Re: Klitschko v Ibragimov - World Heavyweight Title UNIFICATION DRBR
other than nationalism or a desire for a great white hope, i can't see how anyone could be excited about vlad.
-
Re: Klitschko v Ibragimov - World Heavyweight Title UNIFICATION DRBR
Wlad should change that nickname to Dr. Slap Hammer after that garbage performance
-
Re: Klitschko v Ibragimov - World Heavyweight Title UNIFICATION DRBR
Piss friggin poor unintersting weak piece of dogshit, limp wristed Heavyweight champ....

-
Re: Klitschko v Ibragimov - World Heavyweight Title UNIFICATION DRBR
So to sum up. Wlad has centre of ring, slaps the jabs away........
lands a couple of jabs.......
throws the right about 10 times in 12 rounds.
crowd boo.
what a poor spectacle that was.

doesn`t this show how intelligent Wladimir boxes?
He might boxes too smart to be up for a fist throwing battle. He doesn`t need it...as you can see...

Re: Klitschko v Ibragimov - World Heavyweight Title UNIFICATION DRBR
To be honest with you, I actually stopped listening when the scores were announced, it might be unprofessional, but hey, I ain't a professional. I think I heard the last one was 118-110. Klit grabbed a UD anyway, and although it was deserved, the mixed reception he received by the fans was entirely justified as he didn't exactly set the hw division alight!
Fightnews quotes 118-110, 119-110 and 117-111.

Re: Klitschko v Ibragimov - World Heavyweight Title UNIFICATION DRBR
also
stop with the anti-klitschko non-sense
sultan is hard to hit
klitschko was landing the jab and sultans head wwould movce after, so he wasnt following it up with a right, and when he did land the right sultan cam right back at him so he backed off, HE BOXES, THATS WHAT HE DOES
-
Re: Klitschko v Ibragimov - World Heavyweight Title UNIFICATION DRBR
I really think there overstating Wlads jab in this one..........He has a great jab but hear half of the Extended lefts were Clubbing downward glove shots.
Max sucks as an Interviewer

Re: Klitschko v Ibragimov - World Heavyweight Title UNIFICATION DRBR
lets hear all the Klitschko apologists now :beat:

Re: Klitschko v Ibragimov - World Heavyweight Title UNIFICATION DRBR
F*** I missed it because I had to go get my wife from he sisters...From what I am reading though it was nothing to miss:mad:...F'IN Wlad either he is great or Garbage...Nothing in between with him....
As My Avatar says...Lennox Lewis was the last great heavyweight and it will be a long time before we even see a dull comparison...Bring back the 90's
-
Re: Klitschko v Ibragimov - World Heavyweight Title UNIFICATION DRBR
After tonight's example of what is supposed to be the pinacle of heavweight boxing,,, they should scrap the entire f'n division and make all these heavyweight fat bastards actually have to exercise to lose some weight and actually look something like REAL fighters, and REAL athletes at a weight that doesn't classify them as overpaid couch potato's with swinging arms..
Their would be MANY past champions rolling over in their graves if they knew this is what their division has come down to..
-
Re: Klitschko v Ibragimov - World Heavyweight Title UNIFICATION DRBR
Wlad says: "I was holding my hands but I had to make sure I would land them. Sultan is a counter puncher.
I think they keep Ibrag on the same strategy. He did have trouble with my size and he was trying his best.
I'm not looking for it, but it is coming by itself. I will just keep winning all of my fights."
-
Re: Klitschko v Ibragimov - World Heavyweight Title UNIFICATION DRBR
Really difficult fight for Wladimir...that was PART of my worries.
Wladimir used his jab well, didn't throw the right cross enough, and his defense has really improved which was another part of my worries.
Povetkin should be a good EASY fight for him right now
I don't want him to fight Chagaev anytime soon if it's going to be like that

Hey the last pudgy southpaw Wladimir fought was a DANGEROUS fighter.....and props to Sultan for taking those shots, he has a better chin than I thought.
Fighting a southpaw like Chris Byrd is one thing, fighting a southpaw with power is a TOTALLY DIFFERENT ANIMAL!
-
Re: Klitschko v Ibragimov - World Heavyweight Title UNIFICATION DRBR
Wlad is a pussy, who dosent throw straight rights against a southpaw??? a gun shy wuss thats who... and its to bad that he refuses to assert himself when he knows damn well he could have dominated.. that exchange were he landed the 4 punch combo that should have been a knock down was proof.. Wlad could have doubled up the jab and then launched the right behind it..
-
Re: Klitschko v Ibragimov - World Heavyweight Title UNIFICATION DRBR
It may well be a different animal, but Klit used his jab as the sort of tazer to keep the animal from getting too cold. I think that boy could do with a few fights against some of our old guard, to keep him busy.
Maybe Tony Booth might ruffle his feathers a little
-
Re: Klitschko v Ibragimov - World Heavyweight Title UNIFICATION DRBR
Hey,There reairing the Louis Doc. On HBO now. A must see . Louis got screwed over bigtime.
-
Re: Klitschko v Ibragimov - World Heavyweight Title UNIFICATION DRBR
After all of Max Kellerman's talk of "Did THIS FIGHT make Klit the world known heavyweight champion?"
He said that like 10 times.. I was hoping he'd suggest that Lennox comes out of retirement and beats Wlad, so that we know who the "WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMP" is, and Max Kellerman will be able to fall asleep at night.. god damn.

No he was not. Based on what? His draw with Austin? His win over the ready-for-the casket Holyfield? Or his win over "Goofy" Whitaker?

that was hard mate so no shame in losing focus.... everyone don't foget to rep this guy ;)
-
Re: Klitschko v Ibragimov - World Heavyweight Title UNIFICATION DRBR
You guys obviously don't realize that this was one of the last steps to Wlad coming "full circle" as it were.
Wlad had a skeleton in his closet and that skeleton was a power punching southpaw.
Wlad just showed he can take one on and take him down.

Yeah but you said fighting a southpaw with power was different. Sultan is not known as a power hitter. Even the HBO crew was saying that

He's got 17 KO's in 22 wins.....he had enough power to KO Lance Whittaker and landed a BOMB on Ray Austin.
This is why everyone hates southpaws!
-
Re: Klitschko v Ibragimov - World Heavyweight Title UNIFICATION DRBR
Anyhow, Klit is one step on the way to unifying the world title, and if he does get another of the champs then hopefully he might actually look to be even more offensive.
-
Re: Klitschko v Ibragimov - World Heavyweight Title UNIFICATION DRBR
I think Povetkin would be a good safe fight for him next.
As far as other title holders....I can only hope Valuev beats Chagaev in the rematch
-
Re: Klitschko v Ibragimov - World Heavyweight Title UNIFICATION DRBR
again,
klitschko was landing the jab and looking for the opening to follow it, it wasnt coming cuz sultan moves his head after he is hit, also he pulls up the left and shoulder rolls
sultans awkward stance also made it easy for him to shift his head after he was hit with a jab, he would go down and to the right of klitschko and raise his left, and it gave klitschko an odd angle
sultan can find a way to hit someone from an odd angle and klitschko was being carefull not to miss a right hand and let sultan have an easy counter
sultans style makes him hard to hit and klitschko likes to pull back the left and exchange it for the right, and there was no opportunity as the left would come back and sultan was in another place
i think klitschko was afraid of going all out and getting caught with a hook, people are being so anti-klitschko cuz they think sultan was an easy fight, alot of underestimating has been going on lately:mad:

why?
to see klitschko fight valuev?
if thats the case i dont think theres any chance of klitschko valuev IF valuev has a belt, but i think we may see it if he doesnt
i would fucking LOVE klitschko valuev
JAB - STRAIGHT... VALUEV IS DOWN, CANCEL CHRISTMAS, KITCHENS CLOSED, ITS DONE!!!
-
Re: Klitschko v Ibragimov - World Heavyweight Title UNIFICATION DRBR
...did anyone expect Sultan to fight that way???
Sultan was giving awkward angles and he wasn't successful on offense
but he didn't let Wlad KO him.
In the end 2 fighters are in the ring some styles don't match up and these didn't do it for the fans, I am not trying to dismiss that but are you fucking serious when you say it's the "most boring fight ever".....I think there are a ton more fights that beat this one out for being boring.
-

It wasn't the most boring fight ever. Byrd-Willamson deserves that honor. But it was a garbage fight. And Wlad walking around with his right hand cocked for most of the fight deserves some of the blame for that
-
Re: Klitschko v Ibragimov - World Heavyweight Title UNIFICATION DRBR
Im sorry but it was not even a technical fight....It was I'll respond when I must (Wlad) and I'll (sultan) look to play pot shot artist
Honestly Sultan can market and push this into another top show....Very deceptive for appearance as a capable boxer and Wlad has to find the bigger picture
