doubt it, Chavez now crying to the ref about borderline punches

So far zbik was much tougher a fight

Re: Chavez Jr. vs. Rubio Saturday night fight thread
Looks like Jr is changing it up here and just moving around... ???
-
Re: Chavez Jr. vs. Rubio Saturday night fight thread
Chavez is having a breather.
-
Re: Chavez Jr. vs. Rubio Saturday night fight thread
more body work & steady pressure... he'll get the ko.

he's putting himself in what should be a dream position for Rubio, he's dipping down and is wide open for uppercuts, but Rubio is just doing a lot of chasing little anything else
The weight, physicality of Chavez is huge here. He's literally mauling the shit out of Rubio who is throwing zero straight shots so far...he needs to piss or get off the pot. NOW!

exactly, IMO Rubio is fighting as he did against Pavlik which in other words means he's not fighting much, he needs to time Jr and catch him coming in and just let his hands go

Re: Chavez Jr. vs. Rubio Saturday night fight thread
So far I have JCC winning this comfortably...

Rubio's only chance is to hurt Chavez Jr, and that doesn't seem likely.

Re: Chavez Jr. vs. Rubio Saturday night fight thread
Rubio needs to flip the script and go all uppercuts...Chavez is totally bent over and leading with head (butts)...and his left wing elbow gives Floyd a run for the money
-
Re: Chavez Jr. vs. Rubio Saturday night fight thread
How many times if the ref going to warn Chavez about his elbows before he takes a point.

he's completely open for the uppercut and Rubio had success with it early in the 8th, they seriously need to make a ruling on how much weight u can pack on over night, cause 22 lbs in 24 hours is just ridiculous
-
Re: Chavez Jr. vs. Rubio Saturday night fight thread
Who could ever forget the way Jantuah knocked Rubio the FAWK out... :-\

Re: Chavez Jr. vs. Rubio Saturday night fight thread
I totally don't buy those punch stats from the last round.
-
Re: Chavez Jr. vs. Rubio Saturday night fight thread
Chavez is winning, but it is closer than Lederman says. Rubio needs to finish sharp and strong to make it close.
-
Re: Chavez Jr. vs. Rubio Saturday night fight thread
Seeing JCC Sr makes me think if he smiles too hard his face is gonna start tearing...
-
Re: Chavez Jr. vs. Rubio Saturday night fight thread
fuck this dude seriously, Chavez Jr Vs anyone at 168 should be next, this is beyond ridiculous on what this kid has to do to be competitive, 22 lbs heavier, headbutts, pushing with the elbow, and constant bitching to the ref :-\
-
Re: Chavez Jr. vs. Rubio Saturday night fight thread
I have it 6-4 JCC2, I think Rubio snatched the last two.

I see it similar, isn't one sided in the slightest. Lederman needs to retire.

I agree with the weight bullshit. Chavez looks like a moose next to Rubio.

Re: Chavez Jr. vs. Rubio Saturday night fight thread
Chavez should lose a point for that chicken wing elbow...he uses it as a default blatantly.
Rubio should just take the stool out next round and hope that all the judges are blind...as per norm :-X
-
Re: Chavez Jr. vs. Rubio Saturday night fight thread
What a round!!
HBO completely ignoring Rubio's good work there, I gave him that round.
6-5 JCC2
-
Re: Chavez Jr. vs. Rubio Saturday night fight thread
Rubio took the 11th too IMO. He needs to let it all go in this final one.

Sr. used it too however he was smaller in size so he could hide it more and was slicker at hiding it.
-
Re: Chavez Jr. vs. Rubio Saturday night fight thread
Fucking HBO, I guess Chavez is the only one throwing any effective punches.
-
Re: Chavez Jr. vs. Rubio Saturday night fight thread

Re: Chavez Jr. vs. Rubio Saturday night fight thread
Lampley screaming Raging Bull :p....He needs to bite a sidewalk!
-
Re: Chavez Jr. vs. Rubio Saturday night fight thread
7-5 JCC2, Rubio just couldn't figure out how to take a step to the left.
-
Re: Chavez Jr. vs. Rubio Saturday night fight thread
so what did we learn tonight? that Donaire is still a cocky little fuck whose defense is nowhere as good as he thinks it is and who taunts while getting punched in the face, and that Chavez Jr can beat guys who fight 2 divisions lower than where he should be at, sorry but not an impressive night for either guy
-
Re: Chavez Jr. vs. Rubio Saturday night fight thread
I think Chavez won by a couple of rounds, but I think that was largely because Rubio allowed Chavez to do what he wanted too often. He should have jabbed more and circled, but always straight back.
Good fight, but Chavez bulled his way to the win against a willing opponent. I'm still not into Chavez. I would like to see him against Pavlik. That would be very fun.
-
Re: Chavez Jr. vs. Rubio Saturday night fight thread
I'd love to see Martinez vs Julio Jr, I think Sergio clowns him and he's got the power to knock him out.

True..JC superstar blended the shifty arms and grind in there, but his left to the short ribs and liver makes son look like a one gear brawler, to me. Papa was a master in punch placement.
-
Re: Chavez Jr. vs. Rubio Saturday night fight thread
his mouth says Martinez, Margarito, and Cotto
in reality he means Sergio (Mora)
-
Re: Chavez Jr. vs. Rubio Saturday night fight thread
Sergio would not only beat JCC Jr but he would emberrass him as well...

Donaire looked rather ordinary tonight, but he's still one of the best p4p fighters in the world, I know you hate him ElTerrible, but he is good at what he does.
I guess we'll have to wait a while to see Julio Jr. get KTFO. :-X

Re: Chavez Jr. vs. Rubio Saturday night fight thread
Don't know if people know this but Freddies nickname as a boxer was "The Choir Boy"
