Lyle lost and big time. Computer games was how he lost to me. He lost to others too. He didn't accept defeat. He should say sorry and end graciously.
Why should I say sorry? Sorry for what exactly miles?
Of course, sorry doesn't cross the lexicon of Lyle.
And I am sorry for what too? I am sorry. I was always right though.
Do you have a point?

Stay classy bro. Thankfully you have Saddos to act out your internet tough guy and faux intellectual personas.

Re: Romney vs. BO - Saddo's kids race mongering thread
I've told miles he can carry on talking about me however he wants and I won't respond. I can only hope that appeases him. Apparently miles is of the belief that because the election went the way it did that my views and beliefs are not valid (eventhough my state voted for Romney and for a new Republican Governor, 1st one in over 20 years).
But hey I'm going to let miles have the floor and he can debate VC or Mars or just continue on his usual rants. If miles asks me for a response I might give him one, but other than that I'll just leave this political discussion to him and him alone.

They can't, but they do. However, I really will just do what I want. I don't care.

Neil deGrasse Tyson is pretty much one of my heros. While he is dedicating his life to education w/the sciences, basically the Carl Sagan of our time, he still manages to keep a fairly good handle on reality when spreading the message.

But I'm certain Obama will have some good news in these 4 years, I mean it's not like he'll go back to blaming Bush again
And once again why defend Obama? You said "It doesn't matter who gets elected" or were you just hedging your bets?
No, that's up to today.
And the markets are off by a point or two because of a bunch of bad economic news in europe and the fact that now the prez -- whoever got elected last night -- has to deal with a big budget problem before the end of the year.
NEW YORK, Nov 7 (Reuters) - U.S. stocks dropped on Wednesday as investors renewed their focus on a looming fiscal showdown in Congress after the re-election of President Barack Obama, and comments by European Central Bank President Mario Draghi fed concern about Europe's debt crisis....
"The election is over, nothing changed. It was fun, but it's kind of like a roller coaster - you just end up where you started but there was lots of excitement in the middle of it," said Ron Florance, managing director of investment strategy for Wells Fargo Private Bank based in Scottsdale, Arizona.
"We are now squarely focused on what are you going to do about the fiscal cliff and how is Europe going to resolve this (debt crisis) problem, those two problems haven't gone away."
And I'm "defending Obama" because you're wrong about why the markets have dropped. When there's an agreement on US budget issues and europe issues yet another plan to kick the can down the road then markets will jump a few points but the Drudge Report won't tell you about that. Again, it's another irrelevance. If you want to know what the markets think of Kenyan socialism you need to look at things over a slightly longer period than five minutes. Try looking at the graph I posted.

Wow facing down students you are sooo terribly brave. Solving the world's problems in a classroom.....and the most ironic part is.....that classroom hell the entire COUNTRY YOU CALL HOME wouldn't even fucking be there without the United States and men like VC who serve in our Armed Forces.

Re: Romney vs. BO - Mars blows baby goats and fondles children.
Ya I don't know what it is with miles, as I tend to avoid most of the conflicts, but these kinds of outbursts are way over the top and seriously stretch the boundaries. Not sure if it was any actual real conflict, or just that me and kirkland were having too much fun pasting pictures and it somehow had to once again become all about miles.
It's okay to just let others have a little fun sometimes man. And even an argument or two also. And just sit back and watch without having to turn the dial to ELEVEN to make sure everyone hears you.
So anyway, back to the butthurt. It just keeps rolling in.

Re: Romney vs. BO - Saddo's kids race mongering thread
I don't think another four years of Obama as president is going to do most of us any good at all...which is exactly how would feel if Romney had been elected. Two good things did come out of the election:
First, I have been wanting to buy a new firearm for some time now but haven't got around to it. Now I'm motivated, before the newly re-elected regime bans them. Which we'll ignore in Montana anyway.
Second, Denny Rehberg lost to Jon Tester in the Senatorial race here in Montana. He had these two ads "They're not twins but they might as well be!" (referring to Tester and Obama) that just ground my gears.

I'm not mad about the election results I'm sick of miles' bullshit. Easy to be all high and mighty in south Korea but he never once stops to think why he's free there. Its not because someone taught the Chinese English its because people fought and died for the freedom he enjoys.
There is 0 I can do about the election, I want my country to do well going forward but I am no fan of Obama his last 4 years were bad enough.

He (miles) probably means well. But when he starts throwing comparisons around, comparisons which include Nazi Germany and Hitler... that's where I draw the line. Everyone's entitled to their opinion, but sometimes I wonder how much of it is real... and how much of it is meant for "shock value." ;)
Regarding Obama, I know you were fully expecting some grief from those of us who wanted Obama to win (or wanted Romney to lose... subtle but significant difference). But kudos for taking it on the chin and coming back to chat with us anyway. And kudos for wanting the country to do well, above all else.
But the biggest kudos of all will come if you can keep an objective mind, and are big enough to credit Obama when he DOES something good for the country... (which he's bound to do in the next 4 years). He'll screw some up... and he'll get some right. Let's hope he gets a lot more rights than wrongs. You're a bit pessimistic in this regard, I know. I'm a bit OPtimistic. I hope I'm proven right.

I'm curious what you consider a "powerful automatic assault weapon"? Regardless, the GOP gained in the house. He can do some things by executive order to impede 2nd amendment rights but the Brady ban isn't coming back.

Re: Romney vs. BO - Saddo's kids race mongering thread
I know. Considering I normally think the feds do too much, I am generally ok w/gridlock. Some buddies of mine that are political junkies we're discussing the "fiscal cliff". I felt that due to losses in the Senate even more so than Romney losing show a complete loss of the Tea Party momentum. I don't see them willing to risk the backlash of no compromise and felt they would blink first in a game of brinkmanship with the POTUS. My buddy that is a big time Dem disagreed. He doesn't think Obama has the balls to really dig in and force major concessions from the GOP. He believes a compromise happens but that the Dems give up the lion share of the issues.
-
Re: Romney vs. BO - Saddo's kids race mongering thread
Either way the country loses. I've never been fond of this gridlock you mention. Ideally, if you disagree on an issue because you truly disagree, partisanship be damned... then fine. But when party lines and loyalty are the deciding factors, it truly muddles things up. Any direction is better than no direction, IMO. It happens here (P.R.) too. We have mostly a two major party political system. When the governor from one party wins, but the other party gets a majority in the Senate and/or House, it's a fucking nightmare.
-
Re: Romney vs. BO - Saddo's kids race mongering thread
The worst thing that can happen is a watered down compromise that simply kicks the can down the road. Unless the GOP is willing to get behind big DoD cuts, increasing top marginal rates, the Dems are willing to make serious entitlement reforms and both can agree on REAL tax reform then we will get some bullshit that both parties believe they can sell to their base as a victory. I am skeptical that there are enough true leaders to make the best decision not the best political move. That being said, I'll take gridlock.

Lyle, you are a fool. Do you seriously think I even respect Korea with its racist ways? Or Britain with its colonial repressionist past? Or America with its horrible support of torture, murder and illegality? Get real. If there is wrong I will say as much and refuse to participate.
I will bandy about comparisons with Nazi Germany because I am not a subject and don't care about appeasement. Tito wants nothing more than to be one of those baggy clothes wearing Americans and thus apologises for a nation that has killed tens of millions all in the noble pursuit of making the world a better place for all. Hitler believed the same thing.
Power corrupts and America has had unchecked power for far too long. Of course those within the borders and in the colony states bow their heads and say yes to master. But they have no self worth.
