Wait what's going on here, who named these guys??? So he's fighting the 154 guy? Ok that's odd, on the bright side I don't think there's any chance he doesn't face whoever comes out on top from benavidez and Tom Morello, this time the waiting doesn't help Alvarez.
I hope he doesn't fight Spence but that suggestion seems to have a lot of legs, surely too much for there to be nothing to it... And anyway Crawford will put a stop to all of that anyway

amir khan was knocked out at lightweight. jermell has never been knocked out & has shown a very good chin. jermell is also an undisputed champion. the fights are nothing alike

that wasn't my point. jermall was being talked about as canelo's opponent for september as the first fight of his deal with pbc. i prefer canelo fighting jermell over jermall. if you're asking who i'd ideally prefer to see canelo fight next it would have been the rematch with dmitry at one seventy five as planned. if you're asking who i'd have liked canelo to fight next at super middle, i would prefer david m over david b. hopefully david b stops running from david m now & they can fight next, putting the winner in line for a canelo fight

this fight is very different from ggg v kell. had ggg ever fought at welter? was kell undisputed at welter? errol brought mikey up. antiono brought bernard up. this is nothing new. the networks & promoters also have a hand in these fights. the public is not forced to watch or buy it, although i do think this fight will do well. this fight is undisputed v undisputed. you might think it's lame, doesn't make it not undisputed v undisputed though. tyson v naoya undefeated v undefeated is a false equivalence. like titofan likes to say. apples & oranges

But we all know that would never happen. Tim was set to have his Canelo'ish type fight vs Charlo...biggest name, purse, all the titles etc. It was literally signed and dated before Charlo opted out. What is making this are the belts and the literal header (empty header if we're honest) of "undisputed vs undisputed". All a cash grab and have to wonder cash out for Charlo to go enjoy some more inactivity. And I'll go out on a limb and say regardless of outcome he will not be going back to 154. What's NOT making it happen is either Charlos or Canelos clear definitive dominance over the very top threats it their respected division. That's usually how these things work, sweep a division clean, collect all the trinkets, pound your chest and then go slay bigger game up North. Not here.
