1st and for most I wish you a good recovery. I would like to express myself about your fight against Pacquiao. Thank you for going out a winner and a trooper you understood one thing that Pacquiao was superior then you and he had defeated you once again. You fought your heart out and it was clear from round that your only hope was to get PAC early you tried and you connected with some hard punches, but the powerful, younger phillipino they call PAC-MAN got to you one pebble at a time. All this time leading up to the fight I felt I was gonna get teary eyed regardless of the outcome of the fight.... Well guess what, thanks to you I didn't to be honest seeing you on the canvas as you winked and shooked your head wasn't nearly half as bad as seeing you go down in the second fight. When you wen't down for the last time I myself screamed to the t.v. set DON'T GET UP! DON'T DO IT!
Cause to me theres it's more important to see you walk out on your own 2 feet, then in a stretcher and or victorious. Erik thank you very much for ALL the greats fights you brought to us, your a true warrior and showed it tonight even in defeat you shined like a legend.
My letter to PAC.
Manny,
Where to start, I like you BUT you just finished off one of my heroes careers. To be honest I can't help it but be a fan of yours to see you with that HUGE smile, I can't help it but smile myslef. Your really something special and I look forward to seeing you in action in the future now I understand why you are so loved in your native country and in the world. Congratutalions on your win, tonigt you were the better then man and you deserved the win. Continue to strive for greatness, your well on your way. Wish you a good recovery.\
To both fighters go to your families and enjoy! the holidays take a break and enjoy life....

Thats the thing though
Hulk & the_answer I am NOT sad, I thought I was gonna be but I am not. I'm not happy but I'm fine I smiled through out both interviews and aplauded them both. Both fighters are well and the better man won, I hope that Erik doesn't fight again and calls it a night for his career. Theres no need to continue fighting, your place is set in boxing history....

I don't know what to say.....First time I've been speechless here...Erik....it's over... :'(
I respect Manny but you do not know how bad I want someone to get revenge and it boils down to 2 guys, Edwin Valero and Humberto Soto(2 former Morales sparring partners). And if anyone thinks MAB can beat Pac,you are deluded. He couldn't live with the ULTRA 1 dimensional Pac of 3 years ago,how will he beat, this VASTLY improved fighter?! Right hand, counters, jabs, and the left PLUS bodywork= P4P number 1 for me. 2 wins over EM,1 over MAB,1 over Larios, draw with JMM, and RING magazine number 1.That's TRUE P4P stats, compare his CV to his competitors,it's far beter and he was the man at 122 too. I'm sorry but ac is P4P number 1,no doubt in my mind.

And unlike Kostya Tszyu, Morales had a rematch with everyone that beat him(except Raheem)

Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds : Pacquiao Morales III
Don't compare KT to Morales. Morales didn't quit on no stool,Morales actually beat the guys that beat him except Raheem and Morales went out like a warrior and gave rematches to the guy that just tkoed him.
-
Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds : Pacquiao Morales III
To Morales,I want to say a fat thankyou and I sincerely HOPE he hangs up his gloves. He has given me so many great memories, made me become a boxing fan,and whether you like him or not,he's a true legend who ALWAYS gives the fans something to talk about, multiple weight world champ but actually fought the best in each division, never ducked anyone and was involved in 2 great trilogies with 2 future hall of famers(yes Pac will be HOF imo). Good luck to him in whatever he decides to do next, hopefully he can train Valero or something to get better and beat Pac for him. ;D :'(
-
Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds : Pacquiao Morales III
And Pacquiao, credit to him. He is a true true warrior and deserves ALLLLL the praise he gets. Amazing heart, stamina, power in both fists, great jab, nice movement, head movement, focus, drive, determination this guy has it all. He can go on to become a TRUE great by having more fights like this one. He ducks no one and has fully earned my respect,in fact,I'd consider myself a (closet)fan :-[ That picture of Morales holding his arm up is.....priceless.....symbolic....1 warrior, true warrior....passing the torch over to another......
I think Pac has it in him to KTFO Guzman,MAB,Valero, etc etc so the sky is the limit for him.

Morales wasn't completely washed up.....He did beat Pac only last year and was winning their battle this year until he got stopped. Nothing I have seen from MAB suggests that he would win, especially the fact that he has such a hard time with Juarez the first time, and Juarez is no pacman....

Sorry Adam, but I have no idea where you get your definition of most people, but I get up at the last possible moment that will allow me to have a shower and still get to work just about on time, so about 8.50am, and anyone getting up that time of the morning either work shifts or have young kids.
8:50... how the hell do you get up, eat, shit, get dressed and get to work in 10 minutes? ;D
Is it one of those comedy things where you run down the street half dressed still brushing your teeth? :P
didn't work shifts but I worked 7:30 till 4 full time so I always got up at 6:30.

I think ICE COLD answered that one fairly well,CC in 24. And you're right,MAB is no Morales,he hasn't given Pac a rematch after what 3 years?! He knew Manny would sent him into retirement which is why he chose not to fight him and whether he actually will eventually fight him is up for debate especially with this legal wrangle over Pacquiao between Arum and Oscar.

Well Imo the warrior spirit in Morales is gone . He sat out teh count shaking his head in just 3 rounds . He reminded me of Benn against Collins . Once the heart has gone , he may aswel retire . Barreras warrior spirit will never be extinguished . I cant imagine him going down like that but then again I could never imagine that happening to Morales . With 4 out of 5 losses its clear he isnt the fighter he was cuz he beat Pac not too long ago . This time though he was just thrown to the wolves

i picked rd 7 but aint supprised at all... reading back on Hairdoos post i think the point he was making was KT knew his time was up and got out of the game... good to see Morales do the same 8)
Morales can look back at what he has achived in this sport and retire a happy man A TRUE WARRIOR take note Mayweather of the sport thank you for the great entertaining fights you have provided me as a boxing fan over the years... even if i was always rooting for the other guy you were still one of the best p4p fighters of your time an have won this fans respect.

Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds : Pacquiao Morales III
CC for the hard work Wacko...it seems like Pacquiao's dominance in the odds were matched in the ring, and that Morales' career is nigh on over after this huge loss for him. I thought about getting up in the middle of the night to check in, but in the end i had to get up at 8.30am anyway, so i needed the sleep. Shame it wasn't more competitive especially for the Morales fans, but Pacquiao seems to have shown he's the best in the division by far, and will be for a while.
What have we got coming up next week, or is it wifey time mate?

Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds : Pacquiao Morales III
WOW just watched it...
Morales showed great heart with his attack on Pacquiao after his first knock down.

I think you might have missed on thing though...Pac has definently improved. He got hit with less punches last night...but when pressed this time...unlike the other 2 fights...he pressed back.
He took Erick's biggest weapon & used it against him. He beat Erik at his own game.
Respect to Morales. He's a great warrior...& if anyone wants to say that that is an overused word today...find me other fighters that fight the way that Manny & Erik do. There aint many.
Morales thought that he was in shape for the battle & he was...he wasn't thrown to the wolves...he was thrown in with a warrior, who by Morales's own admission, was just better than him. For that I respect Morales. He admitted to the fact that he had been beaten & that is that.
I'm a Morales fan through & through...facts are facts. Pacquiao is the beat 130lb fighter on the planet. Face it...he just is. Morales has 5 losses out of 53 fights. Morales could still beat top 10 fighters excluding Pac & Marquez. He lost to a boxer & he lost to another GOAT, Marco Antonio Barrera.
Nothing wrong with that. Saying "With 4 out of 5 losses its clear he isnt the fighter he was cuz he beat Pac not too long ago" could be as wrong as you think that it is right.
In all actuallity only 2 men have beaten him...MAB & Pac. Zaheer was a boxer & a mover...Morales is not dead...he's just hit the twilight of his career.
He should still be respected in my opinion.

Ofcourse he still deserves respect . The point im making is that look at the punishment he took from Barrera round after round in the 1st fight . His body was able to withstand it . Against Pac hewent down early and decided to sit it out . Now what im saying is maybe Pac got Erik at the right time just as Torrencampo got Pac at the right time . Erik shouldnt be judged on that performance , even the commentators said , " this is not the same Erik Morales we know " Morales was tired after just 2 rounds . No doubt in my mind that Pac was beating a washed up fighter

Apparently you didn't pay too close of attention watching Pac dismantle Barrera.
Middle of the fight MAB was looking for a way out...calling legal shots low, crying over butts that didn't happen, & sitting on his seat in disgust much like Morales did.
Barrera wanted his corner to throw in the towel...that's a fact.

Thats not a fact , its your opinion . Whats fact is Barreras champ and Pacs gota take the belt off him . If you are that confident in Pac then bet ya house on him. Barreras won everything since that night in Nov 03 Pac , Marquez and Morales have all gone on to lose .
I dont read too much into the Pac - Barrera fight cuz it was pretty clear Barrera lacked the focus of the Hamed or Morales fights . Pac is improving but he got beat by a faded Morales. As for the fight this morning , no need for over analysis . A strong Pacquiao overpowered a former great who cant cut it at this level anymore

Well...Pac's the champ now, also...again...& he's already taken Barrera once...he'll do it again.
ook who Barrera has fought since he lost to Pac. Look at who Marquez & Morales fought.
Also...don't start that goofy "If you are that confident in Pac then bet ya house on him." crap. I'm here to talk boxing not play "G-Unit thug life balla playa hater games". Any rational adult can enjoy boxing without having to pull his dick out...so let's not go there.
Barrera since getting his ass handed to him by Pac fought & beat Morales (who you say is washed up...who turned around & beat Pac) & struggled against Juarez...we shouldn't mention the other names on that record...point is...MAB is not ready for Pac...but let them fight & watch Pac eat him alive like he did the first time.
Barrera's days of fighting off the backfoot are over & he can not handle Pac's pressure anymore than Morales could.
Marquez the natural counter puncher is the only one that's got a chance.

Barrera by his own admittance stated that he saw a younger hungrier version of himself in Pac. Barrera knew that he was getting in over his head...& he ended up drowning.
If you don't want to over analyze the morning then just keep in mind that he has beaten 4 of the top 5 Mexican fighters...& that is saying a lot.
I hate to hear excuses being made for fighters when there are none.
Barrera got beaten because Pac was too fast, young & powerful.
Same to be said against Morales & Larios.
Pac drew with/lost to Marquez because of Marquez's counterpunching boxing ability.

Barrera got beaten because Pac was too fast, young & powerful.
Same to be said against Morales & Larios.
Pac drew with/lost to Marquez because of Marquez's counterpunching boxing ability.
Whoa cool down bro . Enough with the insults already . I can see youre still hurting form the Pac defeat last night . Thats cool, just give it a little time to sink in .
We evidently differ in opinions but you aint guna convinve me Pac is the second coming just cuz he beat up on a warmed up corpse . Likewise you dont wana see that Barrera has won everything since and can win a fight in second gear without putting all that much effort into it .
All I was saying is if you really think that Pac can beat Barrera then go bet big on it . Surely tha makes sense . I duno why ya have to start taking cheap shots at my sig for. Pacs been stopped before . What are your excuses for his defeats . This boxing anything can happen . Barreras been written off before and proved everyone wrong and he'll do it again . You'll see ;)

Excuses for who's defeats?
I'm all for Barrera winning...just like I was for Morales...I'm not a Pac-Fan...but you can't deny that the kid is quite the item at 130.
I didn't insult you...I simply said don't start that "If you are that confident in Pac then bet ya house on him." crap...I don't bet on crap or play those games...I just don't think that Barrera's gonna win it...he was all there prior to the fight & then everyone made excuses for why he lost...the brain plate & all that...the very plate that Barrera has had his whole life that he said was not a factor.
Morales made no excuses...too fast, too strong, too much for Barrera. ;D
***Missed my point I was trying to make...I don't make up excuses for fighters. If they lose they lose...legit issues are all that matter as excuses.

Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds : Pacquiao Morales III
They're showing the replay now here in the Philippines at 12:30 A.M. This is pure savagery but with a drama. I feel really sorry for Erik though. His body flew out on the second kd and the third looked as if he just let himself slip backward and fall; he definitely had enough of this savagery. That was a right decision and I wanted the ref to stop the fight after the second kd.

Pac has been K.O'd in a couple rounds twice , a NC with Sanchez . A draw with Marquexz which I think he lost then he got beat by Morales . Are his excuses for those losses legit ? He beats up on a faded fighter twice and everyone gets carried away but Raheem skooled Erik too surley with hindsight you can see that this wasnt a prime Morales . Maybe im being blind but from what I can see Pac has to prove it against Guzman,Barrios etc not a guy coming off 3 out of 4 losses .
I can see you are not much of a Barrera fan but you cant deny he has surprised many throughout his career . Pac is a strong , fit fighter with more left in teh tank at this stage but if he thinks he'll be facing teh same Marco again he'll be very much surprised. Look at the difference in the two Rocky fights . Metal plate , weight draining, socks etc . Doesnt matter what excuses you use Barrera will put it right next time. Pac is a furious fighter and Erik played right into his hands this morning . Lets see what happens in the Barrera rematch eh . There have been bigger shocks

Sorry Adam, but I have no idea where you get your definition of most people, but I get up at the last possible moment that will allow me to have a shower and still get to work just about on time, so about 8.50am, and anyone getting up that time of the morning either work shifts or have young kids.
8:50... how the hell do you get up, eat, S***, get dressed and get to work in 10 minutes? ;D
Is it one of those comedy things where you run down the street half dressed still brushing your teeth? :P
didn't work shifts but I worked 7:30 till 4 full time so I always got up at 6:30.
Ok guyz, you may stop arguing. Let me explain. I've been restless the last couple days and having some sleepless nights, maybe because of a pre-fight jitters (ya I know I'm not the one going up the ring but I can't help it) so I've been punching the keys on my computer to while away my time. You can see all my ramblings here at the Wacko's - that's what happens to people who don't sleep; got it, guys?

Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds : Pacquiao Morales III
On behalf of all Pac-fans here, thanx Wacho. And to Morales fans, we're definitely not gloating on this victory and if you say Morales would have ko'd Pac in his prime, I will certainly not argue with you. Luv ya all! ;)

Pac Beats Barrera again for me...
I know it
and even
Barrera knows it...
why do you think this fight aint happened Pac wants it he'll fight anyone even the avoided one avoided the rematch.
you can make a case for the distractions in there first fight and the metal plate in Barreras head but that just dont wash with me because Barrera has always had his rematches on fights lost straight away.
but not against Pacquiao and that speaks volumes to me ;)
oh that and the fact Barrera has been in wars but has never taken a beaten so badly like the night he faced Pacquiao dont think Barerra won a round if my memory servers me right....

he didnt just get beat that night HE HAD HIS HEART BROKEN.

Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds : Pacquiao Morales III
Saddo - Well Barrera won the 1st round against Pac 10-8 cuz of the knockdown but I could see straight away it wasnt a prime Marco cuz there was no intensity about him .
Barrera is a business man . Morales is stupid for taking rematches straight away when he isnt ready . I suppose Marquez is running scared of Pac too ? Barrera is a warrior and no way would he run from any challenge . Thats an insult to a legendary fighter . When the time is right he will fight Pac again and win . His stamina may not be what it once was and maybe his desireisnt burning as strong but he has a boxing brain that far exceeds that of Pacquiao and he will prove it ;)

Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds : Pacquiao Morales III
I always always hate these type of fights. Truth is i thought morales should of retired after his last fight with pac, but i didn't think he would, and wasn't shocked to hear of a rematch.
But these fights don't do either fighter justice, its always going to be 6 of 1 and half a dozen of the other. The truth pac most likley did improve alot, but also erik is far past his best and pretty washed up. So it's some people need to voice their opinion of of eik was washed up, which is true none the less, but unfair to pac 'coz everything he worked for is like ebing taken away from him to consider morales as just a wash up in the fight.
This is why, in fights like these i just like to take my hat off to both fighters, for once again getting in that ring for our pleasure (and a big fat check for them after:D) 'coz that;s the only way to give both fighters who really should't of been in the ring together to start with the true credit they deserve for the fight.

Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds : Pacquiao Morales III
guess we'll agree to dissagree mate but just for the record i never wrote Barrera off... i picked him to win against Morales in there first fight and i think he did just not on the score cards ;)
Quote:
Barrera is a business man
i agree with that in makes perfect business sence to avoid another brutal beating :)
Quote:
boxing brain that far exceeds that of Pacquiao
So has Angelo Dundee but i'd still pick Pacquiao to KO the ageing trainer ;)
Barreras brain told him the key to winning was to keep Manny at bay and avoid his power like he did against Naz just not get involved... the problem was he couldn't keep him off and got outgunned on every level ;)

Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds : Pacquiao Morales III
CC, Wacks for the DRBR...it is a late CC because I could not bear to hear the result of this bout.
All I will say is that it was a fight that didnt upset the odds. Pac was awesome and but a stoppage that early was a surprise. Morales did fight kamikaze style though. Aint no denying this. It made it end so early.
Im siding with GAME here. First off, if Barrera gets back in with Pac then he is a brave man. Second, he wont go to war in round 2. Thirdly, he has the all round skills to upset Pac.
I want this fight next....Barreras final year swansong must take place! :)

The only rematch he had str8 away after lossing was with junior jones.. first loss to morales, he fought 5 times (nas being one of the,) b4 he met morales again... and second fight after he lost ot pac he beat morales, who then went onto beat pac the next fight. Maybe beating te guy who bat the guy was enough for him - for then.

Well let me ask you this . How do you compare the condition of Barrera in the Pac fight to that of his condition against Nas. In 1 fight he was toned and in the other he was flabby . I wont say which 1 was which ;)
It makes good business sense to keep the fight on the boil so he gets more $ for it rather than going in with Pac when people just saw him get skooled by Marquez . Barrera knows what he's doing and the fact that so many people are jumping on the Manny bandwagon now , Barrera stands to gain more props when he does beat the Flip fighter . It will make perfect sense , you just havent seen the completed picture yet .
If anyone else had done that to Erik , everyone would accept that the Mexican is washed up but as it is they want to belive Manny is the second coming . You'll all coem crashing down to reality when Pac mixes it with a ring genius like Barrera . I also think Marquez has and will beat him and Guzman stands a decent chance . Lets put last night into perspective and move on . ;)
p.s well said miles - CC

Not only that but series of punches that Morales lands on PAC before the final knockdown, shet!!! Pacquiao shook them off and continued punching..... I thought surely, PAC would stagger but no he kinda stepped back but then threw his punches.....
A fight with MAB, would be interesting. Would MAB try to outbox PAC or would he go into the mouth of the lion and go toe to toe?
Very interesting match up, IMO but I personally would rather see JMM vs. MAB..... IMO better matchup style wise.....
