I can't take it man
I like the ones where the animals die. I can't get emotionally invested in a film about an animal. At the end of the day its just a fucking animal. And its not even really dying, its just a film.
I just don't see the point of the films.
If Warhorse had ended with the horse sacrificing his life to save some humans I could have got behind it. Instead all the human deaths in the film were treated as irrelevant with no emotional weight attached at all.
Did you ever have a dog or anything growing up? I can honestly say that I like almost all dogs better than most people.
Personally I think Marley and Me would have been a much better film if it was Jennifer Aniston and Owen whatever dying at the end rather than the dog.

Not really into serial killer movies. I'll probably just download the rape scene.

That's a great movie, Noomi Rapace is phenomenal in it....you did see the original Swedish one didn't you?
Bilbo, you're a sociopath that's why you don't care about animals

Same here.
On the whole people suck. If there were more dogs and less humans the world would be a better place. Koreans have got it all wrong. We should be eating humans and not dogs.
agreed and we can start wıth the koreans on that good poınt of yours.

Actually quite the opposite. I can be deeply moved by films and news involving people.
I just don't place animals on the same level as humans because I'm not an self species hating anthropomorphic hippy.

Watched Limitless on the weekend, thought it was good. Weak ending, but good idea and a decent watch.

re: last movie you watched (Flag Up SPOILERS)
Bilbo Im disgusted with you. Dogs are people too you know!
When you get to the pearly gates the trap door is going to open on your dog hating arse and it'll be an eternity of red hot pokers up your jacksie. Im not sure if I've made a case for you rethinking your stance on dogs or encouraged you to persue your current hatred with more vigor?
I watched the Usual Suspects last night, Missy bullied me into it.
I was ultimately disapointed. The opening credits rolled, I didnt know who was in it, saw Kevin Spaceys name, for some reason was pleasantly surprised that he was in it, then my next thought was oh yes........thats him on the boat, the guy who's face you cant see.
Ive been told a hundred times how great it is, I didnt think it was great, I thought it was good.

To be fair I like dogs a lot more than a horse.
I just couldn't get into Warhorse at all. All I could I think was so what, it's a fucking horse. It's like making a movie about a cow or a sheep.
Dogs are man's best friend. I like dogs.

Watched Compass and it was good but it did not end, is there a Compass 2?
-
I'm watching 1980's big box office flop 'Heaven's Gate' a western epic. I think miles would actually love the movie. It has great actors in it John Hurt, Christopher Walken, Jeff Bridges, etc. I think the main issue is that its 3 hours and 30 some minutes long...almost a Kubrick movie and a half.

re: last movie you watched (Flag Up SPOILERS)
Dear LORD that was a long movie......and it wasn't really all that interesting of a topic to me. I reckon some folks must have been interested in it enough to get it made. It was about Eastern Europeans migrating to America, mostly the Big Sky area and how they were dirt poor and stealing cattle to feed their kids and how the cattle theives were being murdered without warrants.
There were a lot of unnecessary scenes that were left in for no damn reason and a lot of information you just have to assume which is stupid because the movie is almost 4hrs long!!! Although you do get to see Isabelle Huppert nude more than a few times :D ....not a bad looking gal

They got too fucking political...that's the problem with the movie. And who centers the movie on LISA....the most boring of all the Simpsons characters!!!
I've got 'The Hangover' next in my Netflix queue....I just had Season 1, Disc 1 of 'Perfect Strangers'...was it good? Don't be ridiiiiiculous! HAHA Oh that Balki, is there anything he won't say?

But taking his place is Jeremy Renner from The Hurt Locker and The Town, who I like as well, so it might not be a bad transition.
Just now got done watching Kill The Irishman. Had to watch it since it has to do with Cleveland. ;)
It's the true story of Danny Greene and the Mafia wars in Cleveland during the 70's. He went to war with the mafia in Cleveland, and the end result had a ripple effect in the mafia nationwide. I thought it was very well done. I recommend it.

I'll be honest, when I saw the trailor I thought he looked the part kicking the shit out of people. I cant help thinking though, he always plays the role of a cock pretty damned well, he must be a cock, added to that he isnt Matt Damon I dont think Im going to give him a far shake.
I think its too early to be commenting on this, Im still hurting

I watched Schindler's list last night and thought it was very good. I won't say it was enjoyable though as people here would no doubt get the wrong impression.

The cinematography is fantastic and the excellent performance by Ralph Fiennes as SS officer Amon Göth is very chilling.

It is great, but very hard going sometimes. The brutality, horror and sheer insanity and pointlessness of it all (the holocaust) is hard to endure as a viewer. Ralph Fiennes was great, but like you say so cold shooting away at people like a kid picks away at ants. It amazes me how people can become so detached and just treat life like that. To a degree Schindler is the same in just looking for slave labour, but in him we do see the transformation and him breaking down at the end saying he should have saved more was touching.
A powerful film.

re: last movie you watched (Flag Up SPOILERS)
I also watched 12 angry men, but wasn't sure if anyone would have seen it. Basically a murder trial and the twelve jury members discussing the case to collect the verdict. It's really good. Different types of character such as your liberal and your conservative and your racist and so on, all mixing in their views. I found it fascinating.

This is a classic black and white movie, they all start by thinking it was an open and closed case that he did it but one person questions it, a bit like Gandolf and slowly changes the minds of the people. :)

There is a slight difference here in Saddoworld however. You try changing minds and all you get it someone saying that you said a racist thing in 1865 and ten other people calling you a cunt. :-\

LOL it stared Henry Fonda and had the character in Quincy in there. Excellent film.
-
'Changeling' ....good enough movie, Angelina Jolie got to actually ACT in it and she did well. The problem I have with the movie is that it glossed over the horrifying crimes that actually occurred on that chicken ranch in Wineville, CA.

Yeah I was disappointed too. And that new guy (Jeremy Renner?)... I've seen him a few times, I think he's not much of an actor.

re: last movie you watched (Flag Up SPOILERS)
Wanderlust - Fucken hilarious... Oh shit! Still laughing at some of the stuff. I think it was only in selected theatres. Well worth the watch at the movies.
-
re: last movie you watched (Flag Up SPOILERS)
Woman in black, not bad, bit scary, but also a bit grim:-\ worth watching .
-
re: last movie you watched (Flag Up SPOILERS)
Hide and Seek - Dakota Fanning plays a looney kid who is emotionally and intellectually superior to her peers and elders (same as any other film she's in) and manages to convince her dad that he's her killer imaginary friend.
The Good - Bob De Niro realising that he is Charlie and negotiating the rest of the movie with a series of grunts and moans.
The Bad - They killed Elizabeth Shue off too early. At the very minimum she should have got um out before being snuffed out.
The Ugly - Noticing Dakota Fannings midrift when she's trying to open her bedroom window and knowing that Bilbo has almost certainly spilt seed over this moment.
-
'Hannibal Rising' ......pretty fucking lame if you ask me. World War II, Japanese samurai, gypsies, Nazi's, commies.....too much going on, and the psychological portion of the movie was not as good as the others.
