Merchant was disgusted with Haye's performance, and to a lessor degree Lampley was too, I can't say I don't agree.

At the end of the day Haye was supposed to be Wlad's stiffest test, and not some stiff that showed up to run and last 12 rounds and never put forth the effort to even attempt to win.
So after all that trash talk Haye is getting what he deserves.
Giving who enough credit erics44? Haye? Why would he deserve any to begin with? He talked trash, sold the fight, and then just played "4 corners offense" for 12 rounds! It was crap and I was 100% correct in calling him out 2-3 years ago as just a loud mouthed punk.
*A note to those who aren't familiar with the "4 corners offense" its a basketball term and was an offense made use of before the shot clock came into being. Players would spread out and pass the ball back and forth and waste lots of time before even attempting a basket.
Nobody was expecting Gatti-Ward, genius. We WERE, however.... expecting a decent fight. Is that too much to ask? Even from a "boring" fighter and a loud-mouth idiot? It WAS, after all, a heavyweight championship fight. Or are your standards so low you don't give a shit how fights turn out?
It was "a stinker.... end of"? That's precisely my point, genius. My point is that boxing desperately needs a good heavyweight fight and/or rivalry..... and under this desperation people are willing to believe things they wouldn't normally believe. And they bought into Haye's hype. I myself haven't watched too many Haye fights, so I'm not the authority you are (obviously) as far as what Haye's chances were against Wlad.
While you and a few others are quick to dismiss Haye's disgraceful showing as "just another stinker", I choose to wring my hands a little bit over the disappointment I and few others felt with the fight. But I know you're smugly above it all, with your witty comments and all that.
You look at it as just another "stinker"....... I look at it as a major disappointment.
NOW it's end of.
