urine testing, merely was a way to get out of the fight.
“Floyd, to me, is a coward and he’s always been a coward,” Arum said. “Not a physical coward, but a coward because he’s afraid to face somebody who could beat him. And believe me, Manny Pacquiao could beat him. So he’ll go his way, we’ll go our way, and that’ll be fine.
“Manny Pacquiao doesn’t know anything about drugs. This is just typical nastiness by wise guys like (adviser Leonard) Ellerbe and Mayweather. They’re just wise guys. I don’t think Schaefer’s to blame. I think he got sucked in by it.”
Arum said when he learned of the demand for random blood tests, he immediately rejected it.
“Nevada has stringent drug testing, right before the fight and after the fight,” he said. “This is all a bunch of hooey and nonsense. The kind of testing we agreed to was designed, 100 percent, to detect everything.
“Remember, 40 years of fights in Las Vegas and nothing like this has ever come up. If you want more stringent testing, sure, as long as it doesn’t inconvenience and psychologically affect Pacquiao, sure, who cares? They could analyze urine from today until tomorrow, it wouldn’t affect anything. It’s the blood testing close to the fight, while he’s in training, that’s unnecessary. And everybody who knows anything about drug testing will tell you it’s unnecessary.”
Arum said HBO Sports president Ross Greenburg tried to intervene on the testing issue Tuesday, to no avail.

Follow David Mayo at David Mayo (David_Mayo) on TwitterHe said he would pursue other possible opponents for Pacquiao, including Yuri Foreman, Paulie Malignaggi, or a third fight with Juan Manuel Marquez.
Malignaggi would be an interesting choice, if only because he has made clear his own suspicions about Pacquiao using performance-enhancing drugs.
Arum said he knows sports fans would be disappointed at the potential disintegration of what could have been the richest fight in history, and the most anticipated fight in decades.
“Sure they’ll be disappointed,” he said. “But they’ve got to understand what’s up. We’re not going to keep appeasing this guy, for no damn reason, especially over something that would affect, psychologically, my fighter. We’re not going to be pushed around by this guy. We’re not going to do it.”
Nuthugger stepping to the plate I guess... Or it should say anyone who disagrees with Daxx Khan is wrong:rolleyes:
Anyway, when was the last time Mayweather didnt make the 147 limit?? Enough said!!!!
The fact that Pac is the only guy in the history of boxing to storm through 7 weight classes in an era where PED and designer Roids are the rule rather than exception has raised red flags... I gotta tell you besides Lance Armstrong every other elite athlete who they have been suspicious of have most of the time have been connected to some kind of PED or the evidence has been so overwhelming you would have to be blind not to accept it...
I particularly think that the whole Floyd walked away and Manny kept fighting so Manny should ignore Floyd argument is as short sighted as I have ever heard since this came to fruition...
Where talking about 2 Hall Of Fame fighters who are the 2 best of this generation and hopefully about to engage in the most meanigful fight in the whole history of the sport... Floyd has every reason to be concerned about his legacy in the midst of all the rumors swirling around steroid or PED use..
If there is smoke than there is fire, should be nothing to hide here about blood testing, its not like they are going to take 2 quarts from Pac and weaken him like he is on Chemo or something... Not to mention Floyd is not asking Pac to do anything that he isint going to do either...
Reminds me of Sammy Sosa being accused of doing Roids by a reporter.... Sammy said all take a test now or anytime.. Reporter gets an independent lab lined up and all of a sudden Sosa is mumbling and jumbling without taking a test, and guess what he never failed a drug test either but he wont even snif the hall of fame like the rest of them....
Floyd scared nah, Floyd wants to make sure he is fighting an athlete who is natural at his craft like himself without any enhancements
Just for those who hadn't seen, Arum has said the fight is off
Bob Arum Tells Floyd Mayweather, Schaefer: "Go To Hell!" - Boxing News
Apparently Floyd is scared despite agreeing to everything else put in front of him
Arum is outraged that they're 'trying to bully this kid' & asks of Mayweather 'who is this ignorant, illiterate kid demanding this'.
Obvious things there are that Mayweather is the guy who gets in the ring with him not Arum & not us, so he can demand whatever he wants as long as he is willing to be put through the same process. Also Manny Pacquiao is a possibly ATG fighter, not some little kid who can't defend himself. But hey he's afraid of needles.

EDIT: Read this from the head of the USADA who said that blood removed replaces itself within 1 hour. It's at the bottom of the page. Cue some Pac-fan trying to insinuate they're some kind of mafia
Manny Pacquiao's blood test refusal puts Floyd Mayweather Jr fight at risk | Sport | guardian.co.uk
Hate to say it but cheaters using any steroid or enhancements in this era do to the complexity and way they can be hidden have led led to a precedence of
Prove to us your not on roids.
Instead of the athlete saying prove that I'm on them.
This will absolute kill Manny in the court of public approval that he cant step up and take a few bloodtests while preparing for the highest caliber fight.. Manny is going down the same road the rest of the cheaters have taken when put in this situation
If Manny is outright refusing to go along with the testing then that makes him look very suspicious. There is NO good reason to not agree going along with having the same tests that Floyd himself is willing to submit to. Floyd has laid it on the line and said "do this one thing" and Manny is stalling.
I've started a poll looking at whether people think Manny should submit to testing or not. I think he should and have a feeling that might be the way most are feeling (but I will wait and see on that), so for the Manny camp to outright refuse seems strange. People want this fight, seemingly Floyd wants it too...so why is Manny playing up?
