Re: Joe Joyce v Filip Hrgovic
Tough and close last round but I have Joyce 6-4 but could easily go the other way.
I do think Joyce should retire he takes too much, very slow and not the juggernaut he once was.
Re: Joe Joyce v Filip Hrgovic
Hrgovic won that by a mile.
Re: Joe Joyce v Filip Hrgovic
Hrgo for me on cleaner work. No matter what happens Joyce was way more competitive than I thought
Re: Joe Joyce v Filip Hrgovic
filip gets the unanimous decision
Re: Joe Joyce v Filip Hrgovic
Filip Hrgovic wins UD. One judge had it 9 rounds to 1. Which is insane.
Re: Joe Joyce v Filip Hrgovic
The last judge got it right 98-92. 150 power punches landed to the head versus about 30.
Just because Joyce’s head is made of iron doesn’t mean he wins the round.
I would hate to see a brain scan of Joyce and I worry about where he’ll be in 10 years time.

i could maybe see seven to three at most. joe was more active at times & filip kept going to the ropes. yeah joe might be a mess in a few years but a man has the right to earn his money the way he wants. people put their health at risk everyday in all sorts of ways

See in my my opinion “more active” s meaningless if your opponent is landing 5 times more power punches to the head.
Furthermore a man only has the right to earn money how he wants If he is physically fit to do so.
For Joyce’s own well-being he should have his licence taken away .

more active for me means landing more punches
Re: Joe Joyce v Filip Hrgovic
High quality chins & hearts, low quality everything else. Not sure where Joe goes from here. Sounds like he wants to go on. Why ? To be food for Itauma ? To fight Johnny Fischer ? Seriously where can he go ? He should retire, yes he's very lucid and talks fluid but I can see a James Toney / Tommy Hearns speech coming in later years.

what else can he do to make the sort of money he does fighting? i'm not sure if he has been smart with his money, hopefully he has. but if he hasn't then fighting is his best bet to set up his family

Well in that case the stats will show that Joyce wasn’t more active.

punch stats are rubbish. i trust what i'm seeing. joe was out landing filip in certain rounds
Re: Joe Joyce v Filip Hrgovic
That was fugly and not lying a little bit hard to watch. We're getting to a point with some guys where maybe mandatory retirement may be a consideration. Eating punches like that at 40 years old will stay on a man, in every way.
