re: last movie you watched (Flag Up SPOILERS)
Ive had a week of movies mainly Danish and French ones on the World channel.
But today watched Matrix and Matrix reloaded , I forgot RJJ was a captain in it .
Out of the six World movies I've seen the ones really worth seeing:
Life is beautiful. brilliant, funny and tragically sad.
Deep in the woods : Whew! Its challenging, It plays off your emotions against your more animal instincts.
Citron and Flame: Great true story about two mates hit men of the Danish resistance, big production cost them fortune.

Finally watched Dark Knight last night. Really enjoyed the first half or so, but then it just turned to complete dog shit. Ledger was great though.

Yeah it interested me when reading the bio.
I ve always admired the Danish they, unlike the rest of Europe didnt just give up their Jewish. Instead they hid their Jews everywhere they could and fucked with the nazis on so many levels.
Was great to see what they also got up to out of the public domain in this movie.
Ballsy race of people.

re: last movie you watched (Flag Up SPOILERS)
Just watched Jonny English reborn. Very funny. Better than the first one.
-
'It' - and 'It' was HORRIBLE!
Now I'm watching the classic gangster movie 'The Public Enemy'

re: last movie you watched (Flag Up SPOILERS)
Just watched the documentary The Bridge. It's about the Golden Gate Bridge in San Fransisco being the place more people go to in order to commit suicide than any other place in the world. They talk to people who witness it, friends & family members of those who have jumped, and they interview one guy who actually survived the jump. They even show multiple jumps, and a couple people being stopped from jumping. It was compelling, and you can't stop watching it, but it made me extremely sad as well.

re: last movie you watched (Flag Up SPOILERS)
Wanted. A rear view of Angelina Jolie getting out of a bath is worth five stars in my book. The film itself is quite fun too.
-
Andre, you ever seen 'Downfall'? Great movie.
-
re: last movie you watched (Flag Up SPOILERS)
I am watching prophet, which is a French film about a young Arab man who starts working for a right wing group in prison. It is a raw and real film which shows how he survives and deals with life in and out of prison through dealing in with drugs, politics and personalities in the criminal justice system.

re: last movie you watched (Flag Up SPOILERS)
Inglorious Basterds - Thought it was very good. I particularly liked the Basterd who beat Nazi's to death with a baseball bat.
The Machinist - It was good but Bales fat bald alter self was the most annoying man Ive ever seen.

re: last movie you watched (Flag Up SPOILERS)
Finally watched remake :p of Clash of the Titans...and for a guy who hates remakes save for a select few, I liked it. Ending was a bit cheeseball and they caved to PETA with not having "cerberous" Dogs but yeh ;D
Also watched Little Miss Sunshine?! Don't fucking laugh, that was a cool flick!

I fell asleep watching Clash of the Titans.

THX1138....George Lucas' first big movie. You know what it needed? Kubrick, that's what it needed.
-
Watched Disc 1 of Ken Burns' "Prohibition"......loads of great facts in there. People back in the 1860's drank 3 times...3 TIMES as much as people now. And of course AMERICANS were the hardest of the hard drinkers!!! And women whined and complained and manipulated their way to get the Temperance movement going.
-
The fucking Teetotalers brought about the Income Tax!?!? Son....of.....a.....bitch! Like I needed more reasons to hate the teetotalers!

Were you drinking whilst watching this show?
This is typical of the kind of short term thought that many people use....with facts like...
People in the UK are drinking more than ever (if you consider ever to be since the 1970s). We're in the largest ever period of climate change. (The fuckin ice age? that was ....cold?)
Slap every teetotaler. And every Man Utd fan you meet today.

You English drink beer, the Americans back then were drinking liquor! Whiskey for breakfast my friend!
Teetotalers are annoying....as are those people who say we've brought about global warming.

re: last movie you watched (Flag Up SPOILERS)
There is nothing wrong with consecutive posting with increasing levels of uncouthness. It makes Bilbo angry and is thus a good thing.
I rewatched the Star Wars trilogy (the good ones) and enjoyed them immensely. Good wholesome fun. You look at the first hour of the first film in particular and see something so simple and effortless. It makes you question whether the new films were about anything more than trying to show off CGI which most people don't really give a hoot about.
It's a shame because the making of Vader had potential. But you see in the good trilogy a story unfolding over perhaps a several years. The bad trilogy tries to document an entire lifetime and is really just a lot of bullshit preamble to finally get Anakin in the black costume.
I like the idea of Anakin turning evil, but you just don't need any of the first film and instead could have made the second and third films with at least a plot that went through a drafting process.
Modern action flicks seem to pass the scripts over on a casual perusal basis and hope people will be into big robots or such crap. It's so lame.
Action flicks used to be so good without any of this 'let's just give 'em CGI' plop.

Well, in the 18th century Gin was the big problem for British drinkers, even though it does taste like drinking perfume through the filter of a shoe to my own personal palette.

Just took the teen daughter and wife to watch Hunger Games. too many teens! but makes me smile with the wife is enjoying the screaming kids. The movie was alright. I'm waiting for Battleship to come out. I really liked Liam Nelson in Taken, I doubt he'll ever make one better.

Really the Star Wars prequels could have been a lot better....I found them lame. 100% focused on CGI, its crap.

Just watched Real Steel. Its fuckin Rocky 4 with robots. Deadset..ROCKY 4 !!!! Massive robot owned by an ice cold russian lady and the trainer says " What ever Zeus hits...he kills ". Final fight is nearly exactly the final fight in Rocky 4. But still not a bad movie.
Drive was fuckin terrible.

re: last movie you watched (Flag Up SPOILERS)
Well I haven't seen it yet, since it hasn't come out yet, but this movie looks like it's going to be funny. If you like Family Guy & Seth MacFarlane's humor, then you might like this as well.
It's called Ted, and it's with Mark Wahlberg & Mila Kunis.

How dare you, on the 100th year celebrations too.
Have you noticed the 3D films being recycled like Star Wars 1 and the Titanic. Greedy sods.

3D is going to go busto soon....there's only so much it can add to a movie....I mean it's not like the theater is going to shoot ice chips at the audience when the iceberg does Titanic in. I just don't feel like bothering with 3D.

Pan's Labyrinth, it's not that new but I am a bit late on my movie list. It was quite good actually, and defo touching.

re: last movie you watched (Flag Up SPOILERS)
The ripple effect 6.8 / 10
worth hiring.
Changeling 8.8 / 10
Only people who dont like Jollie will try to poke holes in this movie.
Clint Eastwood did a great job directing it.
True story, Brilliantly acted. Angelina Jollie is class in it, you dont get to see her beauty and forget its her. True to the history and if any thing they have left some info out from the true story.
Watched all the Sweedish versions; 2 and 3 of The girl with the dragon tattoo,
The girl who played with fire.
The girl who kicked the hornets nest.
Great trilogy I loved it, would watch them all again in a year or so:
Cheers for the up on those @El Kabong

re: last movie you watched (Flag Up SPOILERS)
La Cara Oculta - Brilliant fucken movie. It's from Spain but whoa! Just flat out entertaning.
Break - Fucken movie had me sunk down into my sofa. Just thinking shit! what's gonna happen. Then BAM! they hit you with it. Then suddenly BAM! You get hit again and you're left like FUUUUHHHHHH. What the fuck just happened.
Project X - Must see fucken hilarious.
Hunger Games - Good film overall really not my cup of tea but it was def. worth going to the movies and seeing it. Don't rate it as highly as some peope.
Mirror Mirror - A lot more entertaining that I figured it would be. Took my nieces & cousins to see it.
Wrath of the Titans - A good one time watch film for me. I really liked it and enjoyed it from the start.
-
re: last movie you watched (Flag Up SPOILERS)
Now I haven't seen this movie but I've read that it's being made.....Robert DeNeiro Directing, Gael Garcia Bernal & Usher starring in......"HANDS OF STONE: THE ROBERTO DURAN STORY"...Gael Garcia Bernal is a hell of an actor, he'll be a GREAT Duran. And Usher of course will play Sugar Ray Leonard.

Agreed....I know generally when I watch subtitled films I tend to findit difficult to engage because of the need to read and watch at the same time, but when I watched I was totally engrossed and didn't feel like the effort that watching some subtitled films can be.

if you liked hunger games you might like this. it was made in 2000 inspired by a novel written in 1996.
