What a fight, quality from both fighters. Rocky comes out good whatever.

I've got it as a draw, but those rounds were soooooooo close could of swung either way by quite a bit.

Barrera SHOULD get the decision MD I think

you got it right

Rocky had the latter rounds and a couple early. No complaints with the draw. Only Barrera's heart and experience kept him competitive late. He looked desperate and really suffering

i would say its time for Barrera to hang them up and look back over his great career...

maybe a nice easy fight to leave on a winning note... if im honest didnt like to see Barrera look soo beat up as he did :-\

i thought barrera did enough to get the decision, still it was an excellent fight...

that was too close though, i would love to see barrera rematch PAC but i worry somewhat....barrera took some damage out there...

WBC super featherweight champion Marco Antonio Barrera (62-4, 42 KOs) has all he could handle against Ricardo "Rocky" Juarez (25-2, 18 KOs), escaping with a twelve round split decision. Juarez rocked Barrera at the end of round three, but Barrera got his respect back the next round. Barrera had a big round six, but Juarez continued to stalk the champion and appeared to be getting stronger as the bout progressed. Juarez bloodied Barrera's face in the tenth and Barrera's mouth was hanging wide open. Both went toe-to-toe in a very exciting eleventh round. Scores were originally announced as 115-113 Juarez, 115-113 Barrera and 114-114, however the scorecards were later retabulated and it was determined that Barrera was ahead 115-114, 115-113 on two cards, while the other favored Juarez 115-114.

i agree barrera won...i dont recall the first 6 rounds that well cos i was still drunk but once the haze cleared i realised i was watching a very excellent fight...

barrera edged that and that....ive no doubts on that one...

MAB definitely won that fight!!! I had it 7-5,could have been 8-4. Rocky landed the bigger punches but MAB showed he could go to war still. Rocky was not aggressive or intense enough,had he put his foot down earlier,he may have won. I do admit,I would not bet on MAB in a Pac. Juarez has AWESOME power,he needs to throw more though,he's too reserved! That left and the straight right,great stuff! Kudos to MAB,who else is that age and fights young hungry warriors like that?!

Starr,MAB leading had nothing to do with it. Rocky lead for most of the fight,MAB stepped in when he needed to and looked impressive when he did. It was Rocky's power that caused the problems along with MAB's age.

If your interested I gave 3 7 8 9 10 11 to Jaurez and 1 2 4 5 6 and 12 to Barrera. I felt a draw was fair, either way there has to be a rematch i think. Unless Barrera hangs em up which might be the right choice....

Now...in closing...Barrera needs to maybe rethink his plan...whatever it may be...for the future.

I'd taken on JMM or Chris John...nail that fight with Chavez...and then maybe another swing at Morales after Pacquaio eats him one more time. After that close out the career with Pacquiao.

Juarez would have caused problems for all the top players...it doesn't mean that Barrera aint ready for Pac...not IWHO.

Then again...B aint gettin any younger.

Did you see MAB'S face,Juarez has awesome power,if he let his hands go more,he would be deadly.Question:Does he have the power to hurt Pac? Note I said that Barerra making Rocky lead was the reason he was winning because Juarez would catch Barerra in between times he tried to lead or when he was backing up ;)

That's the worst I've seen him look in a long long time...wierd...he hadn't been outta the ring long enough to get rusty...I suppose that Juarez is just that good & heavy handed.

THAT was the same Juarez that fought Soto? I don't think so.

Great fight and even thogh I would have Barrera winning, I can't argue with a draw. I watched the HBO replay this morning.
