You have Cazares winning?
No, I guess I shouldn't have said rubber match, and just should have said a third fight. ;D
Yeah, I was pretty sure that was what you meant.

Wheres Mick & VD now? Calderon looked on his way to schooling Cazares again!
Re: The contract Calderon vs Cazares ll (Let's Talk here pics & vids)
I have to say that Cazares just lost all my respect. I can understand all his frustration hitting the air for 7 rounds, but he is a BAD looser, and that is what he is a looser... During the interview he made comments saying that Calderon not only had the favor of the fans, but also the favor of the score cards suggesting that he was robbed, and indicated that this was ashame. I am actually scratching my head thinking what fight was seeing the judge that had it so close, 67-66. Actually, during the first fight the only judge that gave the decision to Cazares was from Puerto Rico. But, he was probably watching a football game during the fight.
So I don't know why Cazares is saying that he cannot win even knocking out in Puerto Rico, the problem is that you have to do it with your punches not with your head. The only one who should be ashame is Cazares who come the day of the fight almost 5 divisions over the limit to fight a small guy and get his ass kicked for the second time. The end was unfortunate because I was hoping we could see the full action for 12 rounds. I am not sure what makes Cazares think that 3 punches and a headbutt, which was his best punch, make him deserve the decision  I am hoping that Calderon go for bigger things and forget about Cazares and unify his title. Then, he is speaking to move to 112...
Cazares if you think that Puerto Rico is treating you so unfair, you can take your plane directly to Los Mochis and stay there... :-X But, you are forgeting all the respect that we gave you when you beat guys like Dieppa and Sanchez, you just lost mine...
Re: The contract Calderon vs Cazares ll (Let's Talk here pics & vids)
I'm here...
I actually thought Calderon was very fortunate that the stopage came. Anyone that knows Cazares knows his best work is done late in the fight.
I saw something happen I'm not sure if it's just me but there was something about the way Calderon sat in his corner as they poured water on him and rubbed his neck. I saw very heavy breathing by Calderon and Cazares was able to hit him well when he switched southpaw.
With all that being said, a win is win and Calderon won.
Congrats to him and I think this should mark the end of this one. They both need to move onto other things.
Calderon vs. Solis and Cazares should go after Canchilla or Sosa.

I agree Cazares comes on late but I remember Calderon winning the last rounds of the 1st fight! So who knows.
Anyone that knows Calderon knows he ain't got power so going the distance is something he's used to!
Calderon was boxing brilliantly & I feel he would have continued to do so!
But your right Mick they should both move on & maybe down the round they will meet up again for a third.
I want to see Calderon/ Solis!!!
I think Cazares should return to 112 at least!
Re: The contract Calderon vs Cazares ll (Let's Talk here pics & vids)
Right...
The weight issue... I agree he should move up to 112.

I see what you're saying. From the shitty feed that I was watching, it appeared that Cazares was finally starting to land a few punches, and from the first round on I was seeing things that kind of reminded me of Cotto-Margarito. I'd never seen either fighter before, and I'm not saying the outcome would've been the same, but Calderon did look a bit gassed in his corner in the last few rounds.

OK, so it wasn't just me...
I noticed the water being poured along with the ice and neck rubbing.
Anyone that's seen Calderon before knows that's not like him.
When he came into the round he stood there in place with his hands up as Cazares threw shots. I'm not saying these were thunderous shots. Shit I even think the punches were hitting Calderons gloves but my point is that I saw a shift change there and I think Cazares would have switched it around.

calderon did say after that he was feeling the body shots. i think it was going to be close at the end. to bad it ended early
Re: The contract Calderon vs Cazares ll (Let's Talk here pics & vids)
I must agree Mick that I've never seen them pouring the bucket over Calderon before. But Calderon is one of the few fighters I feel could of fought 15 rounders without concern! Going the distance is one thing you can guarantee when Calderon fights!

Like you said, frustration. It got the best of Cazares. He'll feel diffrent afterwards.

I will need to rewatch the interview because I do not recall this comment from Calderon. I am not saying it is not correct, I will just check, may be I was going for my beer at that moment. ;D
