Damn I did not think Mike would not stand up for himself.

Can't blame Alvarado there, he took a brutal beating in the end had his body taken out.

So happy for Provodnikov. The guy really deserved it.

Well, that was sensible. Cracking fight and well done Provodnikov. He always looks a bit slow and limited to me, but then he starts to dent the opponent and it is seldom just a scratch.

Alvarado to get a rematch and outbox him better? :cool:

Alvarado came into the fight a middleweight and spent most of it backing away from a at best welter. Provodnikov has definitely got some dig on him. Now he's going to get at least one good payday and HBO being in the reduced circumstances they are will probably give him two or three. Great entertainment. Hats off to Provodnikov.

Next time we, fans dismiss or doubt a guy as "hes just a ESPN guy"..think twice. You don't know what you are until you earn the oppurtunity to shine!

I was rooting for Alvarado but realistically. Although I'm a bit bummed Prod seems like a truly decent guy. The west coast of the US must seem like heaven after eating all that raw fish and deer heart.

Good job for Alvarado it wasn't a British ref for the first count in round eight. :)

Best fight i have seen all year. After the disappointment of previous big match ups, this was a gem of a fight.

Well said. I thought Alvarado was on his way to outboxing Providnikov, but he is a heavy handed lil monster and wore Mike down.
