and to answer your question about what male lions do.....they hunt when they don't belong to a pride. These males are called nomads and they wonder the plains tearing through just about anything that gets in their way. It is part of their rite of passage. and yes, they tear through animals that outweigh them by more than 150-200lbs. When they bolong to a pride, they still fight with other males over border disputes.
I've heard it again and again that Tigers, while stong and big, are more reclusive animals than Lions. Tigers are awesome hunters, but I don't think that they are agressive as male Lions. Size only makes so much of a difference here. Same with dogs.
If you put a pit bull against a rot weiler, the pit bull will take the rotweillers down most of the time. Even though he is
way way smaller. Same goes for the pit and most other dogs with maybe the exception of the Tosa Inu.
Please don't get me wrong.....I don't advocate pitting animals against one another (unless they wear gloves ;)) but I am stating what I have seen and read and heard in the past.
To say that the Tiger has a more brutal life than the Lion is crazy.
As far as the 2 known superior animals being the dragon and the tiger ...(we'll skip the dragon argument) I think that the Grizzly bear would shred a Lion, Tiger, Liger or any other land dwelling animal to pieces..............and the killer whale beats them all!

yes i know those male lions are called nomads...yes they wonder along untill they conquer a pride of their own...yes they take down animals 150-200lbs...but heres the keyword GROUP...we are talking about one on one 1tiger vs 1lion...lions always need other lions to succeed...lion never fight without other lions backing them up...the male pride leader is back up by his female lioness...and those nomads, back eachother up...and its not like they always fight right when a group of nomads sees a pride leader...a pride leader sometimes instantly scares off the crew of nomads...they can only detrone the pride leader if they stick together and terrify the females and kill the pride leaders...now like i said before, a lone lion is a dead lion...a lion need other lions to survive...one on one against a tiger the lion is already in a disadvantage due to the tiger all his life depends only on itself

personal experience...pitbulls will win against rotweiler most of the time...pitbulls are bred specifically to fight...rotweilers are to guard and bark...
and what makes u think tigers are less aggressive then lions...some tigers are known to be man eaters ...talk about aggression...look at it this way...if u live most of ur life anti social wouldn't u have inner aggression building inside u

no you've got it completely wrong i've been studing lions and tigers for years now...the reason for people who have claimed lions living more brutal life is because u see them more in t.v...showing them fight and hunt...you barely see tigers being recorded and the only time they are shown is when theiR beatifull strips and furs are being display while they run in the snow or blend in to the forest...TIGERS in the wild aRe extremely RARE now...they aRe BRUTALLY hunted and shot by pouchers...they viciously and instantly kill jaguars and panthers to minimize compition for food and fight other tigers they run into...and when food source get low...they aRe known to become man eaters

gRizzly beaR is a beast...but i wouldn't be so confident on the grizzly bear shredding apart a lion or a tiger...and no way a liger...a man who was once attack by a grizzly bear...killed the bear with a single daggar to the neck...ofcourse it took a while for the bear to bleed to death...and so did the man...both the beast and the man was found dead...sounds cRazy huh?...and also the wolf is known to make bears back off...from a bark of a wolf to a roar of a lion or a tiger i think the grizzly would rather walk by then get into conflicts...they stand up and show theiR size roar then leave...a tiger and a lion can kill a grizzly bear with a viciouse bite on the back of the neck...but a grizzly bear could kill a lion or a tiger if kept them infront of him...it'll would come down to how the fight happened...they may both end up dead due to injuries....
a killer whale thats not even a match...can't happen tigers can swim but can't fight underwater...and killer whales would be a sitting dinner for a gRizzly bear a lion or a tiger oR any land dwelling animal when out of the water ahahahah....

Liger is a mix between the two it happens when kept in captivity, they have had a few that take place in the circuses. I only know cause when I was stationed in California we had a discussion and did some research. For the most part tigers would win, but tiger seldom try to kill each other while tiger kill each other to take over a pride. But still Tiger win from what I remember.Quote:

TiGGER... i mean TIGER wins
false...lioness don't compare against a tigress and no way against a huge male tiger...heres the thing people constantly forget...lions only are successfull hunters or successfull creatures because they rely on eachother...again and again a lone lion is a dead lion!!!!!...females do not fight all the time yes they do hunt all the time but together never alone...as for tigers...the tiger hunt kill and fight alone...and we aRE talkin about one on one...one tiger versus one lion...a tigeress kills both lioness and male lion...a fully adult enormous male tiger can take two male lions or a crew of nomads...Quote:

Judging by the thread id say there's a market for this fight.

First result: They came to the conlcusion that the Lion would win.
Second result: they came to the conclusion that the Brown Bear would win.
If you search for Animal Face OFF on the net you should find it.
