Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Round: Jones vs Ajamu
I CC'd ya wacko, thanks.
I hope Roy will fight again, some stiffer competition, and do well. Doubt that he'll ever stand at the very top again but would be nice to see him head in that direction on his way to retirement. It would only take a couple more fights.

Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Round: Jones vs Ajamu

I'll give out coolclicks all around, except to violent demise of course.

He was great against someone that was good.
C'mon Wack. But he was good enough for people to think he'd beat Jones. I mean if all of that was percieved true then every site would be talking about what a mismatch this would be, did they?
The funny thing about opinions on fighters...if you have a fighter that you support & you don't have your balls hung out for him...your'e selling him short.
I have concerns for my guys...if I feel that it's their time to retire...then I aint 100% into them taking another beating.
He was good enough for people to think he could beat Jones...but that aint saying much because Jones has been beaten in his last 3-4 fights depending on how you look at it.
Badi was nowhere near Tarver or Johnson...even you can admit that...right?
I am glad Roy won...but to call out Calzaghe after that fight...scary.
:coolclick: s have been dealt.

Okay I am dumb....what are cool clicks?

Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Round: Jones vs Ajamu
:coolclick: Wacko, THanks it was not televised here in the philippines. Anyway, I'm so happy Roy put up a hell of a show. My one wish(two wishes actually) would be, that he would settle the scores with Tarver and Johnson. :crowd:

Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Round: Jones vs Ajamu
Jones carved him up, looked really good, but Ajamu was limited. I don't know if I wanna see Roy fight on... against top level comp again I think he's gonna struggle

Harris, Clottey victorious!
Saturday, July 29 2006
By Francisco Salazar at ringside
http://www.fightnews.com/fightnews_2...udcNLZYxZ.html
Former WBA jr welter champion Vivian Harris (27-2-1, 18 KOs) took apart valiant late sub Stevie Johnston (39-4-1, 18 KOs) Saturady night at the Chumash Casino in Santa Ynez, California. Harris dropped Johnson, a former two-time WBC lightweight champion, twice in round one, again in round four and yet again in round seven before referee Raul Caiz Jr. stopped it at 2:15 of the seventh.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
WBC/IBF #5/WBO #6 welterweight Joshua Clottey (29-1, 20 KOs) won a twelve round majority decision over IBF #15 Richard Gutierrez (21-0, 13 KOs). In a very rugged, sometimes dirty fight (both fighters were deducted one point for low blows), the superbly conditioned Clottey withstood a late rally from Gutierrez to win by scores of 116-110, 115-111, 113-113.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Super flyweight contender Nonito Donaire (15-1, 8 KOs) scored an explosive second round KO over Jose Luis Cardenas (6-7-1, 4 KOs). Donaire dropped Cardenas twice in the second. Time: 1:48.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Lightweight contender Rolando Reyes (27-4-2, 17 KOs) rebounded from his 12 round decision loss to Jose Luis Castillo with a fifth round TKO of Victorio Abadia (22-5-2, 8 KOs). Time of the stoppage was 1:15.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In a great toe-to-toe fight, Jose Antonio Ojeda (14-5-2, 8 KOs) outslugged previously unbeaten Juan Manuel Buendia (13-1-1, 8 KOs) to claim the California State Welterweight title. Scores were 78-74, 78-74, 77-75. The fight was a rematch of their draw at the same venue last month.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Lightweight Antonio De Marco (11-1, 8 KOs) scored a second round stop of Anthony Ivy (7-11-1, 3 KOs). Time 1:43.

Yes Ajamu isn't their level.
Whats wrong with calling out Calzaghe? I'll bet you a month of coolclicks that Calzaghe looks normal in his next fight :)

Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Round: Jones vs Ajamu
Jones needs to give it up, good win for Harris but Johnston well past his best days

If he looks normal against a fighter of superior caliber...but still wins...what would be wrong with that?
Yes I am back again...the wife is in the sack. ;D

Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Round: Jones vs Ajamu
The only thing good about a Jones/ Calzaghe fight would be the money. Jones ain't te fighter he used to be, & Calzaghe wouldn't gain much respect for a win

I see what you planned worked Duke. If you pick Jones to win great he'll lose. So you start picking him to lose he wins ;) Keep at it ;D

Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Round: Jones vs Ajamu
What did I tell you Wacko and the rest of the RJJ turncoats, backstabbers and haters?! Have faith. Roy dominated this guy! And was not in trouble once. Ajamu won the first round maybe and that's it. He bum rushed Roy just like I thought he would, but it didn't work. I hoped Roy would finish the job and stop Ajamu, but he had him ready to quit and won 11 outta 12 rounds so thats good enuff for now. Good job Jones, welcome back man! Jones needs another fight or two like this before competing against Johnson or the like, but he looked very good tonight, I'd give him a B+. He let his hands go and looked good, legs have slowed down a half step, but his hands were as fast as ever. :) O0
-
Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Round: Jones vs Ajamu
Yeah sure Jones looked good, but Ajamu was worse than I thought he'd be. Jones should quit while he's ahead.
-
Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Round: Jones vs Ajamu
Roy made 100% of what he has left and on that I say well done to him, however, I do not think it will be enough to get him near a world title, he has made himself one more payday, and I think that this is what last nights fight was all about. Personally, I'd love to see him fight jeff lacy, that would be an excellent fight and I think roy would have a good chance against him, Jeff would have a good chance also.

I think your right there, Lacy is the right sort of opponent for Jones. I'd much rather see him bow out now
-
Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Round: Jones vs Ajamu
i scored it 119-106
exactly the same as all 3 judges :o
jones dominated him

with this and the first fight on BAD it was truly the night of the low blows
-
Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Round: Jones vs Ajamu
yo the ref was BLUE in old school, could they find a more old as hell fragile ref to break the two up? he kept talking to the fighters and delaying the rounds. i cant believe he warned RJJ for extending his arms forward. thats RJJ signature gadge to counter with.
-
Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Round: Jones vs Ajamu
CC wacko just come online to check we where still online and to check the result ;)
-
Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Round: Jones vs Ajamu
CC wack, nice RBR but was RJJ impressive to you guys? I can't be bothered to watch the fight so I want you guys to tell me what you think!
-
Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Round: Jones vs Ajamu
roy jones was quite impressived to me because despite abadi blinding assault in early round roy jones appaerently did not afraid and still fighting with his trademark style. But i already knew roy would win it since the end of first round. ajamu was stupid enough to fired all his energy in the 1st minutes of the match and left himself breatless.
-
Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Round: Jones vs Ajamu
Yeah Jones was impressive, but Ajamu was really quite limited

The thing is...in a lot of fan's perspectives...your'e only as good as your last fight & technically both fighters looked great...against their perspective...errrrrrrr...challengers.

Hillarious. Jones looked as good as he did because he fought someone that was just his speed...slower than slow.
The funny thing is, you think that Jones needs another fight or two like this before competing against Johnson...or the like?
Please. Johnson IS the like.
Sure Jones looked good last night but giving him a B+ against a C- fighter just equates to an admitted C grade performance from Jones himself. Anyone who can be objective could see that Jones was fighting someone with little to no game plan or will to follow through with the attack.
Badji just stopped pushing the issue with Jones & Jones percevered...which is good for him...but honestly...I couldn't see him fairing well against any of the men that he called out.

I'm 90% certain that Roy Jones could beat the Antonio Tarver that lost to Bernard Hopkins, come on Antonio fought that fight like he was in a coma. Worse, he fought that fight like he was Danny Williams ;D

Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Round: Jones vs Ajamu
I am amazed in the lack of faith some of show in Jones's future ring endeavors it's sad and comical at the same time....The best thing that could have happened to Roy was to lose the way he did to Tarver, Johnson Roy has had to gut check himself and pickhimself up off the floor, something he has never had to do before and gather the pieces of his ego and persevere to become well rounded, mentaly emotionally,I think Roy would do fine against Johnson,Calzaghe...The ROy that fought last nite would have beat Glen Johnson...Calzaghe I have come to respect him and laud his accompolishments but he is not a solid one punch guy at Supermiddleweight so at Lightheavyweight he wouldn't exactly be turning Jones's head into a pez dispencer..Jones is faster than Joe it would be a good fight with Joe's work rate and Roy's Handspeed.....

Very nice.
Definently a Harris round.
