Biden tried to go up those stairs with zest, didn't work out that way. As Obama stated; never underestimate Joe's ability to fuck things up. Has nothing to do with governing, but 3times? Damn, how can SNL not do a skit on it?

Surprised Joe's troubles at the border aren't being jumped on with as much zest as his troubles on the steps up to Air Force One.
Calling like I see 'em... and ol' Joe isn't exactly covering himself in glory in dealing with the mess that right now is the U.S.-Mexico border and "Oh... what oh what to do with all these abandoned kids."
There isn't an ongoing soap opera every day so the media has to take whatever they have and expand it to fit the newshole. There was a bigger surge back in 2019 and it got zero media coverage as there'd already been one earlier in Trump's term and there was a new scandal/outrage/whatever every day to cover instead.

There's a huge backlog of people who would have come last year but for the pandemic and who are going to try and come this year. It is a massive problem but it's an ongoing thing, the current surge started long before Biden took office as the graph shows.

This is going on in states all over the country. Could easily be the beginning of the end of democracy in America. Note the bloke in Georgia who defied Trump is going to be primaried and replaced with some fucker who will campaign on guaranteeing to overturn an election if the Democrats win.

China is well behind on the two-year targets set in its trade deal with the U.S., having purchased only about a third of the goods it said it would buy so far.
Total purchases of U.S. agricultural, manufactured, and energy goods were $123 billion in the 14 months since the trade deal was signed in January 2020, according to Bloomberg analysis of official Chinese data. That was 32.6% of the target of $378 billion for 2020-21.
Is that the USCMA Act they're talking about?

But don't you know opposition stopped scrutinizing valid policy points some 4+ years ago in favor of Hardy Boys paint huffing mystery conspiracies and copy & paste 30 second vid clips. Even the ones where On Golden Pond takes a swipe at time in D.C with a smirk :-X
Though it's fact that the transition was literally kneecapped and kept in the dark in large part the Biden Administration should be called to the mat for lack of foresight and execution. I respect anyone who can look directly at the public and say "It's totally unacceptable" but the steps and measures that follow are what really matter. He has work to do. We've learned clearly that whataboutism and 'we'll see what happens' are not plans.
USMCA is the new name for NAFTA. It's 96% the same as NAFTA. America won some concessions over car production which will now be slightly more in America but gave some concessions as well. There'll be no change in overall employment numbers and the only change Americans will find is that some new cars will be more expensive than under the previous agreement.
The China agreement isn't even an agreement. China made a promise to buy more American goods that of course they're not keeping and Trump sold it as a game changing trade deal that would bring jobs and business flooding back to America. The trade deficit with China has gone up since they made the promise they haven't kept.
Corporate tax rate is going up. (All these things are Biden goals. Whether they happen is another thing.)
America is trying for a global minimum tax rate so American corporations don't just reincorporate in a foreign country with lower tax rates and fuck America off.
Income tax top rate going up a few points. Only applies to people earning over four hundred thousand a year.
No more fossil fuel subsidies. America subsidises oil and gas companies with about a hundred billion dollars of taxpayer money every year and has done for most of a century. Not a hundred billion a hundred years ago obviously but commensurate.
You can either earn income or make money from investments. Earned income has a top rate of about forty percent. Investmenr income can be as low as fifteen percent and that's before accountants and tax lawyers get to work and reduce it to low single digit percentages. A lot of people in the financial industry can loophole all their income as investment income and pay a low single digit income on hundreds of millions/billions of income every year. This would end the loophole and make them pay forty percentish.
You can avoid capital gains on your income at death with good tax planning. You may have made billions in gains on investments you made and your heirs currently avoid paying tax on that when you die. This would mean they would have to pay tax on it.

Should be forty really but the maximum is twenty. Any deal wouldn't get anywhere near twenty.
SALT is state and local taxes. Trump changed the law so local taxes can't be deducted from your federal tax bill. Biden won't change that. This mainly affects high earners in blue states --Democratic voters -- which is why Trump did it.
Biden has been making gaffes since the 1970s. He held a press conference today and was in command of the issues. The previous guy was so ignorant of every single issue that he had his signature policy explained to him on live TV by his own people when he made a gigantic concession to the Democrats. After that he stayed well away from anything regarding policy and just came out with the same soundbites so matter what the question.

Was listening to this whilst at work I think Biden is not the best at press conferences he stumbles pretty bad at times, the 120 years ago thing was clearly a joke I thought but that's they way it is :S... the old git does seem to know what he's talking about though, he certainly went into great detail about things which is nice, I'm not an expert at all that stuff thiugh so I'd need to look into his claims. Looks like biden brain still works and he seems like an alright guy, good for him, it's a shame hiw some people react to him.
Maybe it's just me. But I'd rather have a President who stumbles occasionally going up the Air Force One steps, or calls VP Harris President once in a while..... than a President who sets Americans against one another while eating popcorn on the sidelines with that idiotic, smug look on his face.... when he's not babbling incomprehensibly about windmills and all the toxic fumes they spew.
