You should give Wlad props for getting Lamon a HUGE payday for his first fight back, he'll fight again and it's his F****** eye he can do what he wants to with it!
Totally agree here.
The eye weren't no factor...the layoff...maybe...but that's his choice not to tune up prior to fighting the top dawg.
I thought Wlad gave the stamp of "ass whoopin approval" all over this one.
Bring on RUIZ!!! ;D

He should have bought Lamon a Golden Retriever and a white stick.

Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds! Klitschko vs Brewster II
I know Lamon is no Pernell Whitaker but I've never seen a fighter struggle to see a right hand coming towards them in the last 20 years more than Lamon Brewster. Wlad shouldn't be ashamed about this, and neither should Lamon Brewster or even his people, it's the IBF and the comission who saw it fit to put him in the ring.
-
Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds! Klitschko vs Brewster II
Lamon will be fine IMO, he can come back and be something he just needs more time to learn Buddy McGirt's style...if he can have good defense and land his left hook he'll be a threat to anyone.
Wladimir's next opponents: Nicolay Valuev (who has a fight date in September open), Hasim Rahman, John Ruiz.....really only the older guys coming off losses are available to him....he could take a Eddie Chambers but it's WAAAAY too soon for Eddie to take that fight
Big Dan if you're that upset about it, go join PETA or something, but don't watch boxing if you're going to be a girl about it...ever think about what Brewster would do if he couldn't fight??? He has kids he has a wife, he has to put bread on the table....I understand IF he was hurt but he took a layoff for his injury and now he's back....getting punched is part of the sport, it's not like his eye was rolling around in the ring or anything.

You mean to tell me that you wouldn't want to see Wlad hammer Jane Luiz into a deep unconscious stupor?
Say it aint so?!?!?!

Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds! Klitschko vs Brewster II
....and Nicolay Valuev...something in me wants to see Wladimir chop down a guy bigger than him and be the first to stop him....I think it would be an easy paycheck really

Naaa - we already saw Tua do it! Save Wladdy for fresher meat. Although it would be fun seeing Ruiz try to hug WK.
Gives whole new meaning to the term n**hugger ;D

That's immature to say, I love boxing, I love knockouts and I love fighting in general, it's the basis of human DNA, it's the essence of all sports, but there's such a thing as a level playing field. It's why there's weightclasses, marquis of queensbury rules, sanctioning bodies, referees and judges. When a guy gets in the ring with one of his eyes clearly not working properly, it's like tying a hand behind their back. This isn't world war one or the fucking Gaza Strip. It's boxing and it should be safe, but it clearly isn't.

It was undefeated heavyweight and Klitschko sparring partner...Jonathan Banks
Dan I don't care what rules you put in place punching someone in the face is NEVER going to be 100% safe. Did you ever stop to consider maybe Lamon IS ok to fight? I mean I know it's a tough injury and I know he doesn't have much defense at all but what if he is ok to fight? Does that change it? and what injury is enough so that a fighter should call it a day???
Lamon is all heart, it's a shame what happened to him but I don't think his eye was messed up tonight, a lot of people can't block Wlad's punches especially his right cross

Not that I'm jumping to Lyle's defense here or trying to one up ya Dan...but he was cleared months ago & even after the fight stated that the eye wasn't the issue.
Wlad just beat the man to the punch. The size disparity between the two of them is painfully obvious.
In both fights Brewster had to jump in to connect on anything...that just shows Brewster's limited abilities in comparison to one such as Byrd or Brock. Same size or smaller men than Brewster but atleast they could connect.
As Lyle said...Brewster is all heart...but that don't give him a pass over nor does his heart extend his arm long enough to match Wlad.

Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds! Klitschko vs Brewster II
Wlad is well overrated he did'nt really show me anything tonight Brewster never really pressed the fight he did'nt try to win i think both the WBO and WBA champs could beat him Wlad is nothing. All he does is left jab left jab and whiles he's doing that you can see him loading the right hand up Brewster went after him about 3 times and all 3 times Wlad panicked i think he's still gun shy.The other 2 champs i mentioned will take the fight to him and rough him up and take him out i would give Holyfield a shot after watching lastnight out of the 4 champs i would'nt say Wlad was the best. And Fire sadclick right back at you matey.

I suppose it's fair but for the fight to be stopped after 6 rounds is a very clear indicator that there's still a major issue with the eye.

I felt like Buddy stopped it in order to prevent any issues with the eye. Brewster was eating jabs like candy, and there's no sense in continuing that and risking damage to the eye.

Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds! Klitschko vs Brewster II
How many seconds into round one was it when Brewster realized he had zippy chance of winning the fight ???
I am happy for Wald for avenging a loss. In fact, I think the corner stoppage was better than a KO. Brewster did absolutely nothing and it was pathetic.
You can say that Wlad should have got Lamon Brewster the hell out of there, but, you could say that he was being kind in not battering a defenseless man to death.

I think that wlad's approach to this fight definitely reflected the fact that he had a loss to Brewster. He was cautious, controlling from the outside with that amazing jab, and tying up early when they got close. He wasn't taking any chances though he probably could have done so with success.
Also taking that jab for a "test ride" to see how far it could take him. Gave him loads of space and control.

Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds! Klitschko vs Brewster II
In the first match Brewster won with heart, this time he lost without it

Well all I can say to that is that you're an idiot.
Wlad didn't panic he got out of the way just like anyone else. He's not gunshy, if he was gun shy he wouldn't have thrown the right cross or left hook as much...the jab was landing and he was trying to take Brewster out but the tough SOB has never been KO'd so you can't really blame Wlad for not gassing out trying to KO the guy again although the KO of Brewster was coming he couldn't have kept that up for another 6 rounds.
I guess we'll just have to face facts and say you'll NEVER be impressed by Wladimir no matter what he does.
I would LOVE to see any of the fights you mentioned come up, even the Holyfield one, I HIGHLY doubt a guy who can't KO Lou Savarese can beat Wladimir Klitschko....as for Chagaev and Ibragimov, Ruslan is OK I guess but Sultan had a draw with RAY AUSTIN.....the same Ray Austin Wlad beat in the second round by KO.
joedadi to say Brewster has no heart is ridiculous

That is an odd posting, Tyson Mayweather. Wlad is overrated by whom exactly? He does what he needs to do and does it well. Perhaps you underrate him? :-\

cc Wacko for the RBR.
You've always stuck by Wladimir, even through the rough times.

Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds! Klitschko vs Brewster II
I dunno what it is with these guys, Brock, Byrd, Austin especially and now Brewster being scared of Wlad. WTF? Yes, the man is big, with a good jab, but you know that once you get past that jab, there is a glass chin behind it and a panicky awkard pussy too. Peter looks to be the only HW with enuff size, power, and balls to go after Klitschko and KO his ass. Its possible he could get outboxed again, but he has improved a lot in two years, Peter vs. Klitschko is the only fight that makes since in the HW division right now. That Brewster fight was pathetic...
