That was a really REALLY close fight that demands a rematch...but Barrera didnt sount to interested.

That fight was gotdam amazing!!!! No shit. Marquez shocked the fwock outta me.

OMG wehat a fight, I was exhausted and thought I might drop off if it got quiet, but it was awesome!!! MArquez deserved to win, but I had him by two, or at most three rounds, not that BS judges scoring which they have turned up with the third big fight of the evening.

After round 7, and an awesome punch which kept Barrera in the fight, I reckon that my main memory of tonight is going to be never to trust the judges in Vegas. Are they on a one-way quest to embarrass themselves and the entire profession, because the D-Hop judgement was dodgy, I though Penalosa was much closer than the cards suggested, and that Barrera was much closer. It's silly really, cause it was a great night of boxing, and my main thoughts are about fu**ing judges instead of about great boxing bouts.

the margins were wide again but to be honest it was a bastard of a fight for them to score and i wouldn't have complained if Barrera had won or a draw.

i think Nady was bang on with the point deduction.. Barrera can be a cheating fucker sometimes so for me it serves himself right that he missed out on the KO for such a blatent foul.

but all in all if this is Barrera's last fight he has gone out fighting and has given me some fantastic entertainment over the years... ducked no one and deserves to retire as a great and count his money 8)

I agree, the judging situation in Vegas really needs to be sorted out. Got up at 8 to watch this card (Its free on TV in Thailand ;D) but anyway some of the recent decisions really need to be sorted out. Hatton-Urango wasn't as far as they said it was. 3 fights on this card with grossly bloated score cards. Rabah-Urango ect...

This really needs to be sorted out its the type of thing that puts newcomers off boxing. I had Marquez by 2 rounds personally.

Juan Manuel Marquez became a two-division champion, winning the world 130-pound championship from Marco Antonio Barrera via unanimous decision. The official scores were 116-111 (twice) and 118-109.

Didn't see the scores here, thought I'd post them.

Im appalled by the judges. Absolutely sickened by the margins. :(

A great fight, a wonder to watch and that round 7 was one for the time capsules. That was clearly a knock down though and Nady must be insane to think otherwise. I have watched it repeatedly and cannot for the life of me determine why it wasnt a knock down!?! Barrera should not have hit Marquez for he was clearly down. The gloves, both gloves were on the canvas.

That was an extremely close fight and thought Barrera edged it, but I will need to watch again with a more relaxed frame of mind.

Again, I would like to reiterate that that margins in Marquez's favour were too wide. Capital punishment should be brought in for a jackadaisical judiciary!!!!! >:mad

And why didnt Nady step in quicker after Marquez was felled in the 7th?! Barrera waited an age before throwing that uppercut!! :-\

in all fairness to Nady and i hate the fucker BUT he was on the blind side of the KO shot and he also had ahold of Barrera's arm when Barrera pulled it free and threw the shot.

I had Penalosa winning and he did not (I thought Penalosa hit the defining shots the whole night. Most of the shots from PDL were caught by the gloves or arms of Penalosa. If it were an amateur fight, maybe PDL will win it because of work rate).

I had Marquez winning it and he did, but not by a mile.

If this is the way the judging goes with Golden Boy promotions, I hate to see the scoring in the OLDH Mayweather contest.

the last time i drank that stuff was a shitload of shots on Holiday i was acting all big drinking it out of the bottle when the barman turned around.

i dont remember much after that... i was told by the wife that 3 different people carried me home, the bartender got me down stairs, a german guy carried me to the taxi and the hotel poter carried me back to my room hahahahha

aint touched the stuff since :-X

The judges in the Dhop fight were replacements & inexperienced. Nady’s a great ref…he was just in a bad POV if you ask me.

Agreed. THe point should have been taken. Barrera was wrong on the headshot.

Loved the fight. No shit...the drunken commentary should have shown that much. I loved it.

I was really rooting for JMM as he should have his moment years ago. MAB started really strong and I can't find out how JMM would respond as MAB's always a step ahead. But the Great Counter Puncher he is caught MAB with his right hand changed the fight in round 6 onwards. The knockdown I believe is legit and the scores should have been much much closer.

Rafa Marquez v Vazquez,awesome fight.
JMM-MAB-ONE FOR THE TIME CAPSULE,BEAUTIFUL BOXING,AT HIGHEST LEVEL
and the WARRRR between Katsidis and Earl.

I'ts very rare for a fight to live up to its super high expectations but this one certainly did. I loved both fighters and didn't mind who won although I thought JMM had it by 1 or 2 points.However,there is no way MAB slips too far down P4P lists imo,he is a fwocking warrior and a great great fighter,one of the best of all time.

As for JMM,he FINALLY proved he belonged with the elite,most of his fans have believed him to be the equal of MAB,EM and Pac and now he has proved it.He was superb.His combinations in round 7 and onwards were phenomenal.

I'm not going to argue with anyone over who they thought the winner was,I'm just going to congratulate and applaud 2 great great fighters for an amazing amazing fight. And I'm waiting for my 1gig version to finish downloading so I can watch it again ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

And I know we are all shouting for a rematch,myself included,I can't help but wonder that winner of a rematch won't have enough left in the tank for a Pacman fight. These types of fights,at this stage in their careers,is INCREDIBLY gruelling. Indeed,what if there is a trilogy? :o

You k now after waychting the 7th round again for the 30th time now, why is everyone crying foul that Nady did not see the knockdown BUT no one is mentioning the fact that MAB could have been DQ'd for hitting JMM while he was down?
As I said I really thaought Nady was gonna DQ him, but once I saw him reach for Mabs hand I realised he was just gonna deduct the piont......

I mean if your gonna cry foul about the knockdown then lets also dish out the fact that MAB should have/could have been DQ'd....
