Re: Wacko's Drunken Round by Round just got owned by YoitsDan!!! Oscar vs Floyd.
Oscar may have an iron chin but the guys body is weak as hell look what B-hop did to him. Floyd throws his fair share of body shot and from what a lot of Floyds opponants say he his a lot harder than you think.

Uuuummm! B-Hops a natural Middleweight can easily fight at Heavy.
ODLHs a natural Welter.
He moved up in weight to a div. he shouldn't have but he did and he payed the price. PBF hits no where near as hard as B-Hop.

If he lands solid on ODLH, PBFs gonna break his 'Peanut Brittle' hands. ;D

You're kidding, right?
Let's put Floyd in with Bernard, and then compare Floyd and Oscar based on their performances against Hopkins.
That would be a sight ... Floyd and Bernard. How many times would Hopkins have to hit him flush to end the bout?
good golly miss molly.

DLH needs something like that to happen IMO, I feel the odds a stacked to highly against him. He needs that sort of break to even things up. Don't get me wrong I'd love DLH to win but it ain't happening. Floyd may not put on a clinic but it'll be close...

Re: Wacko's Drunken Round by Round just got owned by YoitsDan!!! Oscar vs Floyd.
i'm not saying Floyd hits as hard as B-Hop i'm just saying Oscars body aint all that resistant. The shot that hopkins landed looked pritty tame to me but Oscar still didnt get back up. I think Ocar was tired by then as he will be when he faces Floyd and yet again i believe he will lay down around round 9 -10

Re: Wacko's Drunken Round by Round just got owned by YoitsDan!!! Oscar vs Floyd.
Have we figured out what the exact size of the ring is going to be?
Looks like Kenny Bayless has been assigned as the ref.

Ya I'm neither here nor there on Bayless..
I will say that I don't think the ref is that big of a deal in this fight. These guys are both clean fighters, they don't have a history of fouling, they don't butt heads a lot, etc.
Obviously, in a fight this big, everything is important, but this shouldn't be the type of fight where the ref plays a big role.

Re: Wacko's Drunken Round by Round just got owned by YoitsDan!!! Oscar vs Floyd.
Bayless is fine I guess. I'm not to big on him because his counts are done at the very top of his lungs and he kneels beside a fallen fighter and that annoys me. Chuck Giampa and Jerry Roth have been chosen to judge the bout. Giampa and Roth both gave the Tito and Whitaker fights to De La Hoya, and the Whitaker one by a wide margin. But they also gave the first Castillo fight to Floyd by wide margins. Two of my least favorite Vegas judges. Don't know who the third judge is but I hope it's someone like Morett or Ross because Giampa and Roth make some questionable decisions on a regular basis.

Giampa didn't work the DLH-Tito fight. Roth scored it 115-113 for Tito.

Tom Kaczmarek is the 3rd judge, I ain't got not real problems with any of them really.

Was it Hamada that worked it then? Off on that I guess I'll have to check boxrec, was drawing from memory that one. I know they scored the Whitaker fight shit though ;D

Re: Wacko's Drunken Round by Round just got owned by YoitsDan!!! Oscar vs Floyd.
Well ayliss may have his hands full because one of Oscar's tactics is to be rough for this fight right? Get close to Floyd and rough him up. You can see it from the 24-7 programme when Roach is telling Oscar to push him,and telling him not to stop until the ref breaks them up or something.
WhAt does everyone think we'll see from Floyd? The track meet from Baldo? Or some awesome boxing like the Corrales fight?

Floyd has a hell of a mean streak in him too
Floyd is a notorious CRAFTY fighter  ;D...  Floyd will push off in the breaks with his forearm under Delahoyas nose and grind it in there.. Also he leaps in with the left hook and if he misses he pushes down the head with his forearm and just before the ref yells BREAK!!!! He hooks the guy to the head... All subtle CRAFTY little moves that rough up, tire out and slowly demoralize your opponent.. All the greats have somesort of subtleties to their repertoire

Ali did the samething with the forearm on the back of the head.He use to say that it wore down the opponents.I've seen Floyd lift his opponents head with his forearm and hit him(I think in the Bruseles and Gatti fights)

Comparing Hopkins to PBF is like comparing apples & oranges especially the fact that Hopkins is a middleweight & hits way harder! Oscar has fought tough competitors that hit him in the body so it will only slow him down but in no way end him!

to me body shots are less bout power and more bout time and acuracy ..... if u hit the right place at the righttime a piter patter can send u down...... but thhen again if u hit hard u can hit newhere and itll hurt

power doesn't hurt but i agree getting hit in certain places hurts alot more than others regardless of the force of the hit. I had a friend jab me one time right by my floating ribs and i almost couldn't breathe. Had another hit me with a hard punch (for him) higher up on my rib cage and it didn't bother me at all.

Re: Wacko's Drunken Round by Round just got owned by YoitsDan!!! Oscar vs Floyd.
The point that I was trying to make is that PBF doesn't go to the body like Cotto or Hatton & remember this, that will expose his chin that Oscar will attempt to capitalize on & test!

Re: Wacko's Drunken Round by Round just got owned by YoitsDan!!! Oscar vs Floyd.
I have another question. When was the last time Floyd fought with Reyes gloves?
-
Re: Wacko's Drunken Round by Round just got owned by YoitsDan!!! Oscar vs Floyd.
i think Floyd had them on when he sparked Corrales? .. Floyd's hands have become frigle, could pose a problem for him in the next match ..but hell this is boxing anything can happen and usual does .. watch Floyd go toe to toe and spark Oscar in the first. fucking hell ..

Re: Wacko's Drunken Round by Round just got owned by YoitsDan!!! Oscar vs Floyd.
Oscar is on the slide, in my opinion hes lost 2 of the last 3, he got taken out by b-hop and got a gift against Strum, the last fight was total BS as Oscar knew he could counter Mayorga all night long and he wouldnt have to move a lot or chase him down. I think this one will be a total shut out to mayweather pritty much like Tito got shut out against Winky. Tito looked amazing against Mayorga n then Winky brought him bak down to earth just like PBF is gonna do to Oscar.

The only way to truely know at this stage would be to sit in on Oscar's sparring sessions. It is possible that his ass is getting handed to him. :-\

Re: Wacko's Drunken Round by Round just got owned by YoitsDan!!! Oscar vs Floyd.
This fight really intrigues me,just because the "how well can Floyd take Oscar's shots?" factor.Floyd IMO is the better fighter from both but I haven't seen him with an opponent of the level of Oscar to be so confident that his plan will work out this time, and don't get me wrong,I have a lot of faith in him,I even put my head in the guillotine telling my friends that there is now way to Oscar is beating him ,but you guys are the only ones that really know that I think that Oscar has a chance,at least a puncher's chance.
Floyd is way too brilliant and elusive for Oscar, even if Oscar catches him I think it won't be flush enough to hurt him,and Mayweather will make him pay countering repeatedly.Oscar doesn't look that good against defensive fighters, and Mayweather is the best D in bussiness tied with Winky IMO.All Oscar does is to start flurrying like a maniac with no accuracy when he gets hit or outboxed in an exchange so he doesn't look that bad in the judges eyes.So to me is a punchers chance, maybe he can get him in the ropes or something, but Floyd will be prepared for anything,he has all the tools to beat him fair and square, and his ring smarts are the best in the biz.
Floyd UD ;)
