Mosley surprised me. I thought he'd win but I didn't think he would knock Vargas out or even down like that. Did I hear Vargas say he thought he was doing well? Thats as messed up as Trinidad saying the fight with Hopkins was dead even before the knockdown ;D

You and me both I would have done better just picking names from a hat..

Did anyone else notice Vargas had 20 seconds recovery time . If the ref did his job Shane would have won by K.o after the knockdown but with the extra time Kenny Bayliss gave him it cleared his senses( a little )

He hit the deck at 50secs on the clock and Bayliss called Mosley back in to finish the job at 30 seconds . Doesnt make much difference cuz he was well out of it . Oscar and Tito could never hurt him that bad

Weve been waiting along time for Shane to return every performance since Forrst has been a let down but here some people were picking against him and he was sensational .

vargas did totally shit compared to before. mosley did great.

I have read that this is his last fight at 154 he is moving up to 160, look for him to be counting lights more often. Vargas is now a gate keeper to whatever division he will be in. I think Vargas has totally lost his ability to take a shot. It just seems to me that whenever someone has a quality chin and they finally get KOed their chin just goes away, which is what I think is happening to Vargas. Since being KOed by Tito his chin is not the same. Not saying it was great, but he could take a shot, but not anymore.

Well, every fighter that got KOd by Tito was never the same again....don't know if that was due to titos power or how his handwraps were done ???

Instead of looking at this as a excellent performance by Mosley I'm looking at it as a disapointing one for Vargas...the guy stood toe to toe with prime Trinidad and a VERY determined de la hoya and gave great fights in both.

CC..i agree about Vargas now being a gate keeper in whatever division he's in; and even though many are calling him shot I doubt he's gonna let many people through that gate

CC. It is going to have to be an elite fighter that gets through him. I dont see too many just good fighters getting past him.

I don't know about Vargas' chin from the start considering Quartey nearly knocked him out in his first fight at 154 ;)

Well I was wrong... Vargas looked flatter and Mosley looked sharper and I think Jack Mosley did a great job in his sons corner.

Shane has shown us that he improves in all of his rematches and this one is no exception.

Bring on Floyd... ;D

Well Mosley also had Vargas in more trouble then Delahoya or Trinidad ever did, everytime Vargas has been knocked down he was always quick to get up but last night he couldn't get up and barely made it, not Trinidad and not Delahoya hurt him that bad.

Actually we have a Delahoya knockout victim(was Mayorga stopped in the 6th too? :o ) vs. a Mosley knockout victim. One of them is getting knocked out, but Vargas ducked Mayorga for a reason, he knew that Mayorga had more in the tank then he did ;) And if they fought now I'm pretty sure Mayorga would smoke him but i think vargas' excuse for this fight will be 'my legs were gone.. it was so hard getting down to 154 and thats why it was my last fight.' or the classic 'i overtrained' excuse ::**
