Re: WHO wins on November 8th??
Ain't you lads bored of this yet?
I don't mean that in a derogatory way, is the election really that important to you lot?
I'm 31 years old and it's never made a fucking scrap of difference who is in charge, labour, tories etc, none of the cunts have done anything to help me in a way that I have ever noticed.
Is it really that different in America?

Oh boy are they! The differences between a Trump and Clinton presidency are immeasurable!
I think what has prolonged our joy is the fact that we were lead to believe Trump had no chance of winning. This was a big upset! I'm still smiling about it! ;D

Look. Even more lobbyists.
Trump really is the leader of that movement. Take Trump away and you just have standard issue GOP corporate servant politicians to vote for. There's still a chance he could do OK Lyle but it's not looking too good. Huge tax cuts and giveaways for Wall Street and big business, it's looking like a standard GOP administration but on steroids. Let's see what he actually does regarding trade and bringing jobs back to America.
I'm reading POTENTIAL picks and CANDIDATES for this and that, who is locked in?

Back when Trump was talking about cracking down on Wall Street and big business, bringing jobs back to America and pushing up American wages I was right behind him. But cracking down on Wall Street turned into scrapping all regulation brought in since 2008 which guarantees if nothing else another 2008-style meltdown. Since then Trump has gone pro-corporation on everything except, possibly, trade. Even his infrastructure plan looks like being a big corporate giveaway. So I'm not so supportive mow.
OR you were always for Hillary or you just don't care because you and "all the smartest guys in the room" back both candidates because you're soooo super smart and wealthy
I really wasn't. I'd like to see Bernie Sanders getting sworn in in a couple of months. You ended up with a choice between bad and worse. Even if Trump does do something useful with trade/bringing jobs back it's going to be outweighed by phasing Medicare and social security out but the real crucial thing is deregulating the smartest guys in the room.
Look what happened last time a GOP prez did it. You ended up handing out nearly twelve trillion dollars in bailouts, secret loans and loan guarantees. Luckily you had a sensible Fed chairman who managed to steer the system through the worst of the crisis. By the time we have the next crisis there'll be a Trump pick running the show. That could spell absolute disaster -- too much to go into but it really could mean let's say another twelve plus trillion which next time won't be paid back and a second multitrillion bailout needed on top of that.
So just Trump deregulating Wall Street is a disqualifier. Imagine he does a reasonable job over eight years and is leaving office having done well but then the financial system collapses like the last Bush 43 months in 2008. It would be a really dangerous situation financially, politically and for the survival of a democratic republic.

So you make a great deal of money, or so you say, and you'd like a Socialist to run the United States of America? And who did you support in England? Corbyn?
If Trump was going to deregulate Wall Street soooooo dangerously much then why did Wall Street money back Hillary? Or am I not supposed to ask that question? Are THOSE Wall Street fat cats looking long term? Are we to believe that they are the only ones who are thinking clearly? For some reason I don't buy it Kirkland, you can't tell me that the system is greedy and corrupt but then there are some who are only a 5.5 out of 10 corrupt and they "saw the light" and backed Hillary because she was going to be better in the end.
And you thought Sanders would have accomplished anything positive? You're out of your mind. See how Socialism is totally rocking it right now in Venezuela? People can't even buy toilet paper there. Oh but that would never happen in America because??????? (and there's the part where you explain why Socialism needs to be tried in America and you say why it wouldn't ruin the entire nation the way it has ruined every other nation that has tried it)

Bernie isn't a socialist. With Bernie you're not going to get a centrally planned economy, you're just going to get things dialled back a little bit. Higher taxes on the wealthy, properly regulated financial system and corporations and so on. Basically turn the clock back to where America was in the 1960s. No central planning like Venezuela which is a banana republic with oil. Whoever is running Venezuela does the same thing. When the oil price is hight previous governments looted the country on behald of the twenty families who own the country. When Chavez took over the oil price had crashed and the country was in the same situation it was noe, 3000+% inflation and mass unemployment. Only thing Chavez and successors did differently was give all the oil money to the people instead of twenty familiees.
Wall Street overwhelmingly backed Hillary because she was favourite to win. But Wall Street also backed Trump and now the next at least four years are going to be a gigantic bonanza for the financial industry. Remember Fannie and Freddie? Would you like to own a piece of a ten trillion mortgage business and be given it for free? Watch what happens to those two firms in the next couple of years.
Trump is going to deregulate the American financial system back to 2006. It's only a matter of time now until another financial crisis. And when it happens we'll discover it was Obama's fault. That's just a wild fucking guess like.

Trump used to be a Democrat. He was saying a few years ago that rich people like him should pay a big one time wealth tax to pay off the entire national debt. Bernie has never suggested anything as Communist as that. Was pro abortion, pro single payer healthcare and so on. Going on the platform Bernie ran on in 2016 he could comfortably have fitted into the 1960s GOP as a Rockerfeller Republican.

I am not worried about Trump the race is over, the election won, if Trump fails to deliver on what he ran on have no worries those who voted him into office will be the first in line to vote him out of office, myself included.

Actually Bernie is a communist
Re: WHO wins on November 8th??
So true. I don't know who's more of a demented, head-uo-the-ass FUCKWIT: Bernie or Jeremy.
Re: WHO wins on November 8th??
I think people are getting carried away with this Trump thing.
Here's the long and short of it, IMO.
We are justified in not liking Trump's use of Twitter.
We are justified in thinking Trump may have enjoyed winning the election more than he'll enjoy being President.
We are justified in not liking many things about Trump's personality.
We are justified in not liking how Trump encouraged... rather than DIScouraged... separatism and hatred during his campaign.
We are justified in worrying how Trump will actually run the country, now that he has the keys in his hands.
None of this..... I'll repeat..... NONE of this.... means any of us are Clinton lovers (shudder..... hell no) or other nonsense like that.
Personally, I'm glad..... I'll repeat.... GLAD.... Clinton got her ass beat. She would've made a horrible President.
Yes, I'm glad there's a system of checks and balances, and truly believe it will be put to the test with President Trump.
I can only hope the system works as it should, working to avoid a full meltdown whether at the domestic or even worse, the global arena.
This election was more about Hillary than it was about Trump, I believe. It was a mass rejection of Hillary as unfit to be President. (Yes, I said it).
Had Trump been up against a good candidate, I believe he would've lost.
Yes, Trump brought with him some good messages. It's just the package they're wrapped up in..... THAT'S the problem.
Half the people crying about the election isn't because they're Hillary lovers. It's because they fear and dislike Trump.
For people to label this sector "Hillary lovers" is childish and near-sighted.
I've said this before and I'll say it again: I wish Trump the very best in the next 4 years. If he succeeds, so will the country.
Re: WHO wins on November 8th??
Trump should get off of Twitter for the time being, he's acting like an ass.
No need to be vindictive on Twitter, the war is won. Spend your time making America great and building that fucking wall!
Re: WHO wins on November 8th??
People will probably never understand us New Yorkers. We are a vengeful lot. After an utterly unfair and WRONG treatment by the media and the shills, a total pile-on of epic proportions, we New Yorkers will need 90 days to get it's completely out of our system and exact long and drawn-out revenge against the idiots who did that to us. How many of you people on this forum have ever been in New York City for at least 30 days? I would say none of you perhaps only me and Donald Trump have been in New York City for over 30 days. It is very tough there for for you to understand the mindset of New Yorkers of people like Rudy Giuliani and Donald Trump and Chris Christie and me. Oh yes and me I have been to Trump Tower twice this week and I have even dropped off two different resumes with two different cover letters to the Secret Service on the third floor will not allow allow civilians beyond that point. None of you people would ever do such things as we do here in New York. This is definitely the top of the food chain and in New Yorker kick the living s*** out of Hillary Clinton and the entire Elite globalist Brigade period only a New Yorker could with 17 Republican candidates and the evil Halloween Goblin which troll called Hillary Clinton. Get used to it Donald Trump is a New Yorker and he's going to behave like a New Yorker for the next 4 to 8 years get used to it Lads get used to it boys it's the way it's going to be and like I said all along he never did one thing that offended me because he speaks the way I speak and he behaved the way I behaved and the other 25 million of us here in this part of the world. @Gandalf
