Previous day weigh ins are a joke, exploited in tragic fashion by the likes of JCC Jr. and others.
Bring back same day weigh ins and quit stalling.
Watched the Julian Jackson-Gerald McCellan II fight recently. I feel for Julian when post fight he stated "Gerald is a
BIG middleweight. Dude came in looking like a LHW, just a bad thing for those who fight at walk around weight.
Yeah its a shame and in many ways its sanctioned cheating. I remember all the chatter after Gatti/Gomache. The entire weigh in was a sham.
There are not many natural weight fighters left above 115. I remember even Hop weighing in under 160 the night of his fight with Oscar and he was around 160 in every fight at middle on the night of it. Floyd was like that for years but age has put on about 6 pounds or so when he rehydrates.
Manny might be the only one left that could be on or near 147 the night of his fights.

Jack Dempsey never fought black fighters because his promoter Tex Rickard feared (white) America would react the same way after the Jack Johnson victory if Dempsey lost; with hatred for a black fighter beating another great white fighter. https://beatsboxingmayhem.files.word...s_contract.jpg
I don't fault Dempsey. None of us can fathom how fucking wicked the nation behaved upon Johnson's victory. It came close to Wills vs Dempsey- but they stopped short when the question of a potential Dempsey loss was considered. If so, why would he have even sat down with the man as seen here if he was so racist as some claim?

After prison Mike Tyson was carried as a cash cow and there were plenty of fighters able to beat him out there.
Riddick Bowe is overrated he just had a style that meshed with Holyfield and Bowe happened to be the bigger man.
If Ike hadn't called that lying hooker he'd have been the natural successor to Lennox Lewis. Ike would have smashed the Klit brothers. A Lennox-Ike fight would have been awesome with both in their prime. Would have been a hard fight to watch for me knowing & liking both fighters though
