Could Floyd end his career as the best ever?

Most people on here know that I'm pretty serious on my boxing history, and it is not beyond the realms of possibility that if he were to beat Pacquiao, that he could be 'considered' the best of all time. I'm not sure if he would be for me, but he is most definitely in the discussion if he does that and retires. People bag on his resume, but in truth, it is up there with the best of the past. People have mentioned the likes of Robinson, Leonard and Hearns, but at least the two Sugar Rays, once on top, picked their fights more than Mayweather has, and that's just the truth, read up on it if you don't believe me.

The top guys have always done it and you should ask yourself whether not fighting Antonio Margarito or Miguel Cotto devalues his career any more than Robinson not fighting Charley Burley or Leonard waiting to see signs of fade in Hagler does. I mean ffs, there are even some people who have claimed that Roberto Duran ducked Aaron Pryor.

Once his career is over, people will reflect on it differently and looking at the quality of opposition and how he has beaten them, it would be hard to argue against Floyd being well inside the ATG Top 20 right now, same with Pacquiao. You could even make an argument for already being in the Top 10, which in Floyd's case I probably would.

I will now say something that will be considered sacrilege to many on here, but I already rate him alongside Muhammad Ali in terms of achievements, and I suspect by the end of his career, I will have him marginally higher even were he to lose to Pacquiao.
