Tyson wins by UD rocking Lewis once or twice along the way. He had much better defence and was much more busy in his prime.
Tyson by knock out around the 4th or 5th round
Both these guys are all timers IMO .
Tyson in his day was amazing . Never seen a guy with his ferocity or speed before . Never fulfilled that potential but when he was at his best , he was da man and nobody could touch him . I just think technically Lewis had his number thats all . My money would have to be on Lewis if they met prime for prime but it would have been an amazing fight
Why would Lewis have had his number? They met once and Tyson was a long time gone. Still took Lewis an age to close down that shell. Of course, they met as youngsters but that encounter has now merely passed into the realm of myth.Quote:

Not true. Lewis is on record as saying he was amazed that Tyson was taking the shots he did. Emmanuel Steward was screaming his head off for Lewis to stop pitty-pattying and clear Tyson out because he knew that the Iron one was potentially dangerous.
If they fought in Tyson's prime in 1988 Lewis would definitely have lost. Tyson had a penchant for chewing up tall heavyweights at the time and Lewis, while good, was still somewhat green.
But magically-mystically if they both could have fought in their own relative primes... it's a pick 'em. I don't think Lewis ever got the credit he deserved and people are sudden Tyson-revisionists as if he weren't as good as he was. Sure Tyson had flaws, but that certainly didn't make him unique. The combination of speed, power and defense inside a little package did.
Cuz I reckon Mike was too short to deal with a focused Lewis . When you see how a washed up Larry Homes jabbed at Mike , Lewis had alot of power to follow up with in his right hand . Rudduck is nowhere near the class of Lennox but he gave Mike a hard 12 rounds . It would have been a good fight . Mike is great but I cant imagine him beating Lewis .Quote:

i'm lovin how the poll on this topic is bang on 24 votes to 24 votes. even split so aparently its a draw ;D
i think tyson easily had the power to KO lewis if he conected and a prime tyson had a very good chance of conecting because of the speed, stamina and head movement (that was pretty much all but gone when the pair did actually fight). but mike always had problems with the big technical boxers with a decent jab like lewis. i would say iron mike but i've already voted so we need someone else to join the topic.
I bet Saddo is fucking sick of the who could beat Mike Tyson threads.....hell there has been a shit load just since I started......

dont you remember the saverese post fight interview? "my defence is impregnable and im just ferocious,i want ur heart i wanna eat he children" c'mon that was clearly rehearsed that little speech
......but yes tyson was a bit looney tunes he had terrible temper tantrums
