What will decide it it the approach Miranda takes and how much of his potential he uses.
And I think we will see what 'approach' he is taking in the Banks fight. He may not be the toughest of competition, but he is a decent boxer with a very good chin, so we should be able to see what 'skills' Miranda has been working on.

I think Banks is a good fight for him as it is his debut on live TV at 168lbs. Banks has never been stopped, so if Edison can KO him early, it will show the world Edison has his power at Super Middle.
After this he will have a big fight. At the very least it will be Jean Pascal, but there have been talks of a a few other big names. Either way he will be putting himself in position for a title fight before the end of this year.
As a one off its not too bad, ive always had great respect for Miranda for always fighting the best fighters he can possibly get. I meant i hope he doesnt make a habit of fighting not so good fighters because he is a very promising fighter in the future.

Well as you've mentioned he's a decent boxer with a good chin. He should give Miranda a little test which will give him some much needed ring time and perhaps a confidence boost

8) Hi guys, im going tell you i see Miranda a World Champ., but he need more skills and time he have a good record ,but i seen him the last fight by Telefutura channel and realy need more skill to dominate his opponent, i think he going to progress now because he have in his corner Bonilla a Trainer , maybe with the time we could see Miranda doing something different, that is what i guess. 8) 8)

:coolclick: Welcome to the forum!
Yes, Jose Bonilla is a great trainer. But at this point in Miranda's career, I dont know how much ANY trainer could really change him. I have seen some improvements with each fight, but if you look back at his first fight in the USA againt Sam Reese he looks similar to today.
Regardless, I think with his current skills, heart, determination and power he could beat anyone at 168lbs if he puts his mind to it. After the loss to Pavlik, I think he will never look past an opponent again.

Re: Will Edison Miranda ever be a world champion?
and JC beat him.
but imagine that, Miranda-froch or Froch-kessler or Kessler-miranda. I rekon those fights would make the 168 devison amazing!
Re: Will Edison Miranda ever be a world champion?
With Pavlik and Taylor moving up, there are going to be some great potential fights at SMW.
I think we will see the next P4P #1 fighter emerge from this group over the next year or two.

I dunno bout all that. But it has the potential to become the best weight class in boxing, beating out even Welterweight, IF the best fight each other.

I don't think Pavlik actually will move up. I feel he's moving up just to satisfy the clause in the contract Jermaine made him sign. So I see him in one SMW fight and thats all. (Unless Taylor wins and a trilogy is warranted.)
AS for P4P No.1 I'm not so sure about that but I do feel the division has the potential to produce a few legacies.
Re: Will Edison Miranda ever be a world champion?
Pavlik will end up at 168lbs soon enough. Yea, win or lose he is the middleweight champ and keeps his belts. So he will stay there for a few fights, make some decent money. But he too is having trouble making weight and will have to move up. Plus the money is going to be at SMW, so when a big fight is offered, he will move up and take it.
Re: Will Edison Miranda ever be a world champion?
Thats correct, as soon as his metabolism middleweight won't be feasible anymore.
