There is an old saying that I personally had a hard time with until the calender brought visions of Father Time sitting on a Harley. Roy had his day and he's over forty and the last time he was any good was when he beat The Octopus John Ruiz. You can be the Lightweight Champion on the world and have a truck driver of two hundred fiftty pounds or more sit on your head during a street fight but like some people say, size matters. The last time I saw skill overcome bulk before Roy Jones and Ruiz, there was Larry Holmes and Mike Spinks. Some people thought the Larry won the rematch but he never should have said anything about the icon Rocky Marciano not being good enough to carry his jock strap. The most important comment I can make here is not about size but severely diminished skills of Roy Jones Jr. and the fact that time forgives nobody and I'm still a fan and even someone as untested as Fury can hurt Roy.

I think more people on this forum are starting to twig that Fury likes to get a response and that him stating he wants to fight Jones was done just to annoy people.
Beating Jones holds no value to anyone of any level at any weight now.

A fighter who talks shite is gonna get criticised, especially if he backs it up with shite performances. I don't care about Fury talking smack, I think he's pretty entertaining and has a sort of self deprecating quality to his persona, which is cool. He has a lot more sense and class than Broner despite also being an idiot imo. My feeling is that he just isn't great, there are at least 5 or 6 guys who aren't champions that I'd pick to flatten him, and it would be nice to see him fight one of them. Having said that, you've got to feel for the guy being dicked around by Haye for the better part of a year.

Firstly son , you are the childish one which is pretty much the general opinion here , but you fail to take any notice. You blindly defend anything fury says or does like a fanboy.
The reason I find fault with fury is simple , he has a big mouth and in my opinion and many others here we with he has no power and a glass jaw.
If fury ends up as master of the boxing world then I for one will happily say that you where right and I was wrong.
But trying to big up fighters like Cunningham and Johnson , is well pathetic , yes fury won the fights and he may learn from them , but as far as logic goes the evidence is - fury got dropped by a light punching former CW , dropped by a relative novice earlier in his career , and has show little punch power , so its not bias is just most peoples opinions here that when he fights a big puncher at top level he will be knocked out.

The two fat lumps who are scheduled to fight for the vacant WBC both have major flaws. Areola has been beaten by a former cruiser weight, got beat up. Stiverne has already struggled with journemen, getting held to a draw and being stopped. Haye got stopped and dropped by cruisers and super middles and looked shite against Wlad (why anyone thinks we need him back is a joke). Wilder has been dropped by light punching journeymen, got dropped by the first fucking jab in his last fight, which was his 30th fighting someone Fury beat in his 16th! Pulev also just got dropped by a complete nobody in his last fight and looked very mediocre against Thompson who was even fatter than hed ever been. Wlad has just fought probably the most boring heavyweight fight ever and to me looks terrified now. Chisora is getting hurt and wobbled by absolute nobodies now. Adamek got a gift decision against the same former cruiserweight that Fury sparked!
What I am saying is there is far more to complain about the other heavies around than there is Fury. What you dont like is his gob. Fair enough but the criticism he gets for wanting big fights and fighting like he wants to win is not fair. It took Fury to create the first massive pay per view heavyweight fight in years.
I dont think hes unbeatable I am just fed up reading the same shit all the time. If Fury wasnt in the division the division would be utter shit. For those who have complained for years that the division is boring you finally have an entertaining fighter that is going to be hard to beat, yes because of his size but he can also fight and has proven heart. Whats wrong with that?

Nothing wrong with it at all , I am basing my opinion on what I see , I don't think the division has great depth , but I just don't see it in fury , he has a weak chin and no power , yes he get us all talking , however that's all we are doing.
So lets just see what unfolds.
You shouldn't take it so personally , you are not in the majority with you view but life would be dull if we all agreed.
Also ross if you want to start a thread about any other contenders please do , and im sure we all will be happy to discuss their weak and strong points , you take the fury stuff so personally , he is just a fighter who is being judged based on what we see.
