Kayode is a bit weird and Tarver is delusional.
Kayode's STILL shouting in the background. Hilarious!
I am 90% sure Kayode said I fucked him up.
I am 100% sure I didn't understand another damn thing he said in the 60 or 90 second interview.
Pretty crap fight for the most part, a draw was the right call to me. I thought both guys almost swept 6 rounds, pretty rare to see that happen at a high level. Tarver merely needed to do something before rounds 5 or 6 and he would've taken that, but he did look slow and clumsy, and only started to land well once Kayode was breathing hard. A rematch would be alright, but I wouldn't mind seeing Tarver fight Marco Huck as he mentioned either. Both guys were being tools afterwards as well, neither have much to be proud of tonight imo.
thanks Hulk. I see someone speaks Kayode.
Don't know which boxing writer it is on twitter, but one of them this morning/late last night, said that he was interviewing Kayode in the gym this week, Kayode was going on a rant, and then a good friend of Kayode's told Kayode he had to slow down as it was obvious that the boxing writer couldn't understand him at all.
Kayode sucks, and woulda got ko'ed by a younger Tarver. and his voice annoys the fuck outta me!!!
saying that, I was disappointed in Tarvers early round bullshitting, and not doing enough in the last few rounds when he had Africa wobbly a few times. Tarver let him off the hook too many times, when he coulda won this by a bit more pressure.
Tarver needs to retire...
Seemed like Kayode was under the belief that because Tarver works for Showtime as a commentator, that somehow tainted/influenced the judging and decision. However, if that were the case then Al Bernstein wouldn't have seemingly scored the bout for Kayode nor would the decision have been a draw, it would have been a win for Tarver.
I think when listening/watching to post fight interviews we do have to take into account that they just fought for tweleve rounds and got punched in the melon a few times. Emotions and ego are running the show not a cool calm collected head. It doesn't give them carte blanche to run their mouths off but we shouldn't be too critical of what they say.
