Lets be honest. Any time you go into an fighter's hometown then there is going to be homecooking. Ask Kotelnik about winning a decision against Alexander in St. Louis. Ask any foreigner about winning a decision in the UK. Ask a foreigner about winning a decision in Germany.
the hometown fighter is going to get anywhere from 2-3 rounds given to him alot of the time.
Same thing for 2 guys where it isn't a hometown situation. Ask yourself who is the bigger name (or the champ) and figure 2-3 rounds are going to be given to him.
I'm cynical but that is what you see on a regular basis. Hometown guys and bigger name guys will get scores they shouldn't be getting.

Also if were going to hate on germany lets make sure the fight actually took place in germany, which it didnt this time.

I caught that as well, but pointing out that it was in Helsinki, Finland, just allows the poster to amend his statement with try to get a decision in any of those countries, and he can list, Germany, Finland, etc... The truth is it doesn't matter. Getting a decision in ________________ against a fighter from __________ is almost impossible. Just change the location to Germany, Finland, UK, USA, and it is all the same.
Re: War the boz!!!! (Povetkin - Boswell/Helenius - Chisora)
Chisora won that fight and on that form would beat Tyson Fury.
Re: War the boz!!!! (Povetkin - Boswell/Helenius - Chisora)
A bonafide robbery, fucks sake, I dont even like Chisora, the only fighter I dislike more is Margarito, and I had him winning fucking 9-3. Chisora won 7, count em, 7 CLEAR ROUNDS in this fight. Therefore he wins regardless of how kind you are to Helenius in the others, end of story. Fuck me this shit gets bad sometimes. Its as bad a decision as ive seen in all honesty.
I'd be interested to know whether you could find anyone on the forum that thought Helenius won, is there anyone at all?

Yup. It's Sauerland, not Germany. Like anywhere else, it all comes down to the power and influence of the promotional agency.

True they mentioned in the commentary that the Sauerland team passed the Boxnation commentators their card half way through in round 6 and they had Helenius up 5-1.
Re: War the boz!!!! (Povetkin - Boswell/Helenius - Chisora)
I was really rooting for the Boz here, but he was brutally knocked out by the better man last Saturday. Povetkin looked better than he has in some while.

...and after the fight he said "I'd like to fight..........................Tyson Fury" :vd:
Fight Wladimir God damnit!!!
As for The Helenius-Chisora fight, I'll have to look it up and watch it. I saw with my own eyes that Helenius had some pop (though it didn't look shocking or anything) but for him to struggle so mightily with Del Boy just goes to show you the division lacks consistency. I never thought of Helenius as a true threat to the Klitschko's, but it would be nice if someone actually gave them a challenge....the last dude to challenge Vitali was Sanders and the last guy to put up any fight vs Wlad was Thompson (not that he won rounds or anything)

Yes, time catches up with all of us, you are correct.
Povetkin fighting a taller man in Fury makes sense in a way if he is preparing to fight Klitschko. There was also rumor of Povetkin and Huck in talks for a fight.
Re: War the boz!!!! (Povetkin - Boswell/Helenius - Chisora)
Guys like Povetkin, Chisora, etc are more apt to have back and forth battles than are the Klitschko's. If the right matches can be made heavyweight boxing can be very exciting. Fighters like Bermane Stiverne, Tomaz Adamek, Cris Arreola, and so on have to keep in top physical condition and they can have some very fun fights for the fans. I saw a tiny clip of Helenius vs Chisora, the head movement and footwork was very good from Del Boy and vs a guy who throws his punches slowly it was very effective he had Helenius on the backfoot the entire round and that's what needs to be done.
There's plenty of room in the heavyweight division for CONSISTENT fighters....poor Boswell, only his 2nd pro loss and he may never get a title shot now, though he could easily sneak back into the top 10.

Poor Boswell. It may very well have been his last chance. I didn't know that Boswell had been a sparring partner for Povetkin in the past. Povetkin looked good. I like him over the rest of opposition at heavyweight right now, I believe.

In his post-fight interview Teddy Atlas said that Povetkin needs another two or three fights before Klitschko.
