Re: COTTO V JUDAH - who wins and how ?
Cotto KO in the 8th.....Miguel will be hurt a couple times and Zab will run but he'll get caught.
Baldomir doesn't have much power but damn he rocked the SHIT out of Zab
-
Re: COTTO V JUDAH - who wins and how ?
Judah is a simple timing situation.. You give him about 75% speed and power, let him set his pace, then when he drops his hands and backs str8 up, ( a habit that he will take to his grave) , you then slide forward at 100% behind the left hook on his retreat, be ready to watch him dance and then fall.. Cotto will cash him out inside 8 rounds. 8)

Re: COTTO V JUDAH - who wins and how ?
Cotto is better in all aspects of the sport. Cotto stops him early as the 2nd round if Zab wishes to trade or 6th if Zab decides to run. All could change with a lucky punch though but it aint happening ;D

Re: COTTO V JUDAH - who wins and how ?
You know if this was a year ago, I would rate Judah's chances a lot higher. When Cotto has got hurt in the past, it's been when he was walking opponents down. And that's what he'll be doing against Judah. But I've seen a lot of improvement thoguh in that aspect. He doesn't just do the earmuff thing anymore, he actually throws coming in. I haven't seen last nights fight yet but against Quintana he was very active moving in and moving out. So I think he's a lot better off coming in and moving out then a lot of people expect him to be.
And Judah, well I think his skills are overrated. He has good speed and pop but a very subpar defense and he isn't right around the edges. You can hit him with the straight right whenever you want basically, he gets hit a lot moving in or out and he drops his hands after every single punch. Most of the time when he is moving out, he's doing it hands down moving straight back. He's such an egotistical fighter and he thinks he can get away with doing all that and he won't get hurt. Then of course when he does get hurt he collapses.
I think we can count on a good 3 to 6 rounds from Zab before he is broken down. He's crumbled against guys who hit a lot lighter then Judah and it only takes one punch for it to happen. Even if he doesn't have a mental breakdown, I think Cotto is the more polished and disciplined boxer of the two.
So I'm picking Cotto. Possibly by late round KO but more then likely it'll end up a lopsided UD.

Cotto doesn't have a golden defense either. And You should watch the Urkal fight.. if he walks into the Judah fight like that then Judah may win it.

Re: COTTO V JUDAH - who wins and how ?
this fight could go either way. im picking judah because i think judah can hurt cotto just like chop chop did. the difference is judah will finish him. after judah wins everybody will talk about how he's grown up and how focus he was.

how you figure that
the only thing cotto has on judah is power.
i give speed, defense, footwork to judah
both there chins are questionable IMO

Agreed, basically.. I would give Cotto stamina and focus as well, but to say he is better in all aspects of the sport is clearly BS. Judah is way faster, and though his chin is bad like you say his defence and foot work are better, along with overall skills. I pick Judah to win this fight, to be honest... But I will refrain from being to opinionated on the matter until the fight is closer to happening. I think a lot of people let their hating Judah influence the chances they actually give him to win.

I've seen the Urkal fight and yeah it was a bit sloppy but it wasn't like it was a bad showing or anything just not spectacular. And Urkal was basically in there to survive and it's always difficult to look good against a guy like that especially in your home town. But yeah it wasn't Cotto's best and he would be doing no good to his chances if he fought the same type of fight against Judah but I have reason to believe he won't. Judah is the biggest fight in his career so far and it's a lot easier to get up for a fight like that then it is to get up for a fight against Oktay Urkal. And he still won without getting hit all that much so I don't take to much from that fight.
-
Re: COTTO V JUDAH - who wins and how ?
cotto gets a question mark in the stamina category also. i have this memory of him fading in fights. that might of been when he was at 140 and was due to him trying to make weight.

Cotto had pneumonia the week of the Urkal fight and fought anyway. Cotto said " that’s what champions do fight through it" .. He went str8 to the hospital after the Urkal fight and was still hospitalized as a few days ago. Cotto is a real warrior , he have good mental toughness. Zab is a snuff queen in comparison . all the intangibles favor Cotto at this stage..

I am going to regret this but....I have to agree......
Judah is (and I always say this) one of boxings biggest waste of talent.....IMO he has it all but the mental make up of a champion...If Zab could only hold it together mentally he would be P4P easy....
Like VD said Judah is desperate and needs this win...Not so much wants but NEEDS!!!!...He loses here it is has been land for him.....So if Zab comes in on point and half focused i see him edging out a decision....When Zab is motivated he is dangerous....
-
Re: COTTO V JUDAH - who wins and how ?
its a tough one to pick. could go either way really. i hope cotto i'm not confident enough to pick either of em yet.

i agree with ya bud. zab has what it takes to finish cotto.but i think if cotto catches his right he will knock him out.

Good Point bruv.
Even if that wasn't the case Juda has enough talent to get Cotto out of there pretty quickly.
Given the circumstances, this is a very, very hard fight to call....
Candidate for FOTY? Its gotta be! 8)

Re: COTTO V JUDAH - who wins and how ?
Judah will do well for first 5 rounds he may stagger Cotto few times but when Judah's workrate starts to drop and he loses his concentration he gets beat down and is stopped on his feet in the 10th
-
Re: COTTO V JUDAH - who wins and how ?
Judah wins every single round. Until Cotto catches him to the body and Zab folds like origami. Judah has the tools to defeat everyone in the division; he just doesn't have the will.
-
Re: COTTO V JUDAH - who wins and how ?
you never know with zab, he was shit against baldo but real good against pbf ( at beggining) . If zab is on his a game, he can take an easy win , many would be shocked. Cotto isnt much of a boxer, just look how he was getting tagged by Urkal, zab is faster and stronger than urkal. so if zab shows u in good shape he wins a ud but if he comes in in similar shape as when he fought baldo, cotto will take advantage of judah in the middle-end rounds and ko his weak chin. Zab needs to do alot of stamina work or else he will be doomed cuz he will have to move , duck all day while cotto won't leave him for a while. This should be a superfight!!
-
Re: COTTO V JUDAH - who wins and how ?
Zab takes the fight AS LONG AS he doesn't take any flush body shots from Cotto.
Zab has the speed with power on the back-up enough to frustrate Cotto, as opposed to Malignaggi, where Cotto could simply ignore getting hit.
At any rate my guess would be Judah UD.
Personally I am really looking forward to this fight.

Re: ***Done Deal - Miguel Cotto vs Zab Judah June 9th!***
Update on this is Zab is now fighting Ruben Galvan....
Who JCC Jr. blasted out in 4 rds.... :-X
Nice warm up fight for Zab, I think it's clear hear that Team Judah does not wan't to ruin the chances of Cotto-Judah that is why they dropped Cardona and replaced him with Galvan.

Yeah after the fight, he said he didn't want to hurt Spinks any worse because he knew Cory had a wife and kids.
Obviously he doesn't feel the same way about Floyd, since he did his best to make it so Floyd couldn't have any more kids.

I give this fight to Zab Judah.
Zab has avery good chance of wobbling cotto's legs like allot of fighters do.
Then it's in for the kill
-
Re: ***Done Deal - Miguel Cotto vs Zab Judah June 9th!***
Judah is a shit fighter. he winds easily after throwing combo's and need a long time to get his breath Zab deteriorates swiftly as the rounds go by.. Cotto will smoke his ass. even the tune-up guy on ESPN has a chance of beating Judah.. .. wouldn't that be a fantastic watch . yeah boy !

Judah is not a shit fighter.
He has his problems, but who doesn't?
Let's look at his losses
Kostya Tszyu - #3 p4p at the time KT catches him with a beautiful right that would have put just about anyone at 140 down. He staggered yes, but got right back up and was ready to go for more.
Cory Spinks - Close match, each fighter gets knocked down.
Carlos Baldomir - Judah was hurt, and ran obviously not one of his shining moments
Floyd Mayweather Jr. - #1 p4p very competitive, about 1 out of every 10 boxing fans think that Judah won. Close
match.
He has held titles at 140 and held the unified title at 147.
Judah keeps his hands low, loses focus et. al.
but I still think he is in the top 5 at the welter weight level right now.
Amazing speed and reasonable power, can always make-up for his short-comings.

I Agree in the fact that this is going to be and exiting matchup. I just hope they can build up a good undercard.

Re: ***Done Deal - Miguel Cotto vs Zab Judah June 9th!***
Awesome. Ive been interested in this fight for a long time now because i think the styles make for an exciting match up. Zab Judah, despite what many skeptics have been saying is still dangerous and fully capable of turning things into a long night for Miguel Cotto. I believe to win, Cotto is going to have to keep the pressure on Judah, utilizing that vicious body attack; which he may not be able to get working until about the fifth or sixth round when Zab starts getting a little slower. Once that happens; if it does, Cotto should press the body attack relentlessly, moving up to the head now and then to mix up the rhythm. Zab needs to realize his conditioning has been a big factor in his last two fights and it's not like after a one year layoff, Judah has set up any more than one tune up for a tough opponent like Cotto (This may likely be the telling factor of the fight; the amount of ring rust that hangs on Zab Judah. Fully fueled and rust-free, Judah can hang with the best out there (against Mayweather, I had him winning the first four rounds pretty convincingly). But beyond just conditioning, he's gonna need focus and a good gameplan...and he's gonna have to stick to it. Zab should look to outbox Cotto and keep him outside; feint, counter and circle Miguel into a position to connect a big left to Cotto's chin and do some big damage. If he can do this without gassing out, he stands a very good chance at taking out the undefeated Puerto Rican superstar.
-
Re: ***Done Deal - Miguel Cotto vs Zab Judah June 9th!***
Zab always looks the goods but after Kostya touched that chin you can 'put a fork in him he is done' against anyone with pop.
-
Re: ***Done Deal - Miguel Cotto vs Zab Judah June 9th!***
And that is why I don't think it's a smart move from Team Cotto to fight Zab.
Whats the reward in it ???
Please! SOMEBODY elighten me.....

the reward is huge mate .. We get to watch another cheese ass dance from the loud mouth obnoxious cunt ! CC # 1354
