Re: Premier League 2009-2010 prediction thread!!
For all the talk and money I don't see a single great signing yet
Santa Cruz - Good quality striker, but not a top 4 club/Champ league striker
Tevez - Amazing workrate, but his stats last year (passing, shooting etc) compared to Rooney were not good
Adebayor - Waster!
Barry - Best signing so far
Re: Premier League 2009-2010 prediction thread!!
Rumor has it that Alonso is gone.....rumor also has it that the Reds are working their way to signing one Clint Dempsey (not that he would fill Xabi's role with the team, but he would be a cheap option and effective too).

You serious Lyle?? Dempsey is totally different player to Alsonso, i think Benitez knows Alonso is going Barry was the replacement he wanted, I dont know what people think but how about Scott Parker who had a great season with West Ham.
Re: Premier League 2009-2010 prediction thread!!
It turns out Lyle meant Everton.

....yeah, apparently it was Everton that was trying to get him so it's not that big of a deal after all. I would have been happy had the Reds looked at Dempsey to play up front from time ot time, I think he would work well with Torres.
Liverpool is looking at guys like Aquilani to replace Alonso.

Stats don't tell the whole story though. Tevez will be a quality signing for us. He'll fit in brilliantly.
Adebayor - Bit of an arse at times but when he's in the mood he is quality. Has a very good goal record at Arsenal.
I don't know what you mean by 'all the talk' because nobody at City is talking. They're just getting on with business. The media might be talking, but that's what they always do.

I don't think Parker is creative enough. I read about them going for Aquillani at Roma.

Even known im not a Man City supporter,i've put on more money on them to win the title based on them buying all the hot players.Their are at 20/1 but WHEN Terry signed as well as Lescot then them odds will drop alot.Santa Cruz will bang in loads this season,he's one of the best players to score while in the air.Infact i might put money on him scoring the most goals throughout the season.
Show me the money!!!;D

scotty plays infront of the back 4 in that covering role which he has been amazing at all season.
When we 1st signed scott i genuinely thought we`d bought a bowyer esque mercenary making his reputation off of 1 good season. But had it not been for him green and matty upson we`d be in all sorts of trouble right now.
If you want a essien type defensive midfielder who`ll grab you the odd goal or 2 and likes to get forward whenever possible then parker wont be to your liking. But parker is indeed the best in the league at playing that grinding role in the centre of the park that makes his presence felt with heavy tackling and can ping a football around like no other

Benayoun wouldn't be horrible to fill in for Alonso, as long as we have another guy to sub in for him.
See THIS is why you keep Sissoko!!!
Re: Premier League 2009-2010 prediction thread!!
Can you really replace what Alonso does? Doesn't seem like there are too many guys with similar games.
Meh, they could get Xavi to replace him. Not likely. ;D

True but it would be nice if they got someone who mirrored what Riera did last season
Re: Premier League 2009-2010 prediction thread!!
1 Liverpool
2 Manchester United
3 Manchester City
4 Chelsea
5 Arsenal
6 Aston Villa
7 Tottenham Hotspur
8 Everton
9 Blackburn
10 Sunderland
11 Portsmouth
12 West Ham
13 Wigan
14 Fulham
15 Bolton
16 Birmingham
17 Burnley
18 Stoke
19 Hull
20 Wolves
I think Terry goes to Man City, who also buy a couple more players, that may give them an edge.
Chelsea in return, win the Champions League.
Arsenal are still a few years away from maturing
Redknapp will sort out Spurs
Everton are due a blip
If Portsmouth sort out their ownership and spend a bit, they could be fighting for a Uefa place
Fulham are going to struggle to do as well as last season
From Bolton downwards anyone could go down, the Premier League does seem to lack the depth in the mid table teams it had last season.
