Official Taylor Vs Pavlik Poll (New Pavlik Training Vid Old School Style!Pg 14!)

The thing about Pavlik is all of the guys he has beat were all within two or three fights of a loss. He has beat 2 or 3 good fighters but not great. Taylor has "beat" or been competitive with great fighter, the likes that Pavlik has yet to be in the ring with. Also, Taylor will be the only undefeated fighter he has fought and he happens to be the current champion. The ONLY advantage Pavlik has is that Taylor has yet to fight someone with Kellys style and, maybe, power. If Taylor brings out his jab and experience he will have a good night for him and a good win.

But wouldn't you say that he has tore through his competition and deserves his shot. I just think once he tastes Pavlik's power that he is not going to press as hard he will get backed up and eventually get to the ropes like Ouma and Wright did to him and that will effect the outcome of this fight. Pavlik's has the rare combo of power and a great chin. He is a great technical fighter and he could be the next 160 champ.

Well his last three fights have been against southpaws taking away his main weapon the Jab...

I think we see a new Tayler in this match and think its been said tayler gets the Jab going against an orthodox fighter and Maybe decides to open up a little bit.

Let's hope so....I'll be keeping a pillow close by just in case we see the performance weve gotten use to from tayler.catch some ZZZZZZ and wake up to watch the 10 count ;D

If I was Manny I would done quit JT. He tells him exactly what to do to win fights and the last 2 or3 Taylor just refuses to follow his instructions. If someone told me how to win a fight and not stink out the place, thats what I would do. ::**

He does deserve a shot I just dont think it his time yet to be champion. I think he will be champ in the next 2 years though but I dont see him being a dominant force and competing with guys like Wright or Calzaghe or mostly anyone on that levels sucessfully unless he improves his defence and speed.

After having seen the Pavlik Taylor programme,of which I have forgotten the name,I really want Jermain to lose. I think he has gotten away with far too many close decisions(he should have atl least 1 L) and he just seems too cocky for my liking.

Him and Steward appear to be over confident based on random factors like Taylor beating Kelly in the amatuers when Kelly was only 17,a kid.# and ok,he has more experience on a big stage but I don't see that as that great an advantage. JT and Emmanuel alluded to JT facing better competition but B Hop,Winky etc are hardly going to prepare you for Pavlik. I like Kelly's approach and although he's far from unbeatable,I'd like to see him win.

Remember folks,Jermain was being backed up by Winky Wright and with all due respect to Winky but he neither possesses the power nor the physical presence of Kelly. I still favour Kelly to win but I think it'll be a tremendous fight.

If JT listens to Manny, works off the jab, and keeps his left high most of the time, he'll have a good chance to win a decision, maybe a late stoppage on cuts or a swollen, closed eye from the jab landing over and over. Pavlik is going to back him up for sure. Unlike Miranda, JT can fight going backward. He work back off his jab, plant, and land accurate straight rights, unlike Mirando who throws looping overhands.

If he gets draw into a war, abandons his jab, and fights on the inside, Pavilk will be the new MW champ. As much as I like Pavlik and want to see him win, I think JT has the PHYSICAL game to win. Unfortunately for Taylor, he can be stupid, stubborn, and arrogant. To me, based on the HBO countdown, he doesn't really think much of Pavlik or think Pavliks power will matter. Big mistake. If he is stupid enough to underrate Pavlik's power and bang with him, he's going see stars.

i hope you're right, I'm rooting for Pavlik forever :)

One thing Kelly has been training like for this fight is his head movement. If he does move more and a little faster like when he was a little younger, Taylor is going to have a rough night. I can not wait till this Saturday.... Kelly will show his power and become the NEW MIDDLEWEIGHT CHAMPION!!!!!!

As much as I like pavlik I gotta go with Taylor. my prediction is Jermain eeks out the decision like he has since he won the title.

but I think this is gonna be a very good fight that will win acolades for both fighters and a rematch will be had no matter who wins.

I thought for sure it would be on tv... Stupid TSN, I'm sure it'll be on in a week or two, but this sucks.

This is one of those fights where I have no idea what will happen, none at all. I do fear for taylor some in this fight as I believe pavlik is a very good boxer with power that taylor probably hasnt felt, at the same time I doubt pavlik has been hit like JT will hit him either, it should be a great fight, I think both want a KO so it could turn out to be a fight where both guys at some point have to get up off the mat.

I'm gonna miss the fight. Have my own bout Sunday morning :(

This is the fight I'm most excited about this year, bar none. I still for some reason favor Taylor, if he comes with his gameplan right. But I think if he decides he wants to brawl and get caught on the ropes for extended periods, he will be hurting. Kelly makes up for lack of speed, slickness and seemingly flat-footedness with power and the sheer determination and volume of punches. He never stops attacking and I wonder how Taylor will deal with that. He should use the ring all night but I get the feeling he'll try to lure Kelly into the ropes and try to counter and get out, and see Kelly not letting him get out and it turning into a brawl. If Taylor gasses and starts leaving those hands down like he's done before he'll get pounded in the late rounds. Got a feeling though Manny will have him in superb conditioning so now just need to see if he listens to Manny. This will bring out the best in JT, if it doesn't he'll get murdered. If it does it will be JT by decision. He's not knocking out Pavlik. If he does k.o. Kelly I'd be stunned, but it would reinvigorate Taylor, his career and his fans. Tough one for me to call, but this will be fight of the year. 2 of my favorite fighters, so really won't be disappointed either way, though I'm kind of pulling for PavMan ;D

I'm pretty suprised of how many people want taylor to lose but it just doesn't stop him to win! Who has Pavlik fought? Miranda? Who has mirande fought to even be in the same league? I solely believe that this is boxing and anthing can happen, but I think that Taylor will close the show as "AND STILL!" as usual. He just has the slick skill & always finds a way outta trouble!

Having seen Pavlik take Mirandas punches well I would think Jermaine will have zero chance of stopping Kelly. Kelly no matter what should turn this thing into a brawl he is the man with the stronger chin/punch IMO. GO PAVLIK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!It will be a great bday gift for me.

An on point Taylor will give Pavlik hell...the Taylor back to Bunema & even Eduord will hammer Pavlik if he can get his jab functioning.

That being said...I hope Taylor comes in half handed & Pavlik blasts him out...but...BUT...Taylor should not be underestimated.

Pavlik is a good guy IMO in/out of the sport, I wish him the best.

Taylor must be one of the luckiest champions of the modern era. To his defence, he doesn't shy away from the best out there.

I was wondering when you was going to show up but i respect you giving Pavlik his props and as for your boy Taylor he showed more skills and heart in this loss than in any of his other championship fights so Taylor gets my respect.

Good Showing for Pavlik except for the second round where he tried to stick his tongue out and got caught, I'm curious to see what Pavlik does next.
