Re: Amir Khan to fight Saul Alvarez for WBC world title in Las Vegas
That is all crap from Khan but he is a dead man walking and is allowed to say all these lies before he gets smashed. After that no one will listen to him.
-
Re: Amir Khan to fight Saul Alvarez for WBC world title in Las Vegas
If he gets embarrassed against Canelo I hope Brook/his mob tell him to fuck off if he starts calling for that fight.

Hearn has said that the money he was offered would be substantially less when, not if, he loses.

Khan is now becoming a bit like Audley, good media men actually doing more work than the boxer or trainers. Hope he gets hammered.

Awful Khan and canelo article
Jeff Powell is an awful writer in general but have a read of this...
Including great lines such as canelo won't knock Khan out because he's not a once punch KO artist like Danny Garcia.
Sorry but has Garcia ever one punch knocked out a good fighter? Not even Khan which .took him a good 30 decent shots.
And Khan wouldn't be getting up if canelo hit him like he did trout in round 7.
Ridiculous.
I think Khan can win but more in a 20percent chance than 50_50 ... I hope he does!
Shame he has shit writers like Powell talking all this crap on his behalf.

Re: Amir Khan to fight Saul Alvarez for WBC world title in Las Vegas
Khan has been wasting his career recently waiting for the big fights which did not materialize. Khan is now stepping up 2 weights for a super fight against a fighter in his prime. His only strategy is to fight like Floyd to win.
Khan is in big trouble.

Spot on!
I can't help but see some similarities with Haye now that I read this. Obviously not the going up 2 weights part. But one of my biggest beefs with Haye is how he insisted at one point in fighting no one but Wladimir. In "Monopoly" terms, go directly to "GO"..... collect $200. Instant reward without having to work your way to the top.

Re: Amir Khan to fight Saul Alvarez for WBC world title in Las Vegas
Wrong. Canelo will NOT fight GGG. No matter how spectacularly he KTFO's King Khan.
-
Re: Amir Khan to fight Saul Alvarez for WBC world title in Las Vegas
apparently its been agreed
-
Re: Amir Khan to fight Saul Alvarez for WBC world title in Las Vegas
Source please.
GGG has been adamant (as well he should) that Canelo fight him at 160.
We all know Canelo is scared sh*tless of seeing GGG across the ring regardless, especially at anything close to 160.

I wonder if Khan does better than Matthew Hatton did.

Because nothing good ever comes from America.

Re: Amir Khan to fight Saul Alvarez for WBC world title in Las Vegas
Golovkin has already dismissed this fight saying its bad for boxing. Any promoter even mentioning a scenario where Khan faces Golovkin should be charged with premeditated homicide. If Canelo should be in a bad car accident, mugged and fall out of the ring resulting in a broken leg before the bell and Khan wins, I think they're keeping Jacobs as a next match up.

Don't worry, I'm American so I'm allowed to say that

Canelo should be fighting at 160. Big difference. Moot point anyway. Canelo will retire Khan.

Don't you know? Khan is the new SRL!
I predict he'll defeat Canelo and GGG then go on to win a belt at 175 as well! Lol

Re: Amir Khan to fight Saul Alvarez for WBC world title in Las Vegas
Khan is so bitter and twisted after being snubbed by Floyd and PAC that he feels fighting Brooks, Thurman and Garcia is beneath him.
Instead he is going to be knocked out by Canelo for a lot of money and then try and negotiate fights with the best welterweight fighters on the back of his crushing loss.
Genius of the self inflated ego.

Fucking hope so, fed up with all his bullshit, he's not good enough to get the top opponents, why doesn't he just stick to sports relief on the fucking BBC and then a come dancing stint, rant over.

Re: Amir Khan to fight Saul Alvarez for WBC world title in Las Vegas
Khan is a decent fighter, good speed and technique, decent puncher, a bit chinny. Always makes for an entertaining fight.
Unfortunately, the problem for him, and his career and image is that he is as thick as a bowl of raw mince. Just listen to him talk, it's painfully obvious, bless him.
-
Re: Amir Khan to fight Saul Alvarez for WBC world title in Las Vegas
Khan's ability to take a good punch is also in question. He's been knocked out at lightweight and junior welterweight.
But Khan believes he can replicate Mayweather's masterful performance from three years ago. Khan also feels he is stronger and quicker than Mayweather.
Since that loss to Mayweather, Canelo knocked out Alfredo Angulo in ten, won a very close twelve round split decision over Erislandy Lara, knocked out James Kirkland in three and won a twelve round decision over Miguel Cotto last November.
"I don't think there is nothing crazy about [taking this fight]. Look, Canelo is a guy who lost to Floyd Mayweather....a guy who is not a bigger puncher than me and a guy who is probably not as quick as me. Mayweather is a great technician and a great fighter in the sense that he knows how to set a game plan and stick to the game plan," Khan explained to BoxingScene.com.
"So obviously we know the blueprint to beat Canelo. Mayweather showed it. With my skills, the movement and speed that I have, I think that I can beat Canelo."
So that's it then. All Khan has to do is fight like Floyd and he beats Alvarez easily. In fact he's faster than Floyd and hits harder so it'll be an easier night's work than Floyd had.

Re: Amir Khan to fight Saul Alvarez for WBC world title in Las Vegas
Khan has got some seriously annoying groupies. I stopped watching a press conference from today because they were jeering/shouting/booing over Oscar, Canelo and his team.
-
Re: Amir Khan to fight Saul Alvarez for WBC world title in Las Vegas
I like it. When Khan replicates the Mayweather blueprint, I predict he will go right to 168 and lure Froch out of retirement. He and Andre Ward even have the same trainer, another easy game plan.
-
Re: Amir Khan to fight Saul Alvarez for WBC world title in Las Vegas
Khan has convinced himself he lands as hard as Alvarez??? I think the punches have caught up to him.
Poor fella will look like a frantic kitten crossing the highway before end.
-
Re: Amir Khan to fight Saul Alvarez for WBC world title in Las Vegas
I know on the night Canelo will look in a different weightclass but the size difference isn't noticeable.

That's the WBC peace plant that's going on the media tour. Makes perfect sense. Scott Welch presented it on stage, Scott Welch.
