Italia-Australia: (Right on Snakey :D ) This is set to be a good match the damn! Aussies run like leopards.....I told you they never give up they showed it against Japan, they played the full 90+ minutes against Brazil like it was gonna be their last, they were down 2-1 vs. Croatia today and didn't give up to edge out a 2-2 draw to give them the adv. I expect Italia to dominate the 1st half and and go into ther half on top 1-0. Australia will rally in the 2nd half and with that same attitude of not giving up and going forward will even things out 1-1 towards the last 20 min. of regulation. Unfortunately for tyhe Aussies Italia will edge out a 2-1 win scored on a contraversial penalty kick.

Brazil-Ghana: My, my, my.......Ghana has REALLY shown something, can they keep it up? Brazil has risen and is ready to samba......What a mastersfull breakdown of the Japanese team, it looks like Ronaldo has finally arrived to the world cup. Dinho is showing up here & there. Ghana dismantled the Czech Rep. & US. They lost their 1st outing vs. Italia IMO as World Cup 1st game they were nervous and thats that. They got over it and now they are ready. In the end Brazil will break them down wining 2-0.

Here it is.....

Germany vs. Argentina: Germany is at home and like I said before everything runs to their favor ;)
Some way, some how zi Germans will win. But my heart and my belief says Argentina will get a victory.


Italy vs. Ukraine: IMO. Italy shouldn't even be here, they don't derserve it. But soccer isn't always about who deserves it or not. Ukraine was very fortunet to get past Switz. Ultimately Italys expereince will wear out Ukraine beating them 2-0.


England vs. Portugal: With Portugal being down 2 of their starting 11 for red cards & C. Ronaldo being a question mark, everything leads you to belive that England has the advantage and yeah! they do 2-1 victory for England. I just don't think Portugal can't re-group after a game like the last one.


Brasil vs. France: This is gonna be a site to be seen. Re-match of the 1998 Finals (set up match IMO ;) ) France showed heart & determination today against Spain. It seems that Zi-Zu has awaken. Brasil has yet to meet a big power house. They've played Japan, Croatia, Australia & Ghana beating Japan & Ghana convincingly but edging out shakey victories over Croatia & Australia. In the end I think Brasil will win 3-2.

Argentina were running rings around Germany until they scored and then Pekerman obviously gave them orders to sit back and shut the game down. So, so stupid... if they had continued to play like they were playing they would have probably won and caught Germany on a counter attack at some stage (Germany obviously upped the tempo to get back into it.)
Taking Riquelme off was basically a resignation to the fact that they were going to play out the remainder of the match in their own half and when Germany equalised, Argentina were left with no playmaker and no ability to control things around the middle, than if they had still had Riquelme on the pitch.
Pekerman is going to meet some hostility when he gets back to Argentina, haha. ;)

Argentina were eliminated because of Pekeerman's poor decisions.Had they left Riquelme on,they would have exploited all the space being left by the Germans as they ventured forward!! Now there is no chance of my dream final-Argentina v Brazil!! Great!!! Italy have also had a lucky/easy ride through but I expect Germany to beat the even though,if I recall correctly,just before the finals,they played each other and Italy won 5-1!!

Another WorlD Cup,another failure for England. Where was that performance everyone was looking for? Rooney was petulant and undisciplined once again. Frank Lampard showed once and for all that he and Gerrard can't play together and in my opinion,that he is not world class. I thought this was England's best chance to win,I mean their squad is awesome but Eriksson must shoulder responsibility. Terrible tactics,poor changes,and what happened to Walcott making an impact? I don't think things are going to be that much better under Mclaren!
Also,England failed to beat a really really pooooooor Portugal team. If they get any further,it will be by luck because they were pathetic!! 11 v 10 and England were better and only Figo showed any class or guile. Ronaldo once againshowed why he is such an over rated piece of tripe although he did well with the penalty.

Great goal by Grosso at the end of extra time followed by Del Piero putting the icing on the cake right after when the Germans were in all out attack.
Cannavaro has been the player of the tournament for me so far! Klose and Podolski would have been more effective if they hadn't even been on the pitch, that is how awesome Cannavaro was.
