Re: Which boxers do you hate?
I also really dislike Winky Wright. Not as a person, he seems like a really nice guy. It's that style that I just find quite boring to watch. It's very effective, but for me a bit of a turn off.
Andre Ward too. I can't stand his nickname and think he should rename himself 'the Billy goat from heaven'. Again, a style that I just can't sit back and admire.

Right now i'm just eager to express my hate
Max Kellerman seems okay to me now. He just need to take it easy on energy drinks though.
Manny steward is still a bias prick. But you can tell he's doing his best to not to.
Jim "bam! bam! bam!" Lampley. ;D He's a pothead. He's alright I guess.
Max need to share his redbull with Larry Merchant.

Re: Which boxers do you hate?
Like others have said hate's a bit strong so I'm going with dislike
Cintron- for crying himself out of a ko loss to a draw against martinez.
Haye- Talked so much shit and then puff nothing.
Ward- Call it wiley/crafty I call it dirty, maybe it's cause he beat kess whom I had favored or maybe it's his inane nick "son of god" can ya say get down to earth man.
Berto- Don't see all that much in him other than his super fast hands, dastardly stupid comments after the sad valero murder/suicide.

Oh most definately, I know there are a ton of knowledgable, cool-as-hell Brit fans and a lot of stupid, stupid yanks (I'm canadian by the way).
On the subject of commentary, I know there are terrible yank announcers. It just seems like most of the Brit commentators are terribly biased and go out of their way to protect their fighters. David Haye landed huge bombs to the back of John Ruiz's head, clear as day, and the British broadcasters on the vid I watched were disrespecting Ruiz calling him a crybaby and a faker, even after watching a slow motion replay clearly showing Haye smoke him in the back of the head. After the 3rd or 4th replay one finally "conceeded" that there was a small punch to the back of the head, but it was as Ruiz was going down (he wasn't).
I've never heard Jim Lampley, Harold Letterman, Teddy Atlas, ect ect ever protect a guy just because he was an American fighting a foreigner. You don't get that. They'll make retarded points, or they'll be TOO critical of a fighter, but you never get the feeling that they are blatantly trying to pull the wool over your eyes.
Re: Which boxers do you hate?
I do hate it when guys like Merchant and Sugar come down too hard on fights or fighters.....FFS there are bad fights every so often, don't act like each fight you see is the worst you've ever seen. Not every fight can be Gatti-Ward or Corrales-Castillo! And not every heavyweight bout can be Bowe-Holyfield. But you only hear those two cheer on certain fighters everyone else is a bum.
Man I've never been so happy to see Larry Merchant get his old heart broken by Cris Arreola vs Vitali...that was good ;D ....and to hear Lampley's "BANG! BAM! BOFF! POW!" shtick just made it all the more satisfying knowing Old Larry had to sit there right beside Lampley while he was describing how bad Larry's boy was getting pounded...just a bonus to him watching it ringside ;D

Is Merchant a Arreola fan?? Thats shocked me quite a bit! I have a lot of DVD's with Larry on commentary but not much recent stuff so I've never really heard him talk about big fat Chris.

Jesus he's got an hard on for Arreola. I really don't know why. I never have had much faith in him providing the goods. Maybe he's just desperate for an American HW champ. Personally I'd give Briggs more of a shot and I don't give him much of one.

...told ya dude. Yeah I figure Merchant and Burt Sugar just want to see one more great American heavyweight before they pass on, and there's no harm in that, but they don't have to hate so much on the guys fighting right now.
Re: Which boxers do you hate?
Hate is a hard word but here are guys that I hope (or hoped) get KTFO every time they lace (or laced) them up:
1. Vic Darchinyan (Don't give a f@&k if I spelled it right)
2. Ray Leonard
3. Zab Judah
4. ODLH
5. Joe Calzage (see above re. spelling)
6. BHop
(on the waiting list: anybody named Hatton, Rocky Juarez (because he obviously has compromising photos of some governing official), SHOWTIME.
Don't hate these guys, and in fact I've always respected them, but I don't like them!
I could go on for days on this subject!

I looked on Boxrec last night to see if there were any Americans coming through that could set the world alight and I came up with nothing really. Couple of good but very padded records.
Do you know if there is anything fresh in the Ams? Maybe just holding out for the Olympics before turning pro?

Deontay Wilder is the guy I am hoping makes it, but he's very raw right now. Dan Rafael commented about another guy who is a bit more polished but I will have to look through his chat wrap to find the name.
