Povetkin vs Huck predictions & also Cleverly-Tommy. Let's talk!!!

I didn't score it but I thought that Huck won. The skill level was not pro quality but a hard fought fight. If Povetkin was going to leave the bulk of his roadwork to his ring-walk he should have at least done a 15 minute dance routine. Two very tough guys.

Yup...if he could have stopped Povetkin from diving forward head down, and would have allowed them to fight on the inside, then Huck would've done it.

Huck is game but not very good. Povetkin can box a bit but if someone like Huck can trouble him he is not going far. Dirty messy fight. Exciting at times but felt a bit like tough mutton at the end. Felt like spitting it out. Boxnation are dreaming if they think that was a throwback classic. Nowhere near.

Povetkin needs to work on avoiding right hands. If he upped his defensive tactics, he would be a solid heavyweight. I like his combination punching. Huck seemed to just have a right hand.

Would anyone call Huck a 'dirty' guy...in the few clips I've seen he drags some elbow like a pro?

I didn't see any elbows I must have missed those.

Pov would lean and bull rush forward so Huck would just shoot 1st ask questions later.

he had a deal with povetkin that stated that he would be pov's trainer when he's training in the US. but he won't travel to train him because he has a contract to do commentary with espn. pov's people tried to get him to break his contract with espn. teddy said no.

There is something about watching cards outside of your own country that gives the sport a fresh feel . Like the entire intros at start...judges, ref, fighters etc

Agreed, this was an entertaining fight, definitely worth watching, I thought Povetkin probable won, but by a score of something like 115-113, the 12th could have been called a 10-8 round for Huck, because of Povetkin looking so out of it.

Neither guy would have a prayer against one of the Klitschko bros, but that doesn't mean there's not some other good fights out there for them @ HW.

yeah but that happened a a while ago... atlas trained him since they backed out of the klit fight.

116-112 was too wide in my opinion.

I had 4 rounds that I noted on my scorecard as very close by putting a star. I gave 2 to Huck and 2 to Povetkin.

I scored the fight 115-113 for Huck. I wouldn't have a big problem with 115-113 Povetkin as that is just someone giving Povetkin all 4 close rounds. But scoring it 8-4 for Povetkin is too wide. I thought there was 5 rounds that Huck won that I didn't have to put a star by on my card.

That is what I'm tired of on boxing judges. 8-4. really. There is no way in hell Huck should only have won 4 rounds.

Cleverly is alright and could become a good fighter- odd to say about a world champion. He needs to shoot the right hand instead of waving it like he does, and it wouldn't hurt to give himself some room. He's too close, kind of smothering himself.

Obviously Dawson would crush cleverly then

Cleverly is working fine, just finish the fight. I'd tell him to lay in and work the body like he's been doing, then slide right and shoot a right. He needs some room to punch.

I'm a fan and I'm thinking you're right. Fair enough Karpency is a survivor, but he should have finished him. However, Cleverly didn't have many KO's when he was younger either, but a win is a win, and Karpency is lucky to escape with 120-108 x 3.

Really like his left to the body. He throws his hands around like a spaz too much though. Theres zero reason for anounce team to keep dropping names of Hopkins, Dawson etc.

I think that is true- he does a whole bunch of stuff that is pointless. Too many slaps, taps and waves. That type of thing will get you hit. Cleverly looks like a fighter and has some skills- I'm a little curious why they haven't got him turning on the right hand, and he could use his distance better.

Good point, Roach was pointing out the not sitting down on shots but more so he didn't seem to throw alot of basic stuff. Fast but lots of wasted motion for little reason. Fights really hyper.
