7-5 Thurman, I can't score a round for someone who runs like that, even if he did possibly land the better punches.
He has no one to blame but himself if he loses, he might have given this fight away.
If Thurman can't get a guy out early I get embarrassed for him for the way he switches up.

Oh man, Jimmy Lennon mispronouncing the decision there and crushing Angel Garcia was worth sitting through the 2nd half of that fight.
Thurman was lucky, he could easily have blown that fight. It's an uninspiring win though. Doesn't make him box office or make Mayweather want to fight him.
Judges scored with a shotgun, all over. Think Garcia won it but no robbery. Two different approaches and Garcia needed the desperation late on. Thurman did nothing last few rounds. Danny keeping it classy in interview
I don't like that decision because a) Thurman lost the championship rounds b) has a very silly hair do and c) Garcia does not lose decisions.
It's hard to watch a guy get by entirely on athleticism. Use a jab Keith! And learn to box if you want to switch up. Run run run haymaker run run run is not boxing. He has a nice counter left hook. It seems like he could learn to actually box. Garcia landed a huge right in the 10 I want to say it was. And he took some good shots from Porter. I think Keiths chin has become underrated because of how he runs.
He's not confident in his ability to take punishment though and that dictates the way he fights. He's always going to fight the same way at that level.Quote:

Thurman is less impressive as he fights better competition (obvious I know). The problem is that he just doesn't seem to know the fundamentals. He boxes like Roy Jones but without the inhuman athleticism. Thurman is very athletic which is how he gets by, but he isn't Roy Jones athletic.
This may be a good time for Crawford to push for a Thurman fight too. Move up in weight and take out the unified champion. Crawford would destroy Thurman.
By right Floydcshould fight Thurman but instead Floyd will a non boxer, how crazy boxing is today

It was abit like Trinidad vs de la Hoya. I'm not a fan of Thurman running and refusal to engage smaller men. Danny struggled to cut off the ring and didn't show a great deal of urgency

Had many of the same thoughts/observations that you made. Spence destroys Thurman and Garcia if they ever fight him. Danny is very solid, but lacks the athleticism to be the best guy in a stacked division. Thurman has gifts, but isn't a fundamentally sound fighter, and doesn't have that special athleticism like Roy had. Spence has better technique/boxing ability, AND I has that special, Roy Jones-esque athleticism on top of his skills.Quote:

Pacquiao does have a perfect opportunity to win the unified WW title. He would definitely beat Thurman. Pacquiao is still good enough.
I don't think that Thurman is holding onto the belts for very long unless he avoids all the good fighters.

I forgot to comment on this, yeah it wasn't the barnstormer that it could have been, Thurman started really well, Garcia came on late, I've got no problem with the result, I didn't really score it and I tipped Garcia for a points win but I reckon the decision was about right.
Thurman would beat Manny PAC. People keep saying Keith will lose but he keeps on winning and he was far busier than Garcia. Only Spensec stands a chance.
