Re: FLOYD SAYS ITS ON!!! WOOOOOOO IM GOING BABY!!!
And this is a sport called BOXING....so being the greatest boxer is surely what its all about. Why go to the trenches when you can just blow the opposition up with mortars from half a mile away?
[/quote]
Agree totally, but I sometimes love to see a battle in the trenches.

Good points, I believe the Ring once contained an article dealing with the difference between Great fighters and Entertaining fighters.
Their Comparison utilised the differential between George Chuvalo and Muhammad Ali.
They illustrated that although Chuvalo was a great fighter to watch, engaged the crowd and would have been a good ppv fighter, he could never be mistaken for a fighter of sufficient quality to be called a "great."
On the other hand Ali was a fighter who comprised of all the sufficient skills and style to brand him an all time great (and although i dont agree,) it took away from his entertainment value.
Altghough not fully agreeing with the choice of fighters i deem the hypothesis true. Big Difference betwween entertaining fighters and Great fighters. I believe a good illustration of this point came after Arturo Gatti's retirement. Jim Lampely (I think,) made the point that although not an all time great Gatti will always be remembered for his Attitude and entertainment value.

Erm, how do you find an opponent where you're not the favourite if you're the pound for pound best?? I'm sorry but you're a moron who's IQ really does equal his post count (and I think i'm being generous here).
The reason he's always the favourite is because he is the p4p kingpin and for good reason. Hey, anytime a natural featherweight is considered a favourite against the top dog in the 154 pound weight class it is amazing. You're basically saying that Floyd is TOO good..ironic
Also in some peoples opinions Floyd was way out of his depth in a few fights :-
Hernandez
Coralles
Ndou
Baldomir
De La Hoya
He always proved those select few wrong..
Anyway back to my point..your a moron

OK Althugz, I guess I will remain the kingpin of kicking the ass of girlscouts. And before you and others booo hooo saying he didn't fight girlscouts, I agree. But he didn't fight people who stand above him not because of his p4p rating (no sweetie it's not irony here, you missed the mark) it's his lack of whatever it takes to take on a real challenge. I'll hold your hand through this:
Jones vs Ruiz - DLH vs Hopkins - Trinidad vs Hopkins - Ruiz vs Valuev - Jones vs Tarver (after suffering 2 recent knockouts) - Mosely vs Forrest II - Spinks vs Taylor and so on and so on.
You see, these fighters chose to step up and fight a harder battle when they were clearly not favored. Obviously you and others like you want floyd to continue kicking the ass of all of their opponents so you can say hooooorayyyyy he's the bestest fighter ever in the whole wide world. I on the other hand would like to see him really step up for once. IF he decides to go this route, then by all means, he would fit the bill as the best p4p ever.
Re: FLOYD SAYS ITS ON!!! WOOOOOOO IM GOING BABY!!!
and you don't consider Floyd stepping up to 154 to face De La Hoya a challenge? Even though he catered to each and every one of De La Hoya's demands that put him at a distinct disadvantage?
How has Roy Jones got more balls than Floyd going to heavyweight to fight John Ruiz? haha you're fucking deluded kid!
Jones Tarver 3...believe me if Floyd ever got a loss he would be right back in that persons face requesting a rematch. Wether it was via knockout or not.
Mosely Forest 2..again that was Mosely looking to avenge a loss..something I know Floyd would do should he lose.
Spinks vs Taylor..come on??? Spinks took that fight because it was the only fight he could get!! Who the fuck wants to fight Spinks?? lol
feel free to respond for some more 'ownage'
Stick around, you can be the Saddo bitch. I'm having fun anyway..

Come on Thugz, real "ganstas" don't post. You on the other hand are proving yourself to be quite a "first site post wh*re".
You believe me to be the "saddo bitch" because you are riding the coat tails of better more intelligent replies to some of my posts by waaaaaay more intellectual people than yourself. Instead of having a well thought out position of your own, you believe the bigger dogs in front of you will provide you with pats on the head for having the guts to take a swing while standing behind them.
You did nothing but reinforce my position and the funniest thing about it is, you did this while thinking you were "owning" me. All the fighters listed above did what mayweather won't put himself in the position to do, lose to a fighter they were expected to lose against. All in the name of good business eh floyd.
Take my advise, stay on the porch with the other puppies until you grow some fuzzies on your little testicles. And as far as needing to feel as though I've "owned" you in this post, how about I say I'm done with you instead.
Re: FLOYD SAYS ITS ON!!! WOOOOOOO IM GOING BABY!!!
people, clear up the fighting. you're on the verge of being banned. Just a fair warning to two nice guys. O0

Sorry, but he kinda pimped you with that post ;)
Floyd's biggest problem is simple. People think that these guys will beat him for sure (Delahoya, Gatti, Corrales, G. Hernandez, even when Mayweather fought Baldomir people were talking about how Mayweather has never faced a "true welterweight ::** " and it will soon be Hatton) When Mayweather beats these guys, he makes them look so bad that the haters say he these opponents weren't good enough in the first place. Then they move on to these other chumps (Margarito, Cotto, Cintron, etc.) saying that THESE are the guys that could beat Mayweather, and how Floyd has been ducking these "true champions ::**" the whole time.
He's the best in the sport by a long shot, at this time. The haters can cry all they want, BUT...................................
World Titles in 5 different weight classes while being undefeated at 30 years old (with almost 40 fights) is insane.
Can the haters name anybody else in recent memory who can touch on that??
I didn't think so ;)
Re: FLOYD SAYS ITS ON!!! WOOOOOOO IM GOING BABY!!!
Spinks before he fought Tyson. He retired undefeated. he was even touted as the one who will stop tyson in his prime.
Re: FLOYD SAYS ITS ON!!! WOOOOOOO IM GOING BABY!!!
Yup but he failed miserably in that quest huh.

Slk, my boy, I can understand your haste to halt this discussion as it is littered with holes which need to be exposed. I wondered wether it was worth responding to your attempt (completely not boxing related I might add) but what kind of citizen would I be if I didn't help out the less educated and break things down to help you understand better??
First of all my forum name is no indication to my personality. It is actually only 2 letters removed from my actual name. So you're right real 'gangsta's' don't post but intelligent people don't make ignorant accusations about people fathomed up from a simple user name.
Your second paragraph was the most misinformed part of your post. If you divert your attention to my cool click and sad click ratio it will give you some indication as to how wrong you are about me riding the coatails of others. Perhaps being one of the only British PBF fans (and damn proud) on this website quite clearly shows that I do not post for proverbial 'pats on the head' from the more 'intelligent' members here. On the subject of intelligence my IQ is 131, not too bad for someone who clearly has a lack of intelligence and needs the backup of other members eh? I do not post nor care for the acceptance of my opinions from the members here, I come here like most to discuss a sport that I love. However, if I am arguing against a members point of view I will provide boxing related arguement like I have done in discussion with you. You on the other hand are ignoring all members valid points and throwing your toys out of the pram (Yes behaviour that could feasibly be described as being a 'bitch') because you have no valid arguement about the topic at hand.
So you've tried your hand at guessing what kind of personality traits I have. I guess it would be my turn now..Let's have a look. I'm guessing a troubled youth? Possibly grew up with a 'Mayweather' type character at school who used to bully you and steal your lunch money? Maybe hid your pants after P.E class forcing you to walk around outside with your hands between your legs and a silly bewildered look on your face until you found them. Eventually forcing you to become a social recluse sitting behind your keyboard at home flicking through the Thesauras that Uncle Fred bought you for Christmas trying to make yourself sound clever with big words on the internet. This would possibly explain your blind hatred for the man and unwillingness to recognise his achievments in the boxing world. Again, I will say how does Mayweather ever put himself at a disadvantage when he is the P4P kingpin!? He actually went someway to put himself at a disadvantage against De La Hoya. I've said before but i'll say it slowly again..He catered to all of ODLH's demands and weighed 15-20lbs less than his adversary on fight night. He overcame all of those factors to win.
So how about you take my 'advice' (not 'advise' clever clogs) and man up. Start respecting other people's opinions if they're valid, which most on this topic are. Stop crying because some people don't agree with you and get back in your crib. Milk and cookies are on the way..night night

As shocking as it is, Chuck, some people thought Baldomir was too big for Mayweather. Even the promotional poster was named 'Pretty Risky' if I remember right because of this. I guess they failed to remember that Mayweather was 'too quick, too accurate and too smart' which led to an easy unanimous victory for Floyd.

Wait...what people thought Floyd would lose against Delahoya, Gatti, Corrales, G. Hernandez, or Baldomir?!!! I think VERY FEW knowledgeable boxing fans would have picked against Floyd in those fight. With maybe the exception of Oscar...simply because of the size/weight difference...Floyd was the strong favorite against the rest. I am not going to go into the whole is Floyd's resume great or not debate...it has been done to death. But when his fans expect him to deserve major props for fighting and beating guys like Gatti, Baldomir, etc...that's when i have an issue. He simply did what he was supposed to do against guys like that...beat less skilled and slow fighters convincingly. Not going to hate on him for that...but i'm not going to gush about what a tremendous accomplishment that is. So his fans need to stop bunching everyone in the same group that thought he was "going to lose" against some second rate fighters. Some of us know Floyd is tremendously talented....but aren't stupid enough to think B and C level fighters are going to beat him. At the same time...Floyd's fans need to stop thinking that beating guys like Gatti merits universal acclaim. I will/have given him his props when he fights and beats excellent fighters and i will be critical or indifferent when he faces/beats over matched stiffs.
