My unpopular opinion:
If Mike Tyson had've retired after the Spinks fighter, all the people that claim he was overrated now, would of had him as one of the top 2 greatest heavyweights of all time.
Watching a Freddie Roach interview is even more boring than a documentary on tree frogs.
Boxing fans are too forgiving of their favourite fighters when they avoid dangerous fights. Excuses like X fighter isnt a big enough name/ doesnt deserve the fight, my fighter isnt being offered enough money so he shouldnt take the fight (when in reality they would still earn a tonne of cash) etc dont cut any ice with me.
David Haye will brutally knock out Wladimir Klitchsko and will bring light back to the HW division.
Ricky Hatton should retire if he beats Paulie Malignaggi. Nothing else to prove and no great challenges left.
Joe Calzaghe is overrated and has spent most his career fighting bums and contenders. Mikkel Kessler was his only legitimate threat. RJJ is shot.
Cristian Mijares should not be in the P4P top 10.
Juan Manuel Marquez should hold 2 more losses to his name. Pac in the first fight and Marco Antonio Barrera both beat him.
Ali being the greatest of all time.
..i'm not sure how unpopular but i've always got a negetive reaction when i half heartedly say "berto will beat one of the top guys in the division by the middle of next year. In a fight he's given no chance to win. And andre direll is a lot better than he's let us see yet. I for good reason even got blasted by the wife for that statement.
ok here goes
1 Lennox Lewis is a top 10 all time heavyweight champion
2 had hamed met barrera in their super bantamweight days and hamed was still being trained by brendan ingle then barrera would have been KOd. hamed in his prime would have also beaten the likes of pacman and morales
3 bowe in his prime (against holyfield 1992) would have had a chance against heavy in history
4 tyson with kevin rooney in his corner would have beaten any heavy in history
5 hearns would have beaten hagler in a rematch
i think thats enough danger now :)
Even though Oscar and everyone else Forbes has faced couldn't knock him out, I feel like Berto will do the job. Berto is ready for the likes of Quintana, Cintron, Collazo, and an Old Mosley (I think he should fight one of those guys after Forbes) but he might be a couple fights too shy of being ready for Margarito, Williams, Mayweather and Cotto.
not sure if its unpopular but Yuriorkis Gamboa will be p4p no1 in a few years!
Foreman would have beaten Ali in a rematch, Fraizer is overrated
Ibeabuchi could have taken over the Heavyweights...
thats all for now ;D
Diego Corrales should have been dq'd for spitting his mouthguard out against Castillo and the fight awarded to Castillo.
Unpopular opinions:
-This one is VERY unpopular considering how people worship Cotto around here but...yeah, he has the skills but I just think he's overrated. First time he fights a guy in IN HIS PRIME (Margarito) and look what happened.
-Don't remember Mayweather ever showing a CLEAR weakness/flaw.
-Mayweather didn't run from anybody, the money simply was not there.
-ODLH is one of the GREATEST boxers and has accomplished many things other boxers wish they did.
-I did enjoy Mayweather vs ODLH fight. It was not necessarily a Morales vs Barrera kind of fight but I saw 2 of boxing's greatest fight a cautious tactical fight that kept me on my toes. Both were far from really dominating eventhough ODLH was the one keeping the pressure.
