This fight is at 170lbs Pavlik will not be the same puncher he was at 160. Calzaghe throws more shots than Pavlik with greater speed and different angles. Hopkins made the fight close he will make this fight close also.
Infact Pavliks straight foward style and lack of punch variation plays into Hopkins.

Hopkins lacks workrate but what he lacks in workrate he brings in brilliant accuracy and timing with his shots and he also works well on the inside and frustrates his opponents with his sneaky blows on the inside. Hopkins tough defense and lateral movement will cause pavlik problems, Pavlik won't have his jab to set up his shots because Hopkins will take it away just like he did to Wright and Pavlik will find himself eating right hand counters and missing his shots and will get more frustrated with Hopkins work on the inside. Hopkins even at 43 still has what it takes to beat Pavlik and your making the mistake thinking he can't.

Good post. I just made a post on another thread about fighters considered to be old (due to their physical age) but experience is an amazing advantage againsed younger guys, Hopkins may well frustrate a young Pavlic into making silly mistakes and losing rounds for it. I think I've said that before in another recent thread (sorry bout that) but I can see that happening.
