This is what I was talking about. Spinks definitely isn't the same fighter in the second half of the fight.
Where did the jabs and straight punches go? For the last round and a half, they've been gone. Phillips is giving Spinks power a lot of respect, he's looking for openings to get inside, he should just give some movement and walk him down.
They are trading well on the inside, especially in the 9th, that's what Phillips wants, and that's when he can throw without jumping in. Now in the 11th they are trading well again. Spinks looks a bit refreshed though.
Phillips needs to stop lunging, needs to realize he isn't going to time Spinks because Spinks is to fast and now he needs to walk this guy down. Distance is a bit more closed now. Interesting to see what happens.

Wasn't a bad fight, the boos are ridiculous, that wasn't a bad fight and at least you had two guys actually willing to fight. Don't quite get it.
Spinks controlled the fight though, definitely the ring general in there. Controlled distance the entire time, and his punches looked crisp as always, very nice footwork, not much clinching and he very rarely took a step back.
Verno just spent to much time lurking on the outside. He needed to get inside more but instead he just took his time waiting for the next time to jump in.
