Indeed. I'm pretty confident about this one so I'm not going to let my mind get away with me like I usually do.
I've been doing the same ol' same ol' stuff.
Tomorrow I'll be playing racquetball and then do a 3 mile run.
I start my triathlon training next Wednesday, that should be interesting. :)
I'm not too worried about my fight in a couple of weeks. I did pretty good in sparring tonight. Now that the gal I was sparring with has quit, I'm able to break some of the bad habits I picked up working with her, so that's good.
Don't feel bad. It hasn't snowed here for almost 3 weeks. I'm climbing the freaking walls! :mad:

Triathlons are cool, I was training for one last year but we signed up too late so it never happened. When and what distance?
wellll....not quite so sure I'll actually do one. :-\
I think there is a mini one here this summer. I think I could be ready for that. I think it's a 5k run, 1/2 mile swim, and 10 mile bike. Hour and a half I would guesstimate. There's still 4 more months of winter here. Haha.
That's an 8th triathlon, I was planning on doing one of those as well. I still intend on doing one this summer, but it has to be an outdoor triathlon, I don't want to swim in a pool and run circles on a track.
Oh hell no. There's an old school a couple of blocks from my folk's house and there's a track there. Last time I was home I went for a run and figured I'd go use the track since it's dirt and easier than running on cement. Dear lord that's boring! I gave up after a mile and went running around the neighborhood.

My coach got a call that my opponent for the 14th backed out. (big surprise) :mad: But he was able to talk another coach into bringing his girl up for it. I've fought (and beat) her twice but she's really tough. I'll have to really work for it. Hopefully all goes as planned.
It's helped for me, but I've been through 3 different running partners. 2 from boxing and another friend who plays football. No one sticks to it, and I get bored silly with running and have come to dislike it.
Hope this opponent holds up for you. I may be having those issues myself once again for the upcoming nationals. Unreal. :(
This week so far has been pretty active.
Tue, wed and thur: 2 hours boxing, lots of mitts, bag work and sparring
Wed morning: core work during triathlon training
Fri morning: 45 mins swimming for triathlon training
Ended up having to work for someone yesterday so I didn't get my spinning class in.
...and now I'm f*cking sick! I never get sick. WTF?! I really hope this cold is gone by Saturday.

Morning: ran 2 miles
Evening: 50 minute, all terrain, spinning class.

Wednesday did my triathlon training in the am.
35 minutes on the Expresso bike. Those things are awesome! It makes you work so hard. (if you are competitive, that is) Here's a link, check it out.
Expresso Fitness
After the bike we ran a mile on incline.
Wednesday evening just did some mitts with my coach for about 45 minutes then did another 20 minute session on the Expresso bike.
Thursday evening boxing training:
Warm up skipping and some running and then 1 hour 30 minutes of mitts and bag work. 3 minute rounds.
Friday am triathlon training.
We ran for 35 minutes and did incline drills.
1 minute at 0% then up to 1% then back to 0%, next minute up to 2% for a minute, back to 0%....etc....up to 15% incline. Then did some functional stuff, lunges etc and stretching.
This afternoon I'll probably do some mitts with my coach and then I have my fight tomorrow evening. ;D
I'm still fighting this cold, which sucks. But I'm just going to suck it up. Fights are to few and far between to back out over a lingering cold.

I just had breakfast with a friend of mine who used to be in my boxing club. She quit just after Christmas this year when her husband lost his job. She told me that when she quit she had a conversation with my coach and he said: "Yeah, we have a bunch of new people in the club and I'm going to run Amy off, she's got a lot going on and she doesn't need to be boxing anymore."
WTF?! Asshole, who's he to decide what I should and shouldn't be doing with my time and my life.
I'm 99% sure that he knew my opponent was not going to be there this last weekend and I lost out on a project from work that I could have made about $300 on. So I don't even know what to think at this point, but I'm not going back to the gym this week, that I know.
Wow. guy sounds like an arsehole. I'd want to go back for sure also...and confront him with it.
And that would be a pretty shitty thing to do, bring you to a fight knowing it wasn't going down. I've had it happen locally, from my old club after I left it. I thought it was pretty childish, but yea...it didn't cost me a pile of money, although it did the many who came to watch me, family freinds etc. This sounds deliberate and spiteful, if true.

I don't know what my problem is. I can't find the desire to train hard anymore. I went to another club on Wednesday to spar and got my ass kicked by a bunch of kids. Granted, I'm pretty sure I have the flu. But it didn't help my confidence at all. We'll go again next Wednesday, hopefully it will be better.
I kind of feel like I've already peaked in my abilities and I'm on a downward slope. I know for a fact that I'm no where near as good as I was this time last year.
I have two bouts in Canada on the 21st and 22nd. Both are against gals that are very experienced. I think that will kind of be the test to see if I should really be doing this anymore.
