Re: Haye comeback fight on free to air tv
Its almost impossible to have concrete figures but just going by ballpark. Fury earned around about 5 million for the Wlad fight. Haye earned around about the same for a joke fight with Audley Harrison. Haye earned way more than 5 million quid for his fight with Wlad.
Haye, is a more attractive draw than Fury, I don't think there can be any disputing that. Obviously Ross will because he's obligated up to the eyeballs and will talk about how Fury earned his 5 million quid in his first crack at the heavyweight title and how he's going to make more in the rematch.
The first part is true. That said, if Haye would have fought Wlad for a title rather than Valuev he would have made his 5 million no problem, he made 3 against Valuev for fucks sake.
In the rematch will Fury top the reported 10-15 million Haye made for the Wlad fight? Im not so sure. For that to happen I think he needs the crazy Russian to lump 25 million quid on the table and have Fat Mick/K2 leave him to get on with it. I think some interest will go out of the rematch. All credit to Fury but sadly I think Wlad is done. The lights were on but no one was home and he was in with the wrong guy to get away with it.

Haye-Wlad was reported at around a million buys.
He got over 20 for the Fury fight;D:cool:

Depends what Bullshit you prefer to believe! Read the bottom 2 paragraphs, I'm sure you'll enjoy them. ;D:cool:;D:cool:;D:cool: (enough emojis for you?)
What did Haye get for his first world title challenge?
You forget Haye had been promoted by Sky and Setanta a fair few times by then:rolleyes:
Tyson is new to the scene and burst in smashing the doors down;D
Yep, keep changing the goalposts to suit your argument.
Dear oh dear!
What goal posts?
Haye had been promoted by Sky 4 or 5 times in world title fights before the Wlad fight. He was hardly new to the audience;D Tyson was;)
First you say "Fury has eclipsed Haye, made Wlad more money, him more money, has taken over as the greatest fighter on the planet, blah, blah, fucking blah! " Then , you get fucked over by the facts and you say "Yeah but this was Fury's first World title shot and yeah but, yeah fucking but!" That's when you change the goalposts.
Personally, I'm not sure that Haye's comeback is going to add up to all that much. Too much time away, a shoulder that could be fucked, and his assets (Power and relative speed)will have diminished in the time away, while his competitors have improved.
However, the way you blatantly disregard and disrespect every single other fighter in that division that doesn't have the Fury surname is quite frankly nauseating.
Now do yourself a favour and make yourself 2 New Years Resolutions:
1. Take your head out of Fury's ass once in a while to get some air. And
2. Stop talking like a cunt all the time.
You are a moron arent you.
You are trying to unfairly judge the appeal and draw of a first time world title challenger to that of a boxer who had been promoted as a world champion for 4 years!;D
Its you that is trying to narrow the posts as is Erics.
The first Wlad Fury fight was worth more than the Wlad Haye fight. The rematch even if only worth the same will see Fury get the lions share as the defending champ and earning more than Hayes biggest purse in only his second world title fight;D
Oh ots also going to be the first succesfull defence of unified titles at heavy something Haye also never did.
Haye isnt a bad fighter but hes not what some still delude themselves in to thinking he is. Hes on the same level as a Lucas Browne right now someone whos on the fringes who would get found out at the top.
what does narrow the posts mean?
I'm just trying to find out what the facts are
The original question that I am trying to find out is - who is the bigger draw fury or haye, and i'm going into it with an open mind
I'm not that confident that Fury Wlad was worth more than Haye Wlad just because you said it was
I mean, if I told you I had a 12 inch nob would you believe me without doing some research yourself?
Well it is!
You said Wlad Haye was a 50/50 split with both earning 10 million.
Wlad Fury although not an equal split had Wlads purse at 18 and Tysons at 5 (before pay per view shares) which is a combined 3 more than Wlad Haye.
Think of it like this as well. Had Fury also gone in to their fight as a defending champion and established world class fighter of 4 years he could also have demanded a fair split which would have been more than Hayes purse;D
Fury must be the bigger draw as he created a fight that was worth more than Hayes feeble effort.
Also, stop going on about nob size. Was it Ryan Giggs you told us you had seen?;D
the amount I saw was an estimated purse for haye, ive seen other estimates that suggest it was more
and does purse size alone determine the appeal a fighter has?
and is a fight with wlad even a good yard stick, doesn't/didn't wlad make that kind of money in most of his fights?
what about the chizora fights? is that a good comparison of appeal?
all questions that need to be answered before either of our opinions become fact
and yes ive seen ryan giggs nob

Fury may be oafish, outspoken and obnoxious.... but at least he earned his shot at the HW title (rather than begging for it)..... AND..... he took full advantage of it.
just playing devils advocate, why did fury deserve it more than haye?
He didn't. Even Ross admits that four time world champion Haye had already eclipsed Fury's achievements prior to the Wlad fight. Wlad avoided Haye and thought (wrongly) that Fury would be a simple walkover.
Controversial though it may seem I think Haye threw more hayemakers, overhand rights, power shots in his Wlad fight than Fury. Despite insisting he was a fighting man to his bones Fury had already hugged and wrapped up Wlad in the first round as a clear indication of how the 'fight' would pan out. I am not criticising him it was a good plan, but fair is fair.
Tyson landed more punches than Haye!;D
Also, Wlad was a lot more cnservative against Fury because there was more risk and danger involved as Fury was connecting whenever he tried anything.

Neither fight will go down in the annals of Greatest HW Fights Ever, but fact is Fury did what he had to do to beat Wlad, while Haye did not. Both probably broke world records for trash talking as far as Wlad's concerned, but only Fury backed it up. Beanz, Haye may have thrown a few strong right hands during the fight, but they were lost in the overall pathetic effort, crowned by "Toegate".

Well if you want to talk about power Tyson hurt Wlad a couple of times whereas Haye couldnt;)

But what fans, in the UK especially, have been asking is: which TV station will show the heavyweight bout.
Interestingly, according to an exclusive in British tabloid The Sun, there is a very good chance the fight will be shown on Haye’s official YouTube channel. According to the short piece, Haye is keen to “give back” to his “loyal fans” and will have his comeback fight streamed live on his Hayemaker channel on YouTube as a thank you; this despite reported interest in the fight from Channel 4 and ITV (both terrestrial channels in the UK of course).
Haye is hopeful advertisement interest will result in the streaming gaining him some extra cash. It is yet to be announced whether or not there will be a charge for the fight, if it does indeed go out on Hayemaker.
35-year-old Haye, 26-2(24) will be having his first fight since KO’ing Dereck Chisora in July of 2012. 33-year-old De Mori, 30-1-2(26) will be having his first fight in the UK.
Both fighters have predicted an exciting fight and a KO victory. Haye also states how he is returning to the ring in order to become undisputed heavyweight champion.

In other words hes screwed and about to lose a shit load of money.
Im presuming hes promoting this whole show?
He has all the undercard fighters to pay as well.
He thought his name still meant something and TV channels would be falling over themselves to have his fight but hes pretty much fucked himself with how he lef the new king of the division in the lurch a couple of years ago.
This is a last ditch effort to not lose money but I dont belive any one is going to pay big money to advertise n an obscure youtube channel!!;D

I don't normally bite but, come on Ross mate, we know that you love Fury and think he is the best p4p at the moment but jesus christ, call him by his name 'the new king of the division' as a moniker is taking it a bit far.
I like Fury and I told people he had a good chance of beating Klit but I don't strut about pronouncing him as 'the king of the division' let the man defeat the other few names in the division before saying that for gods sake

Hold on!
If you are the best in the division you are entitled to be called king of the division I think!
Should we just call Tyson the man who did better than Haye and Povetkin and Pulev and Jennings and Thompson etc, etc.
I think King of the division or just simply "best" is very warranted;D
