Re: Fifa World Cup... GERMANY 2006 discussion thread (link to match schedules inc)
france have a cracking team but they cant play as 1, strange really, i mean a 2 nil win over togo aint amazing is it.
spain are the biggest underacheivers ever in the world cup but seem to have a good squad with torres leading the front line.
it will be a draw, and poss penaltys, im gonna go for spain though, just a hunch

Yeah, they don't link together!! I think France should play Dhorasoo more, and had they brought Pires and Giuly, they would have had pace and players that can link effectively with Thierry, something which Wiltord,Ribery and Malouda seem unable to do.You are right about Spain but this year, they are overloaded with strength in depth and Torres is doing well in a major tournament, something which Raul has never truly done,as good as he is.I'd like to see more of Jaoquin, old skool winger, just runs past players and gets the ball in.Very direct.

Re: Fifa World Cup... GERMANY 2006 discussion thread (link to match schedules inc)
and I think Spain will win 2-0,they have too much pace for France's aging line up.

Re: Fifa World Cup... GERMANY 2006 discussion thread (link to match schedules inc)
rodiguez just scored the goal of the world cup :o
-
Re: Fifa World Cup... GERMANY 2006 discussion thread (link to match schedules inc)
Had to feel for Mexico, they put up a great effort. As soon as the ball arrived at Rodriguez he was only ever going to do one thing, simply unstoppable, one of those where you know its in as soon as its left your boot.

I have a stupid question I was hoping someone here can answer, since I'm an American and don't know sh!t about soccer. How do you know when the game is gonna end? Since it doesn't end right on the 90 minute mark. When it hit's the 90 minute mark they still have extra time.

The game is ninety mins but the clock is stopped for injuries etc. An offical hold up a board with a couple of mins to go to say how many extra mins are added.
Also if score is level after 90 mins there are 2 extra periods of 15 mins each , bit like your overtime!!

F****** Mexico :furious2: :cwm23: :furious2: :cwm23: ahhhhhhhhh I say Margarito can KO the whole Argentinian team the F*** out ;D
gg though and an amazing goal by Rodriquez...........to bad it was vs Mexico :banghead:
-
Re: Fifa World Cup... GERMANY 2006 discussion thread (link to match schedules inc)
na would knock out most of em
but not tevez, he's a animal, would deck margarito
-
Re: Fifa World Cup... GERMANY 2006 discussion thread (link to match schedules inc)
:dontknow: nahhhh i think Margarito will swing and miss and Tevez would throw himself on the canvas waiting for a foul to be called.
-
Re: Fifa World Cup... GERMANY 2006 discussion thread (link to match schedules inc)
if it was a fight with no diving, tevez would ave him
well ugly with his lil fangs 2
-
Re: Fifa World Cup... GERMANY 2006 discussion thread (link to match schedules inc)
Margarito would crush the entire Argentinan team and I think he should pound Borgetti too,I mean he complained alllll night yet after 60 minutes,he did nothing, didn't chase after balls and was just poor. Mexico put up a great great fight and it was an epic encounter but Argentina showed that not only are they classy but they can also go the trenches!I fancy them to give Germany a hiding as long as they are tight at the back, although Heinze looked vrey very poor.
Todays' matches should be interesting,England are better than Ecuador but their terrible performances in the 2nd half and Ecuador's lively pace should make for a good match.I predict England 2-0. Holland and Portugla should be an awesome match!

you missed about 30 minutes of stoppage (ALL PORTUGESE PLAYERS TAKING DIVES, NOT ONE ACTUAL INJURY TOOK MORE THEN 30 SECONDS TO SORT OUT) and a ludacris 6 minutes of stoppage time aded at the end to make up for it >:mad >:mad >:mad
there should have been another 45 minutes added, if we were lucky MAYBEE 20 minutes of game time could have come from that, the portugese took dives and waisted a good minute of the stoppage time >:mad >:mad >:mad >:mad >:mad >:mad >:mad

Re: Fifa World Cup... GERMANY 2006 discussion thread (link to match schedules inc)
England's formation was quite good, but if I was Eriksson,I would have a dilemma because ok,Becks scored, but could you imagine how many chanes they would create if they put Lennon on? That boy is electric and his pace scares defenders. They need more support for Roooney up front and Lennon could give it but I'm sooooo glad Carrick got a chance,I asked for that ages ago!!
Still cannot believe the Walcott situation,is he even going to play?!?England seem to be gettig the luckk teams get when they go on to win the cup,Portugal are going to weakened and are there for the taking although if Ronaldo is tou, there is sitll Simao and Big Phil is tactiacally far superior to Eriksson so who knows?

If he was going to come on why not give him a few minutes during the group stage when things were more or less sown up for us and it's far less risky? How the hell can he be expected to come on at this point? ???

I guess that is the "Sven" mentality. I mean to even bring Walcott was ridiculous,I'm not even sure why Arsene signed him for us!! I have a sneaky feeling we are going to see him play at least a few minutes in the next match.

I think he is Arsene's sort of player, and Mr Wenger can see he has alot of attributes that just need to be moulded and i think Arsenal is the place to do it, but on the other habd he might turn out to be another Pennent for you, still not sold on him.
