Round 10: Lederman has it nine rounds to none for Mayweather, who lands a hard left jab and right with about two minutes left in the round. Mayweather begins to press and land even more frequently. Five straight punches miss by Marquez, who eats two more hard jabs on the ropes. Mayweather lowers his guard and Marquez still can not land. At the bell, Mayweather drills Marquez with a lead right that knocks his head back. Mayweather's round, 10-9

Mayweather smashes Pacquiao.
Round 11: Mayweather's shoulder defenses allow him to block four straight punches, after which he answers with a hard right to the jaw. Landing punches is futile for Marquez, who continues to eat counter-punches. Mayweather drills another long, lead right to Marquez on the ropes. There appears to be blood dripping from Marquez's nose. A three-punch combination shakes Marquez, as does a leaping left hand before the bell. Mayweather's round, 10-9 :(
No shame in defeat for Marquez, he looked the definition of blown up. Far too small for Floyd who hasn't lost a beat. Wonder if Arum wants Manny to face that.
Marquez to good to get stopped. But he got dominated. I can't see how Pacquiao would have a chance against him
total Mayweather ownage. that is all.
this is a clinic going on...
Props to Marquez, phenomenal boxer buit out of his his depth, this was never a fight. 2 pd diff...no matter.
Floyd deserves the props.
118-109?!? Are you fucking blind? How could anyone give Marquez a single round let alone two.
Well, no surprises there.
It doesn't mean anything though, Mayweather fought a Marquez well outside his weight class and still came in overweight.
The size difference was immense, Marquez simply could not deal with it.
Round 12: The futility begins to sink in for Marquez, who is told by Beristain to "Finish with dignity." A left hook jars Marquez, who continues to retreat. A left hook over hand right knocks Marquez off balance. Mayweather loads up on two lead rights behind a pawing jab. A hard right pops Marquez's head backward. Marquez's right eye is bleeding profusely as he tries in vain to land against Mayweather's defense. On the ropes with 20 seconds left, Mayweather hammers hoome two more shots. Mayweather pumps his right hand in the air as the bell rings. He knows the result, as does everyone in the crowd. Mayweather's round, 10-9
Michael Buffer announces the unanimous decision: 120-107, 119-108, and, 118-109, all for Mayweather, meaning he lost only three rounds total between the three judges.

I suppose Mayweather will now want Katsidis at WW and for the contract to allow Mayweather to come in at JMW.
Mayweathers feet just got moist
That was hard to watch. PBF deserves a ton of credit for this, not only for beating JMM but for the way in which he did it. Very impressive. If he can get the fight and make the weight, he'll beat Pacquiao.
Golden Boy really are arseholes to do that during his interview. When Mayweather does fight Mosley he'll beat him like a gong.
Manny's much more difficult style wise for Floyd, fast, is comfortable attacking and doesn't have to have his feet set to do it, and is left handed. This doesn't change my views that much on that fight. Floyd should still be the favorite but its clearly the toughest fight of his career.
Mayweather would wreck Mosley and people would bitch about how he only fights old guys. He would beat Pac and people will bitch about how he only fights smaller guys. He would beat Cotto and people would talk about how Margarito ruined Cotto. The guy really can't win in the court of public opinion.
Anyone who goes in with an attempt, mindest, even the word "outbox in their head when they step in with Mayweather is doomed... It is simply impossible to beat or even come close to him in that game..
You gotta rush him, wrestle him, fight really ugly to even have a chance of stealing points... Unfortunate for Marquez but he didn't even belong in there in the end...
NOW Mayweather is back, proved he aint lost anything, time to take some challenges to cement his legacy and close down the critics...
Start with taking the biggest, toughest, most respected guys who can make 147 comfortably, or take on some serious challenges at 154.... Staying safe at 147 and fighting it's b grade fighters or dragging guys up from 140 is just not acceptable...
He's now back, lets be back PROPERLY....
I beleive he can take on anyone, so he's just gotta do it... I don't even want him to fight Pac...
It was indeed a mismatch... Shame, shame GBP! Even more with the weight controversy!
for the 1st time in my entire life im a mayweather fan
f*ck the fight he owned that pussy kellerman....hope to god max feels absoloutley humilated!!
In Mayweather's own words, the "blue print" on how to beat Marquez was already there when Marquez lost to Chris John. Pacquiao is a different style fighter. Hatton was able to get to Mayweather and Pacquiao carries his punch power with him and the weight. Marquez is more of an arm puncher and his punch just couldn't hurt Mayweather at the weight.
Mayweather gets credit for the impressive win but he's going to pay at the bargaining table if Pacquiao comes out the winner against Cotto.
Bernard Hopkins is a fukking asshole.
He could earn more respect by fighting people in his own weight class who are in their prime. It would also help if he would make the weight originally stipulated in the contract and stop talking complete and utter rubbish.
Mayweather would have earned a LOT more respect by fighting Mosley or Cotto. I don't think anyone would question a Pacman fight if Pac does an impressive number on Cotto either. But instead he picked on a valiant but way undersized LW. :-\
PBF Jr. outclassed an outclassed opponent in JMM. Now what is there to crow about?
Floyd haters please just stop with the PAC stuff . Like I said it wasn't a fair fight from the beginning and weight, the pres being black, drinking pee or eating poop is going to give anyone except maybe Paul Williams a chance in hell at beating this guy. I also find it funny that kelleman and people like him cried and bitched about kanye then allow shane to do pretty much the same thing. Ah well max is a nutsack anyway.
Honestly I'd like to see both fights. I think Pac has enough speed to make it interesting and enough power to keep it honest, but Mayweather is a perfect storm. Too much power for the smaller guys, too much speed for the bigger guys, and too much skill for just about anyone.
It'll take a perfect storm to beat him - as much as I'd love to see it, I don't know if it will ever happen. The man is just that good. I'd still like to see him keep fighting - there are a lot of excellent fights out there.
I'm with you all the way there... I'll give him this one though as his comeback fight, but he can't go for a smaller guy again...
My annoyance on the subject comes most from the fact I know Mayweather can do just as good against better guys, and although there will always be people finding fault with his opponents and make excuses for why he shouldn't get unconditional props for his wins, but he's clearly got an A grade proven selection of fighters that MOST people will respect him for taking.. And if he despatches of them convingly then there will be excuse makers, but common sense people will give him the respect....
How many threads and posts does Mayweather get every time he announces a fight, because people don't think it's the quality oppoenent that he should be fighting? That's certainly not 100% because people just will always hate on Mayweather.... It's because in the past he's taken the common sense fights for him that are big paydays, biggish names, not so much risk (in the eyes of him and fans)...
I've always said he'll probably destroy cotto or shane or margarito, but regardless if he continues to overlook the fights that the fans want, then there will always be controversy...
You can never prove yourself to everyone, but you can prove you fucking tried..!
Well shite I'm on a role in picks.Went pretty much as maj thought but all asterisks, excuses aside....props to Floyd, back in the saddle and was championship fluid.Marquez a 1st ballot HOF,suberb fighter but it all caught up tonight.
what did shane do?
Tons of guys have tried that. The conventional, cookie cutter response to a great boxer like Floyd is to rush him and crowd him. Unfortunately, Floyd isn't the conventional, cookie cutter "boxer", rushing him leaves you open for lightning fast, lazer-accurate punches. Crowding him leaves you open for blinding infight uppercuts and counters.
Floyd is just the complete package. There is no simple gameplan to beat the guy.
Majority of the good welterweights who come 146 at weigh in could have KOed or bullied the smaller Marquez. The result was expected and those who were hoping for a Marquez win was just that ... hoping. OK Warm ups done, lets see who PBF fights next.
