People need to accept this is who khan is and how he fights. Theres nothing wrong with that and its very exciting.
The problem is, that khans speed and combinations look great but are not knocking these guys down or hurting them to a degree where they back off.

Re: BOXNATION -Khan-Diaz, Harrison-Wilder, Saturday Night Fight Thread
Well good watching the fight with you guys!
I'm so tired, I'm gonna do something unusual and sleep on fight night.
Catch the rest of the fights tomorrow.
Night all!
-
Richard seemed very reluctant to name garcia as the possible opponent for december.
Looks as though its peterson 2 and if khan wins he will move up to welter and avoid garcia.
-
He can hurt people and make them think twice, he is not a massive puncher but there is no rule saying you have to win by stoppage.

Re: BOXNATION -Khan-Diaz, Harrison-Wilder, Saturday Night Fight Thread
Hearns, Lennox, noriss all had issues of resistance to punches and they did well in their careers. So can khan.
-
Re: BOXNATION -Khan-Diaz, Harrison-Wilder, Saturday Night Fight Thread
Khan has already done well. If he never wins another fight he can still hold his big head up high. A fantastic mix of talent and stupidity.

He'd beat Peterson still. He already did it once, still can't believe all the bullshit surrounding that fight.

Sadly for him that's not something that's really fixable.
He reminds me of a poor man's Terry Norris, although he hasn't got the power.

How did Wilder look, I know it was a baby step but did he impress anyone?

He didn't really get the chance to impress. He hit Audley once and then flung a bunch of wild punches, almost knocking himself over in the process, and then it was over.

Re: BOXNATION -Khan-Diaz, Harrison-Wilder, Saturday Night Fight Thread
Watching on Showtime...you could just hear that entire Arena deflate after he was dropped.
Who in the looney world was that yelling "you just tripped...did you trip" between rounds there??? Fire that dude! Mass respect to Khans peeps...he has a brass set but he has really gone as far as he is going to go.
-
Re: BOXNATION -Khan-Diaz, Harrison-Wilder, Saturday Night Fight Thread
khan is sooooo overated its not funny. that big crowd, and all that hype....just to get battered around the ring again. the guy is brave and tough, but his chin is not good. all is lost.
diaz had khan reeling and let him go a few times, dumbass!!! a million dollar mistake that should haunt his dumb ass forever!!! i truly dont understand these fools sometimes.......

@Spicoli - That was Virgil Hunter, Khan's trainer. He talks to him from outside the ring.

Re: BOXNATION -Khan-Diaz, Harrison-Wilder, Saturday Night Fight Thread
Hangover at work this morning was fun. Breakfasted on a pint of water and some painkillers, and could barely string a coherent sentence together. Actually, pretty standard for my Sunday morning shift.

Re: BOXNATION -Khan-Diaz, Harrison-Wilder, Saturday Night Fight Thread
Virgill wants Khan to move the San Francisco permanently to give Khan the best chace fo him to win the title back against Garcia.

I'm not sure location matters but it couldn't hurt. I think he needs a hypnotist.

What the trainer is saying is that the other fighters are constantly with their trainers and he has only 3 month maximum. trying to get Khan to buy into the boxing philosophy takes time which Virgill feels he does not have.

Yup it makes total sense that way and Hunter also has Ward to work with. Khans problems are upstairs hence my hypnotist comment. He made it look so easy at times yesterday. When he listened to his corner he fought brilliantly.

I think those were mistakes and lack of concentration which Virgil wants him to work on. He wants Khan to fight a flawless fight.

Yeh, that just blew me away. An odd crutch to offer him coming off near disaster that round rather than shorten the combinations and stop standing straight up for lefts, anything but 'you must have tripped'?!

Re: BOXNATION -Khan-Diaz, Harrison-Wilder, Saturday Night Fight Thread
Why in the hell is Harrison still fighting? I have had enough.
-
Re: BOXNATION -Khan-Diaz, Harrison-Wilder, Saturday Night Fight Thread
I think there was a tangle of the legs for the first knock down and Khan was properly wobbled when he started to stand toe to toe later in the fight.

Audley couldn't get a spark with an angle grinder and metal bar.
Richard Keyes is telling it like it is. Harrison is not at this level, and he has to be taken out of that level of competition before he takes some real physical damage that cannot be repaired.
Richard Keys was acting a prick talking about something he has no understanding of. What level exactly are you talking about?

Fighting opponents in the able bodied category. People with fists are likely to cause more damage.
