Shaun Hill v Tom Brady....so far Brady's getting spanked.
Brady's still rackin up some yardage.
The first stat the guys threw out on the Pats first drive was that Brady's never thrown a TD against the Lions. Wish I knew that before the picks were locked in!

Re: Saddoboxing Fantasy football league 2010
I didn't realize the playoffs started next week. The standings look like a bit of a mess, I may be the only one on paper to have secured a playoff seat but BG in reality probably has one as well as he's leading the West and is playing the vaunted Team Frazier this week.
Is it the top two teams from each division or is it the top four teams overall that make it?
And is total points scored the main tiebreaker? Cause theoretically you could have four teams at 6-7 in the West if VD loses and the other three teams win. And CLO and Nameless could be tied in the East.

Re: Saddoboxing Fantasy football league 2010
Holy sh!t...I might actually break my 6 game losing streak.
-
Re: Saddoboxing Fantasy football league 2010
I guess this game doesn't matter but I don't want to lose two straight going into the playoffs.
If I don't win it all this year I should just quit. I'll never have this good of a team again.
-
Re: Saddoboxing Fantasy football league 2010
I need Brady and Branch to outscore the Jets kicker tonightby 10+ and should edge my way into a fairly respectable position. Personally, I've learnt the big lesson of how important RB's are in this format, and next season I'm getting four or five of them and a couple more WRs.

Re: Saddoboxing Fantasy football league 2010
FUCK JOE FLACCO AND FUCK THE OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR FOR THE RAVENS!
I had a 5 team parley in the bag. I had Saints, Rams, Falcons, and Seattle all covered, then the stupid fucking Ravens, while up 4 , covering the spread. They are driving down the field and are close to midfield couple first downs wins it, so these dumb fucks decide to throw on second down, and leave Troy Polamalu unblocked, howw do you not account for Troy? Anyway fuck Flacco and fuck the Ravens.
-
Re: Saddoboxing Fantasy football league 2010
Flacco and Mendenhall kind of fucked me over. But you can never expect big points when the Ravens and Steelers are playing.
-
Re: Saddoboxing Fantasy football league 2010
I think the site miscalculated the playoff brackets.
The way I see it, Violent Boys should be the #4 seed.
VD's team beat the East Coast Pirates twice, both teams have a 7-6 record, but the Violent Boys are seeded fifth and will miss the Playoffs to a team they beat twice.
Is there a way to see how the playoffs are calculated?
-
Re: Saddoboxing Fantasy football league 2010
Playoffs are locked in
Nameless vs. OumaFan
C-Lo vs. BoxingGorilla
Consolation Games
Tier one
Booze Boxer vs. Violent Demise
(Loser relegated to Tier two)
Tier two
superheavyrhun vs. Van Childs
(winner promoted to Tier one, loser relegated to Tier three)
Tier three
Killersheep vs. Frazier
(winner promoted to Tier two)

It goes by record,
if tied then points for
if still tied then points against.
Violent Boys 7-6, points for 1332
East Coast Pirates 7-6, points for 1351
-
Re: Saddoboxing Fantasy football league 2010
Yeah. I just found the rules. Tie-breakers are settled by Points For, which means VD's team is the fifth seed.

That is correct. I hope I didn't kick a hornets nest.

Also, just want to say VD has a 2 game win streak going, while Namless is on a 3 game losing streak.
Still, that is the beauty of rules. It's that Calvin Johnson catch all over again. ;D

Re: Saddoboxing Fantasy football league 2010
Apart from Brady and Branch, I think the rest of my team are already getting ready for the offseason, and tucking in to a few more pies now they don't have to do this darn exercise every week. Seattle D, I'm looking at you. Conceding 37 points to a side with one of the worst passing offences in the league....you suck!

Very correct. Not to mention todays opponent is getting destroyed. But it's all good BG. I place the blame for my team missing the playoffs where it belongs. On Eli "Muthafukking" Manning

Re: Saddoboxing Fantasy football league 2010
The Tadpoles AKA "Champions of 2009" are now headed to losing to team Frazier to end up in the battle for dead last...................
-
Re: Saddoboxing Fantasy football league 2010
Frank Gore
Austin Collie
Joseph Addai
3 double digit players per game, more or less. Out for the season (or absent for a couple of games and unlikely to play again when it'll be meaningful). As the Colts have so much injuries, Peyton Manning, my best players, became very inconsistent. 3 are out for the past 5-6 games and the other went from always producing lots of point to not anymore. Very hard to replace. I started as one of the most vicious team on the block and I'll end up sinking like a loser because of injuries :(
-
Re: Saddoboxing Fantasy football league 2010
Of course team Frazier has Jay Feely, 28 points for a kicker! I gotta give him props, he's the only kicker I know of that scored a TD this season.
-
Re: Saddoboxing Fantasy football league 2010
I have 16 offensive points this weekend :o I mean I still have Flacco, Adrian Peterson, and Arian Foster going tonight but they're not tearing it up, Peterson's got a whole 1 point at halftime.
Utterly bizarre. Nameless seemingly had everybody done by 4 Sunday and I had barely started and he only put up 72 points so I thought ok I should be fine. I'm sitting on 59 at the moment (thank you Patriots D). I'm still projected to win but this has been an absolute abortion.

Re: Saddoboxing Fantasy football league 2010
Outside of fantasy talk, the Texans are down by 8 with 2 minutes left coming back from a three possession deficit. I hope they pull it off just based on how many times they've had their hearts broken this season.
VD is rippin it this week! Looks like I'm gonna be going up against Ouma in the finals. What are the chances Mendenhall, Peterson, Foster, and Gates put up low numbers again next week?

Don't forget this is a two week playoff, so neither leg of the bracket are over by any means.

How do the playoffs work? Dammit! I spoke too soon, I lost!

Ok here's how it works
This round teams play two weeks in a row and the total score is what's counted
e.g. Team X scores 125 in week 14 and 150 in week 15, their total for the first round is 275
This is done for both segments of the playoffs (semifinals weeks 14 + 15, Championship weeks 16+17)
Playoff Bracket
Team # 1 plays Team # 4
and
Team # 2 plays Team # 3
Winners meet for the Championship, loser meet for third place game
Tier 2
Team # 5 plays Team #6
Winner stays in Tier 2, loser is relegated to Tier 3
Tier 3
Team # 7 plays team #8
Winner is promoted to Tier 2, loser is relegated to Tier 4
Tier 4
Team # 9 plays team # 10
Winner is promoted to Tier 3, loser remains in Tier 4

Re: Saddoboxing Fantasy football league 2010
47 points to make up next week....looks like I'm going to be fighting for last place after all. Last place with a 6-7 record? Harsh.
-
Re: Saddoboxing Fantasy football league 2010
Aaron Fucking Rodgers...
I think that injury might have been enough to cripple my chances. Even if he comes back I'll need to make up 20 points.
Third place is the best I've ever finished. It was my first year playing fantasy football back in 99 or so. Maybe it was 2000. It was the first year without Barry Sanders.

HOLY CRAP!
I'm going to miss next weeks games cause I will be on vacation. Hopefully my guys get the "W." Also, maybe the Jets can score a touchdown this week?

Re: Saddoboxing Fantasy football league 2010
Antonio Gates is killing me. I didn't realize how important he was but I limped down the stretch partly because of him being out and now I have to sit him again tonight. He hasn't been healthy in like five weeks. And the crazy thing is he's still the top points scorer for tight ends.
Starting to think he might be done for the year.

I just dumped him in my other league. He was leading the NFL for TDs up through week 6 or 7. but yeah this injury I think is more serious than they are claiming.

Re: Saddoboxing Fantasy football league 2010
Damn interface just decided to poop in my face....put in two SD picks for some of my first teamers....going back to it just now, they're both on the bench, locked about 10 mins before the start of the game. I could make a rainbow with all my colourful language!

best to get some replacements in asap

Re: Saddoboxing Fantasy football league 2010
damn..Vernon Davis got shut out
-
Re: Saddoboxing Fantasy football league 2010
I don't want to call it too soon but I'm up 13 and I have Adrian Peterson left and Nameless has a CB so it looks like I'll make it. But I'm kind of limping into the championship and C-Lo's rolling. I need Gates back and I need Vick to calm the fuck down.
-
Re: Saddoboxing Fantasy football league 2010
Well, I can't fall back on the If-Only-Rodgers-Hadn't-Been-Hurt speech. I actually feel better about losing this way. I started the right players this week and Rodgers wouldn't have made a difference in the end result.
Ouma, kick his ass for me!

Re: Saddoboxing Fantasy football league 2010
Going into MNF I need Shiancoe and Winfield to combine for 94 or more to avoid dropping into the bottom bracket.
That big talk at the start of the season about teaching you Americans about how to play Fantasy Football.....it would have worked if it wasn't for those pesky RBs!

I am very impressed with your understanding of the NFL. I hope if we do this again next year you will give it another shot.

Re: Saddoboxing Fantasy football league 2010
Adrian Peterson is out tonight but that may be ok for me, I'm up 17 and have Toby Gerhart to put in so unless Charles Tillman has some monster game (how many points can a corner really score?) I should be ok. And I would rather AP play next week than this week.
-
Re: Saddoboxing Fantasy football league 2010
Come to think of it, if Favre's playing Charles Tillman really could have a monster game :p

Re: Saddoboxing Fantasy football league 2010
That's amazing not even because the RB's overperfomed but just cause everyone performed. 3 WR's and a TE and they all scored TD's. Kicker even had a huge game.
I don't take QB's early but Vick is going to be intriguing next year just cause he's a RB and a QB combined.
