At least Hlatswayo was fighting welterweights!
But I see where your coming from & I'm really not too fussed. Should Mayweather beat Pacquiao he will sky rocket straight to 2nd anyway.
But for now I agree that Zaveck should be demoted below Floyd

Apart from the Marquez fight, Mayweather had fought fighters who all had credentials at Welterweight. I mean I see your point & it's why I wouldn't have had him ranked above either Mosley or Cotto when he re-entered the rankings, but he has got some merit at the weight. Let's face it we had Pacquiao ranked when he had yet to fight a welterweight (Oscar not being one in the same way Marquez wasn't).
Jan Zaveck will be demoted below Mayweather by a vote of 3 - 1
Lamont Peterson remains in the pool by a vote of 5 - 0

Should Shane Mosley (currently #1) vs Andre Berto (currently #4) be for our championship?
Shane Mosley
Andre Berto

He has not fought at the weight in over a year & has nothing scheduled. Additionally, he has not won at the weight since his 2005 win over Miguel Angel Gonzalez.
Luis Collazo
Drop him to the pool, his effort vs Berto was impressive but he has do nothing of note since, he can always earn his way back in
He should be pool bound, I hope he makes his way back up the rankings, but he needs to earn his ranking by winning a fight.
Luis Collazo drops to the pool due to inactivity by a vote of 3-2

Both these fighters have indicated they will not be fighting at 140 again.
Should we keep them ranked or leave them in the 135 & 147 divisions solely?
Manny Pacquiao
Juan Diaz
I voted drop them both, if a fighter makes an announcement like that it's as official as it gets for pro boxing (even if in reality it's not that definitive)
Both Pacquiao & Diaz drop out of the rankings at this weight

Forgive the late spot on my part, but there are 2 possible pool entry fights coming up tonight and Saturday that are worth a vote.
The first is the Freddy Hernandez/DeMarcus Corley fight
Freddy Hernandez
DeMarcus Corley
The second is Saturday's Luis Carlos Abregu/Richard Gutierrez match-up
Luis Carlos Abregu
Richard Gutierrez

How far should DeMarco drop following his defeat to Edwin Valero?
Antonio DeMarco

Who should fill the vacant # 9 spots? (both Pacquiao & Diaz have left rankings)
Nate Campbell
Victor Ortiz
Hector Alatorre
Marcos Rene Maidana
Victor Manuel Cayo
Lamont Peterson
Herman Ngoudjo
Has 2 b that badass Maidana:thumb:
Dude got wreckd:jabbing:
2 da pool
Have to go with Maidana/ Cayo winner should it come off
More pressing should be how the hell are Katsidis or Rolando Reyes still ranked above Valero? I apologize if this is in fact being ammended or something, not familiar with these rankings just saw the thread from the main page.
Same here, why is Guzman in the pool too? Based on his last performance?
Both Hernandez & Abregu enter the pool
The Maidana/Cayo winner shall fill the #9 position at Light-Welter
DeMarco drops 1 spot to 10th
In regard to the points raised by Althugz and p4pking, we operate a 'beat the man to take his spot policy', however, with fighters like Reyes holding a spot & fighting very irregularly, it may be one we need to re-examine in some way. Regardless of that as impressive as Valero was last weekend, you can make an argument for Katsidis having the better resume over the past year as Chavez and Escobedo are as impressive notches at the weight as Pitalua and DeMarco.

Kendall Holt - Boxer
Holt was outgunned and blasted out in 6 rounds by previously unrated Kaizer Mabuza. This is Holt's second loss in a row, so there is an option to drop him directly to the pool.

Should Juan Manuel Marquez & Juan Diaz remain rated at 135? Both have not fought at this weight in over a year & their last fights have been at higher weights.
Juan Manuel Marquez - Boxer
Juan Diaz - Boxer
I say straight to the pool. He has been inactive for nearly a year. It was his second straight loss. Mabuza was unranked. He took a beating & quit on his stool. Freefall...
I don't mind keeping them both in for now, but if either fights at a different weight class for their next fight they should drop.
Yep...straight to the pool.Let him fight his way back.Side question why not the winner of Maidana/Cayo for # 9 rather than 10?
Nice work on graphic updates and status for pool members btw.Great touch
Straight to the pool. I was going to use my manager vote this month to demote Holt anyway, but since he's going, I'll deal with Mabuza. I think everyone ranked 3-7 (apart from Hatton who will be gone in 2 months given that his next fight is likely to be at Welter) should be above him.
Killer, I seem to have sorted my computer, so I'll get back to doing the votes & updates next week, unless you want to continue doing it.
I've heard they're in negotiations for a rematch in mid-late May, leading to JMM then likely fighting Hatton if he gets past Senchenko.
So keep them in.

For my manager vote, I'm going to ask to demote Mabuza from the #2 spot. I would have done this with Holt anyway, since I feel that the respective winners of the Alexander/Urango & Khan/Malignaggi fights have more rights to be ranked right behind Timothy Bradley. Hatton also as the former lineal champ is more deserving imo.
I'll probably look to demote Mabuza next month, nothing against him, but Holt shouldn't have been as high as he was imo, as he hasn't had a solid win free of controversy since he beat Ben Tackie.
I have to think on this one a bit, I mean he beat the #2 guy, and he himself has been pretty active and winning. I totally get what you are saying about Holt's inflated status, but then we have Hatton who was lineal champ as you said, but he has been inactive as well. To be honest, I'm not even sure he's going to get back in the ring. I've only heard rumors so far. I'm leaning towards leaving him where he is until the Malignaggi/Khan fight results and then pulling down from there. That way we can see if he books a good fight or packs up and goes home.
My vote for Diaz should be to the pool at 140. Pushed the wrong option. His last 2 fights have been at 140 for reginal trinkets, he hasn't fought at 135 in a year & that fight was a loss...
I'm happy with Marquez staying for now as he only moved up to get a shot at Mayweather
I'm sorta torn like killer. Mabuza has been active & on a winning streak. His last 2 wins especially have been noteworthy! Hattons been inactive since Pac destroyed him & could be facing removal in 2 months anyway. Malignaggi is 1-1 in his last 2 & 2-2 in his last 4. Alexander's just really come on the scene & Urango is 1-1 in his last 2, although the loss was to Berto at welter. The winner deserves credit but does it carry them ahead of Hatton & Malignaggi? I'm not sure, for now I say he stays where he is
He beat number 2, he should be number 2.
Brotha bea Holt bad:jabbing:
Let him have his moment:thumb:
Diaz should go to 140:p
