Not possible. With each Pac win comes criticism.

If I remember correctly, you started a thread about that statement and you were the only one who believed that.
Hatton was knocked out cause HE LET PAC hit him! No head movement, chin up in the air, what did you expect to happen?

As far as some people talking about Cotto's chin, I am just not buying that, he is durable. He took some bombs from Margarito and was not knocked down, took a knee but he took some punishment and who knows if the gloves were loaded which makes it more impressive.
I could stir the pot a bit and say if Pac frustrates him he could do what he did in the Judah fight and throw some low shots, that'd slow him down ;)
My guess is Pac takes this by late stoppage due to cuts maybe 10th or 11th.
I'm thinking the handspeed and straight punching can do some damage,re-open that nasty gash?I don't see Cotto getting knocked out though.I really dont think the weight on these two will be a huge factor and feel confident in saying...with respect to Hatton and Oscar....
Manny will face more adversity and a deeper gut check in 2 rounds with Cotto that he has faced over his last 18+ rounds combined.I just see to many patterns from Cotto over last few but should be an outstanding fight,no doubt about it!
No doubt! Pac hasn't faced any adversity in the ring since his second fight with Marquez. The hardest moment he's faced since then was the critics saying he was going to get sparked by De La Hoya.
I really think this is a dangerous fight for Manny. Cotto is bigger and he isn't a one dimensional brawler. Cotto has boxing skills and can bang with the best of 'em. His jab is underrated and if he traps Manny, Cotto strings punches together as good as anyone.
This fight is a toss up IMO.
Re: Pac agrees to 145 lbs!!!
I can live with 145 I guess, what's done is done. I really think Pac is going to absolutely batter Cotto.
Re: Pac agrees to 145 lbs!!!
Speaking of Pacquiao's left uppercut...
Lifts both feet off the ground, smashing!

I got it from this forum and only this forum that Hatton was weight drain so I started that thread to ask the Hatton fans if they believe it. They back pedal on it. Here's my original post. Let's not put words into my mouth where I said I believe it. Nice try son.

So was Ricky Hatton weight drain or is this an excuse by his beloved fans after they predicted an ko in favor of their man but it was the reversed?
Discuss.

Re: Pac agrees to 145 lbs!!!
I don't know why this needs to be at a catch weight TBH.
I think this could turn out to be a decent fight and Cotto has a sound chance at beating Manny. Hatton made Manny look far more spectacular than he really is. And Clottey and the cut made Cotto look more ordinary.
I have no interest in Mayweather against Pac and want the both of them to lose their next fights. If they end up fighting then so be it, but I am against them in the meantime.
Take his head off, Cotto!

Pacquiao, Cotto to fight at 145 lbs
By NICK GIONGCO
July 20, 2009, 6:49pm
After having a private conversation via long distance call with Hall of Fame promoter Bob Arum over the weekend, Manny Pacquiao finally agreed to face Miguel Cotto of Puerto Rico at a catch weight of 145 lbs.
Pacquiao adviser Mike Koncz said “adjustments were made” in the other provisions in the contract and the fight is green and go for the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on November 14.
Pacquiao had initially wanted to bring Cotto down to 143 lbs, citing Cotto is a natural welterweight (147-pounder) while he hasn’t really fought at that level even though he beat up Oscar De La Hoya last year.
Against the Golden Boy, Pacquiao only weighed 142 lbs and against Ricky Hatton last May, the 30-year-old pound-for-pound king tipped the scales at 138.
Pacquiao, Koncz and lawyer Franklin Gacal had originally planned to fly to the US to meet up with Arum to settle the issue but Koncz said that wouldn’t be necessary since Pacquiao has agreed to the terms.
“Bob is expected to make an announcement (about the Pacquiao-Cotto fight) within the week,” said Koncz.
Arum is coming off a three-week vacation in Europe.
Pacquiao’s itinerary in the coming days and weeks remains tight owing to his showbiz commitments.

Again, you were the only one who thought this enough to start a thread about it. No one on here said Hatton was weight drained until you mentioned it on that thread, son...
Re: Pac agrees to 145 lbs!!!
C-Lo, the weight drain thing was brought up by the boxing media, with Ring Magazine the first to make an issue of it & actually being up close at the weigh in, Hatton DID look like he'd struggled making the weight.
But, IF he struggled that is entirely HIS fault. Pacquiao didn't drain him down to a catchweight, it was at the weight where he was supposedly unbeatable & with his Pub Drunk style of fighting, I think Pac knocks him out whatever the weight.

there will be because cotto weighed 1 pound less than his last fight, that would make him severly drain
Frankly in this day and age of day before the fight HORSESHIT WEIGH INS, the day before the fight that is,it doesn't matter any more about weight. They have time to replentish themselves where as 25 years ago they weighed in 12 hours before a fight and had less time to recouperate, let alone in the early days when they weighed in right before the fight. It is time for the commissions to go back to same day weigh ins and maybe everyone will fight at their natural weight.

Cotto's not as slow as some are making him out to be, he has awesome timing to make up for the slight edge in speed that goes to Pac, IMO Cotto's the harder hitting stronger guy, he has no problems with southpaw, infact he fights very well in the southpaw stance himself, so his constant switching could actually cause Manny problems
He has problems with the left uppercut which Margo and judah landed multiple times and they rocked him...if ac lands one of those Cotto may go down for the count.
since when is Pacquiao known for uppercuts? and a left uppercut at that? Clottey is a stronger man than Manny and even he wasn't able to seriously hurt a one eyed Cotto with the uppercut, a punch that he's pretty much known for, Pacquiao has improved leaps and bounds from what he once was, but he still basically uses, the pawing or quick jab without much power on it to set up the straight left, or the now dangerous right hook, IMO those are Manny's only real weapons, the reason he's so dangerous now though is cause of his accuracy WHEN he's calm and collected, the people that are actually thinking that Cotto is gonna share the same fate as Hatton of getting stopped so early or at all are pretty much taking this shit a bit far

How about that left uppercut? Does it pass your discriminating taste?
Re: Pac agrees to 145 lbs!!!
I think Cotto has to worry more about Pacquiao's right hand a.k.a. "the Manila Ice". It played a big part in his last 3 fights.
Re: Pac agrees to 145 lbs!!!
I'm picking Cotto to win this.
Manny is truly a phenom, but I think a prime and focused Cotto will be too much for him at 145. Miguel won't be as careless as Hatton was, and he won't look as sluggish and drained as Oscar did.
He has underrated hand-speed, a pretty tight defence and can be a murderous body puncher too.
It won't be easy, but I'm going with Cotto by 10th round stoppage.

are you seriously comparing 3k Battery to Cotto?!? and yea that was at featherweight, how many other fights has he really used the uppercut so effectively, and discriminating? i've given Pacquiao credit for everything he's deserved credit for, Hatton, Morales II, Barrera I, just cause i don't get a hard on from him beating on a bum like David Diaz, beating up a shot weight drained DLH, or barely squeeking by twice against Marquez in fights i don't thing he should have gotten, i think Pacquiao is a great fighter, but he's far from being THE Greatest fighter
