It's weird how the seemingly rational can advocate treating human beings willing to travel hundreds of miles in order to work with such callousness. The Australian goverment has paid families who own orchards to bulldoze their trees flat and destroy their families farms ceasing production, selling their water rights back, so that we can import the same from China. This productive land is then developed for housing.
Add to this that in rural areas where new cities are being built there are a shortage of doctors and nurses etc.
We steal them from Bangladesh (a country already under the hammer from over population and too few professionals and health workers.) thousands are poached from 3rd world countries to fill our growth demands.
I'd be asking who is behind the scenes on this one?
Ours have been exposed fully we know who they are and their company interests, there are debates running and governments and oppositions not knowing which way to go for votes.We know here who is behind this growth plan but they have strings we are having trouble snipping.
Growth here is a short term fix on taxable income off setting pensions in an aged society.
Other than that, it is suicide for our future. We cannot sustain them they cannot sustain us. Water will be our issue too, Rain falls and flows to where there are now houses built on agricultural ground. We cant get that back,it is gone,again we have been sold up the river for political/business reasons who work on % on paper graphs not in real affects.
